Contour Connect

The company went bankrupt. Support is no longer available. The height and speed work in storyteller but the google maps api does not. It's sad because it was a good gps camera.

Cannot connect! Contour customer service is horrible! They don't contact you at all! I wouldn't buy another Contour product at all! Save your money and buy something else!

Never could get it to work so I went out and bought a GoPro camera

Given that the company is kaput, is it possible to get one of these cameras going or am I just wasting my time? Thanks

Borrowed the contour gps from work. I was really excited to use it, until i found out just how crappy it and the app are. I've spent hours trying to set it up to no avail. I've reformatted the card dozens of times. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I thought i had it working, i took the camera to my local hill, everything was going good until i got home. The only video i got was my first chairlift ride, everything after was corrupt. Just say no to contour.

Update your contour first. Once that is done go to your "settings" on your phone. Then click on your "bluetooth". Run the scan and click on whatever you named your contour. Make sure you have the contour app open while doing this, and it will connect everytime. Ta-da! Tired of seeing horrible reviews from people who can't use some simple problem solving skills.

It took me a little bit to figure it out, but once I did, it works perfectly. You must have the Bluetooth on and the two paired for it to work on your phone. You must have the Bluetooth off in order to connect your camera to the computer and view your videos if you wish. Or, just take the SD card out and view them that way. Either way, it works perfectly. Love it. Can't wait to put it to use, too. Oh, make sure the battery on your phone is up if you're going to use the App much. Just one of those normal things to look out for no matter what you're doing.

not sure if it's the software, hardware or both at fault, but connecting android devices (for me, galaxy s2, s3, note 10.1) is pretty hopeless. in the extremely rare cases the bt connection works, the remote functionality is annoyingly limited. perhaps time to upgrade to a gopro hero3 black edition...

I have an Samsung S3, which I paired to the Contour +2. After following the directions, it worked great out of the box. I got a second one, but it didn't pair with my camera, but it took great video. That is all I needed for a second camera. I may send it back for repairs.

Really pleased to discover the app works with my original Roam flashed with Roam 2 firmware (version 2.16). Connected camera to my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge via a USB OTG cable. Allows me to change camera settings, view recorded view and delete if required. Has breathed new life in to my Contour Roam.

I downloaded the app to my HTC1X. I have used this phone with my Contour+ with little problems. I had to uninstall the app and re-install it. However I am unable to move the app to the shortcut plus it won't pair with the cameras. But I won't give up because I know it will work. I have faith in Contour. I now have 4 cameras, the oldest is a Model 1300 HD1080P, Contour+ and 2 Contour+2s. I won my 1st Contour in Aug. 2011 from Contour. I still enjoy them. 2-2019 changed phone to Samsung note 5.

Doesn't seem to work. I have a Contour GPS and am having absolutely no luck. Updated the FW and downloaded the latest App. I did read the reviews before I purchased the camera and well, thought it would be OK. Guess I should have listened to the hundred of negative comments on here.

I really like my contour +2 but this application needs some serious work. The mic settings on my computer show up to level 59 though that may not even be right but in this app on my galaxy s3 it only shows to level 42. The # is visible on the app if changed on the pc but if you change it in the app it will not let you go passed 42... that is very annoying as at times I need to make adjustments on the fly but can't because the app doesn't allow the adjustments tk work.

If the ability to view your shot via smartphone is what you are looking for, avoid Contour Connect. The only way I have managed to connect is by doing a fresh install and rebooting phone and camera EVERY TIME. Contour, please sort this out. (Galaxy S4)

I seen a lot of negative comments but I bought the contour camera on sale to give it a shot and I have the s4 and they seem to work fine together. together. Didnt want the gopro bc I didnt wanna strap it to the middle of my head, I prefer the side mount on the headstrap for the contour.

Contour made a great camera with awful software support. It's obvious they can't rebound after closing doors few years back. It's a 50/50 chance software works on phone and computer. I've owned my contour for over 2 years and get frustrated every attempt to use the app. Trust my my phone is in great condition for the people saying clean your phone up!? S7edge here. Sad guess I'm in the market for a Garmin Sony or gopro.

I used this app for a long time to do exactly what it was supposed to do, use it as a view finder. After not using it for about 3 weeks I tried using it again in prep for a climbing event I'm going to and was unable to use it for its primary function as the view finder. Both my phone and tablet are able to find the Bluetooth but the app can't seem to do its job and find it. I'll probably switch to something better in the near future and discourage others from using this product.

Pair the phone with Galaxy S3 first before opening the app, then open the Contour App and its works. Don't be a dum dum and just open app and expect it to work like I did first. Works good, sorta limited in function, but same limits as phone. It's a contour, not a Panasonic HVX200.

I have a Contour+2. It's such an expensive camera and I'm extremely disappointed that this feature never works. It never pairs with my Android device and is extremely frustrating when I'm trying to get footage doing sports or I'm out and about. Seriously I get a better connection and clearer image from a £23 Chinese action camera I bought off eBay, as it connects through its own Wi-Fi, not Bluetooth. Poor effort.

Difficult to pair with galaxy s3, and has limited useability when paired. Video feed is poor quality, and so jerky as to be useful for static framing only. camera settings are limited compared to the PC. This app is only suited for limited "in the field" adjustment and framing. use a USBOTG cable and file browser to access and view vide stored on cameras sd card..

I could not get the app to pair with the camera. Frustrating. Finally tried to pair the device with phone manually by turning Bluetooth off and back on. Paired. Started app and voila. Working. Hope this helps.

I have the 2+. The app has no problems connecting or updating the camera. The gps assist and time update features work well. I appreciate the ability to chage settings with out a computer, but the only useful thing from this app is the ability to see what the camera sees while setting up. **CONTOUR PAY ATTENTION HERE: If I can send video from the camera via Bluetooth to phone, Why can't I review my videos on my phone?? I dont want to wait 5hrs, download to a PC and find out I missed the shot!! GAME OVER!

app worked good on 1.19. now with the app update i can't update the firmware on the camera. absolutely useless. GOPRO here i come.
