I have used this app every day for over 3 weeks since receiving my new hearing aids. I have used the program in all of the covered circumstances, save the theater mode and find that they work very well. My only misgivings are that with settings other than Auto, there seems to be a time limit after which it reverts back to auto. Plus, I would like a better explanation of what is meant by "acoustic".
The app is great, it's a huge benefit to be able to make adjustments via my phone. I like the ability to switch levels around for optimal sound in different situations. Only part that annots me is having to close the app to switch back to automatic when i have it on TV. The sounds will not revert to automatic without closing the app & reopening. Its a bit time consuming if im trying to quickly jump into a conversation.
Using this app helps to find the right program for the environment that I am in. I only had 3 programs to choose from, now I have 6. I can even adjust what direction to turn up and which to turn down. I am focusing in on the convention. Even being able to adjust the tone helps in the fine tuning. I use my phone to do the settings so I can be discrete when in a group.
One step away from useless Could be so much better. Disconnects often, others have that problem too. One improvement I would suggest is to have the app store and start up with the user's preferred settings for mode, volume and tone quality. I need to adjust these settings every morning when I put them on. Maybe the one for iPhone is where they are focused.
After four years I've decided to rate this application. The only thing I use the app for is turning the hearing aids off all of the way. The battery level indicator goes from a poor version of a battery indicator to a tone test. Really they need to hire a real programmer, that knows how to write a proper app. The hearing aids are great just the app is bad. Sorry Connexx.
Works about half the time, then only half the functions work. This app needs some serious, ongoing maintenance, or it just needs to be shut down. It's supposed to record sound exposure data...nothing so far, after a week and a half. It's supposed to adjust volume. That worked for a few days and then quit. Come to think of it, the only thing it DOES do consistently is run down my phone battery. It's a bust.
Works as expected 85-90% of the time on my Pixel XL. When it works, it works well. Could use an indicator to show when bluetooth connection has dropped. Multiple attempts required to connect in crowded public places like theatres and auditoriums. Frustrating, as this is when the app is needed most to change modes. Documentation is adequate.
opening the app takes too long. When I adjust the volume to a satisfactory level and take off the hearing aids over night and place them on again the volume adjust higher. I would like to have the volume stay where I set it. When bluetooth is on & speaker on my lapel when someone is close and speaking loud it echoes in my ears & volume will not lower.
Will not connect via Bluetooth with my Pixel 2 phone. Very frustrating. Spend thousands of dollars on hearing aids that don't work. Still doesn't work and I have to force it to stop when I get a message that the phone volume is too low in accoustic mode. Even though I increase the volume the warning won't go away. What a sh@@@y app!
My phone, a Samsung A50, is not listed so the App doesn't appear to have been updated since mid 2019. The volume level of the hearing aids disappears under some circumstances - a phone reboot fixes the issue. It is usually when hearing aid battery (rechargeable) is below 50%. Would be handy to be able to create your own profile.
Great when it works,!! It rarely does and you have to uninstall and try again. I need to be able to trust the app and know that when I need to change my hearing aid settings, that I can do so immediately and not end up missing half the conversation while I struggle to reinstall the app. It's 2020 for goodness sake. We really shouldn't be having this issue.
The list of compatible phones is very short, which I wasn't told until after I had purchased the hearing aids and tv receiver. The majority of phones are android, and it's pathetic that the sellers of ecpensive hardware would depend on an app that doesn't function for the majority of phones. I feel ripped off and am returning the receiver to Costco.
Have to turn off usage statistics each day. It resets to 'on' mode automatically each time I open the battery door at night. Not everyone wants to be tracked. Or to have the app turn this feature default to on. Creepy. If I knew this was going to be part of the package, I would have purchased something else. This is not okay.
The app in general is ok. No.1 Bad is limited Android functions, no music or phone connect. Seems like a no brainer to make it cross compatible. Would not recommend these for Android users. Lots of bugs. No. 2 With Android, maybe apple (unsure) when you choose a preset and exit the app. it drops the preset selected and returns to Auto. That's pretty annoying to have to leave the app open. No.
On an Android phone (Samsung Note 9) you can change your heating aids' volume, change environment programs, and adjust the directional pickup of the microphones. You can't answer the phone and hear the audio via the hearing aids or stream music directly from the phone to the devices the way you can with an iPhone. They really need to address that discrepancy.
The app is just ok at best. It will not allow you to save settings. You have to reset any time app is closed. Also the data sharing option will constantly change to on from off any time. It would be nice to be able to find a comfortable setup and not have to mess around all the time.
As others have noted, the app is inconsistent. It will not connect via Bluetooth while anything else is connected to the phone. I wear a gear watch, so that's never, which means it only connects via audio mode. When the app works, it's good, but as that is almost never, 1 star only.
App is good with the exception that volume will not stay where set. I am experiencing having to re-boot my phone throughout the day to get my hearing aids changed such as volume, program, etc. I really don't think that this should be necessary. Time for Connexx to take some action.
the hearing aids are Grate tech support needs work you need to list the functon tree so it's easy to find the function on one of the submenues. I am using a Android phone and the hearing aid techs told me to contact you I did so without success WHERE is the battery level function & or does it only appear when the batteries are getting low I have found it several times. It disappears Help!
Very erratic in what it presents. Sometimes it shows battery remaining graphically, sometimes it shows a click to get battery charge. Sometimes it doesn't show anything about battery. It has lots of other things to click that are not worth much. However it is much better than the Rexton app that is supposed to be replacing it.
This app is quite useless. It does not work well with Samsung S10e. Need to disconnect Bluetooth to check battery status. Never recorded statistics and the tutorial is useless. May work better with iPhone. Control of the hearing aid functions work better directly from the aids. The SmartMic works well for phone calls and controlling volume.
