A very... Unique game. Unfinished with a plethora of bugs and a very, very confusing story. There's no clear objective except finding entertaining ways to die (usually in the wastes, damn you illusion of choice!) However, what is there is actually pretty interesting. A large portion of the games lore is philosophy, which can spark some intreguing ideas. If you have a free afternoon, give this a try.
This is truly a special game that took me a while to completely understand but in the end found myself loving. The complexity of the story and the uniqueness of each character is incredible. Had trouble figuring out the personality system at first and the fact that you can close off certain interactions and have to reset the game to be able to experience them is both interesting and mildly irritating but other than that I really enjoined it. I will wait eagerly for the next books to come out.
I just redownloaded this game after being reminded of it after a looooong while. I remembered these beautiful pictures and scenes and was surprised to find mostly text. I wasn't disappointed at all. The opposite in fact. The way the writer describes things is so detailed that I forgot that what I imagined was never actually there. As I'm reading, I forget that that's what in doing instead of watching a film. I absolutely love this game and highly recommend it!! ❤
Massive, mysterious, and prone to replays. Probably the best interactive fiction "game" on the play store, and certainly one of the best regardless of platform. Each time you play, you discover something new and interesting. The developer/author is also very responsive and a great writer. The inevitable confusion everyone experiences only makes it better. Chaos, please provide more avenues for us to give you money.
Story isn't complete, but I find myself coming back to this game often for another playthrough. The story and world are utterly unique, and the game has an interesting take on time. There are a few small bugs, inevittable for sich a complicatied game. One is where I got stuck in a loop talking to a certain guard, then meeting and killing a certain mage over and over again, after meeting and killing said mage in a room after a cave wall. It was funny. Looking forward to an update soon. :D
Looks nice, but the forced landscape orientation displays worse on this device (dim and faded) compared to the reverse orientation, so autorotation would help. Also some interface buttons currently do nothing (including"memory"), and they don't give much feedback or indicate what should be done to enable them.
This is a gain-sentience-after-multiple-playthroughs kind of game, so certainly not everyone's cup of tea. The transitions between books is unclear, to say the least- I wish i knew when I'd get redirected. Love the complexity of the same though! Also, I found a lot of information, especially within the Book of Torma when I controlled Eidos in it tedious as it overburdened me with no way to know which is the important parts to remember. It almost felt like a religious book, no offence intended.
Definitely one of the most amazing games I've ever played. I'm a non-english speaker so sometimes I cannot imagine or understand the text especially when it's describing a building or a place but this app helps me to widen my vocabulary knowledge by listing and searching words that are unfamiliar to me. Great Gameeeee!!!
downloaded this game on a whim...cannot quit playing. Eagerly awaiting next book. okay, jonesing for next book. Backstory and character depth makes me wish i could have read the books first (like paperback series, if they existed), then played around with the game. Totally would buy the boxed set.
I really hope that you answer this quickly. When I got to the Book of Rikharr (or whatever it is) by accessing a certain light orb, I go out of the app to do certain things, when I got in, the app resets and my progress got wiped. Is this supposed to happen? Edit: Cool, so... if the BoR is ever finished and I played it, it will continue from my first playthrough (this is my first playthrough)?
I usually LOVE choose-your-own adventure apps. Especially when you dont have to buy gems or keys to progress through the story. Sadly I couldnt progress anyway since THE FONT IS THE MOST GOD-AWFUL UNREADABLE GARBAGE I have ever seen in my life. When you find yourself wishing for comic-sans you know theres a problem. The hideous font was so distracting the story became unreadable. You have to constantly remind yourself what the funky letters are supposed to say which pulls you out of the story.
Love the game! Is it possible to get a sans-serif or slab typeface for the text? Or maybe a dyslexic-friendly font? I'm not dyslexic but personally I feel more comfortable reading using dyslexic-friendly fonts. I like the theme font (It fits the game's atmosphere so well!) .... Edit: Something like Open Sans/Roboto/Roboto slab maybe?Anyway, thank you so much for listening and being patient with me!
Thank you. THANK YOU! for not forcing that font on us and givin us an option to change it. The desecenders were making it so hard to read. To think comic sans and papyrus get so much shade, when that font deserves it more; no offense.
I love this game! Even though I hate reading, this game makes me come back to play more of it. I called the guards to prison up Dysmas in the tower, afterwards I went to Dazir and strangely he is there! Also,in another session, I let him escape and went to Dazir after, he is there and talked to me as if he never knew that event happened.
A very good game, far behind on updates. The Book of Wulfias is still not out, despite at least two years having passed since the devs put the note that they'd implement it in its place.
Beautifully written, rich in prose, length, and characters. It has a "Planescape" otherworldly vibe to it. If you're a fan of interactive fiction you'll love Conscientia.
Really interesting story but not totally clear on the best way to play. Worth a playthrough; best in one sitting with few distractions.
The Book Of Eidos was promising, but upon finding myself in an unresolvable loop I found myself progressing to the Book of Torma. At this point, it really became a painful read and all but lost the CYOA element.
I really LOVE this game! This inspired me to continue drawing again because I want to make lots of fanart for this. I'll come back here to show my fanarts after a few years. :D
Well it was awesome just one problem not sure if it's a bug but when ever I start a new game I end up keeping all my old glyphs from previous gameplay even in a new game
The world has conspired against Eidos! To have the development cut short like this... We truly live in the worst timeline.
A beautiful, complex, construct of a game. Challenging and tremendous- and so, so very vast in posibilities. I frickin' Conscentia <3
I am grateful for the chance to experience a game like this. The universe you've created goes so far above and beyond my expectations of a game of this type that can be found in the Play Store
Storyline and gameplay -- enthralling... Can hardly put down.
Most unique game I have ever had a chance to find in playstore
Waiting for updates and new content
Mysterious and very atmospheric
I love this game. Nuff said.
One of the most striking games I've played in my life. Despite still only having a fraction of the planned stories, and the generous amounts of frustration gained trying to progress into different sections, this is the only game that comes to mind, years later, as my "favourite". The deep and captivating lore, iconic setting, and unique view on perception and memory, absolutely overshadow any modern games with impressive graphics and million dollar budgets. Better soundtrack, too.
