It's great to have your blood sugar device sync with your phone, but the syncing part is sporadic -- there is no 'sync now' function. This is annoying at first but you know that the readings will all get synced in due time.
Stopped syncing. Unpaired and attempted to pair again but will not. Connected to internet, Bluetooth on both devices, WiFi on, blue light blinking for pairing. Won't pair.
Love this machine but it didn't come with anything I was able to locate the testing strips but can't find the needles at all have to use my mother's can't keep doing that. But the machine connect with app great.
I did enjoy this app quite well but lately it hasn't been working. The last few days it won't even open. I had a Dr's appt & can't give the Dr any of the information that is needed since can't open it. Not good if randomly works. That doesn't help me or the Dr for my Diabetes.
I love this app. Love to be able to see the trend. I wish we could send the results easily to a doctor or a loved one could follow my results when I enter them.
It keeps me on schedule for medication. I would like it test my A1c level; maybe an update on this instrument? Otherwise I am well pleased.
The login boxes are not compatible with my accessibility app and prevent password input. It is also difficult to copy and paste into the box. There is a Bluetooth pairing notification that is hidden because the app is always in full screen mode, so pairing repeatedly failed until I swiped down to see the notification. Finally, having the app needlessly in full screen mode causes difficulty navigating out of the app for people with dexterity issues as it requires swiping up to show the nav bar.
It really helps me to keep my hypoglycemia under control. The only thing I can't seem to get to work is where it figures out your patterns. How many days does it take to get the patterns to come up and if not that problem then how do I get it to do it?
I use a password manager that generates a random password, typically significantly longer than 8 characters. The Contour app would not let me paste in the auto-generated password, but wanted me to type each character in by hand. I stopped right there. Will someone please let me know when this is fixed? I am interested in what this app really can do. From the description, also no special characters are allowed in the password. Not a very impressive first impression 9/22/21. 1/23/22 No better.
It's buggy. I've been using it since July 14, 2018. Sometimes it thinks I'm in a different time zone (the little airplane icon appears). The reminders are always an hour late. Notes almost never stay the first time; I have to enter them twice (now, I always select all and copy before I click done). The app has started going to the first date of record and I have to scroll... scroll... scroll to get to the newest entry. Entering text beyond the first few lines is guesswork because the text window stays at the top. You have to keep hiding the keyboard to see what you've typed. Oh, and the "Send error report" does not load a destination email address. So, you can't send an error report.
Amazing! I was hesitant based on comments but I'm glad I didn't let it deter me. I had no problems with setup or compatibility. Daily readings are a breeze, with immediate update to my phone. It tracks the history and provides pdf reporting, though report formats are limited. The unit has a red-yellow-green color indicator for high/low readings, and warns for abnormal trends. Look for the test strips that don't require coding to eliminate the need for control solution. Bottom line: Love it!!!
1st day. I find this app is pretty difficult to use, specially logging in food, I have to look up everything to find out the carbs count. Also syncing takes time to have the information on my other devices. I have to use a second app to find the carbs of all the food. I also think that it is kind of complicated. It needs to be more simple than that. I like the app "Lose it" a lot because it gives all choices for the food when you look it up, even with different brands and restaurants' name.
Very nicely done app. It's easy to use and convenient. Needs an indication that the meter is connected. Would also be nice to delete unused labels (user ID). Otherwise, I find the app very clear and concise. Automatically recording your glucose history is so important for keeping up with your trends. It's perfect for aiding in diet and exercise adjustment to maintain control of your diabetes.
The application as advertised would be great, but it started to be difficult to get it to accept a reading everytime. I have to turn on and off both the meter and the app several times to get it to accept a test reading. I would also like to be able to send my readings to either my computer or printer. I could do that with my old meter. Update: the update did not improve it's operation. Still freezes.
I like that the app syncs seamlessly with the meter. Visually the app is well designed and provides visual results quickly. However, the graphing and averaging functions of the app are not accurate. The trend function does not report any trends for me. If the graphing functions were more accurate and had a better display. I would have given the app a better rating.
2nd review. Failure of this tool continues to escalate. No change to phone nor other applications. The Contour application only works with Manual entry now. Still requires all entries to be performed twice. It worked great on the same phone for a year. The degradation makes no sense. If I don't find resolution I will be buying a competing product.
Good, but needs more improvement. I wish there was a way to delete medications from the list that I no longer take. I would like to be able to edit my A1C, I entered the wrong number, now its permanent. Syncing is impossible....I use it on 2 devices and it seems to never sync. Would like a web login to see and print reports. Lastly, reports are a bit blurry. So, yeah, needs improvement
The app is trash. It can never connect with the cloud servers or your device. In addition, rather than allowing you to put your data in manually when not connecting, it kicks you out to the login screen. I even uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck. The device is great; however, the app - not so much. Get your cloud server together, guys.
The app itself looks nice, but it refused to sync with my phone after an update. The whole reason I went with this meter was because of the Bluetooth sync functionality. Luckily I got it free, although I still had to pay for their expensive strips. I have since switched to OneTouch Viero Flex. It syncs to all my devices without any issue. Their strips are less expensive too!
App does not always sync right. Example: I may test at 2:00 am on the 19th of January and the app jumps back to January 7 with option to come forward only to the 8th. Very frustrating. I'm using the Contour Next One and am ready to throw it and the app away and go back to the Contour Next USB, which I loved. I tried tho One w/app because I liked the idea of adding notes. I have also had difficulties posting insulin dosages or notes and will sometimes have to post the same thing several times.
I do not trust this app. With this new meter and app my readings are about 20 points higher than my other testing equipment. Also app freezes up a lot. The app is also labor-intensive and set up can be a pain. That is if you're lucky enough to get it to work . I am uninstalling the app and will not use this meter. Going back to my old reliable one. During install it would hang out while putting in your ZIP code and it would hang up while putting in eight emergency contact number. Not worth it.
poorly conceived functionality. very little in the way of useful data evaluation. unable to remove anomalous tests or review specific test types - ie fasting vs non. app does not automatically sync to tester after a test. very frustrating experience using this app and monitor. must also create multiple accounts to access all features of the monitor and of contour - need to consolidate systems into single sign on. online registration of monitor is not available - phone registration klunky and difficult to navigate. as a package, not an easy system to use. have spent much time setting up and trying to find basic functionality not available .... or if it is, not user friendly --- and i am a senior support engineer. would return it if i could.
Limits the number of things that can be added in the notations section. Such as medications or meals. Once the maximum number has been reached, the app starts to deselect items thus resulting in inaccurate reporting. For instance, I take four medications at once, and it only allows you to select three so I have to leave one of then off or selecting food to report carb counts. This is my only complaint with the app, otherwise my experience has been very good.
UPDATE Aug 1, 2019: App kept freezing and crashing for 8 months. Finally got an update that corrected the problem. No crashes or reinstalls in over 5 weeks. Working flawlessly. The developer responded to my negative post, but I never needed to contact them because an update corrected everything. I'm now keeping this app, the meter, and seeing the benefits of electronic tracking. Thanks Ascensia.
Update: I spoke to customer service and they got me working! When the app runs, it requires full screen and hides the control bar. The app looks nice, very useful ... once I got signed in. I have no way to minimize or exit the app on my phone, so verifying the email during setup/sign-in was problematic. Having to restart my phone to exit the app also means I won't be syncing with my Next One very often. My rating will no doubt go up if this issue is ever fixed.
Newbie to diabetes testing. Have the Contour one meter and related hardware to see where I'm at. Totally relied on the app from initial Bluetooth setup. The app could be more feature rich I suppose. Everything went great though. Add notification sounds via the phone would be nice if possible. Having my notes in the reports would be great and the reports seem kinds squished. Overall, I'm happy with the app, lancets, strips and lancing device. Wish Aetna Med. paid for this instead of One Touch.
The Contour Next One meter and app worked for 5 weeks, then the meter stopped working - saying date range on meter was not within range of application on phone. Yet had the correct date on both devices - nothing worked to show dates being out of sync. Then application failed on phone -froze at beginning when sync began eventually it wont open at all. Useless on my phone. Loaded application on my tablet - worked well for 2 months, then same problems and then it wouldn't sync with cloud servers. Useless again. Reports were excellent when I could get them generated now I cant even make manual entries in the app since it just stops working all the time. Time to find another system that's more dependable. I'd pay for this app if it worked, but sadly it does not. The meter now is just like any other on the market. If anyway to fix or mitigate errors please advise.
Great overall. One thing that I would really like is removing readings . Once you take a reading there's no way to remove it. If I happen to record my wife's reading accidentally, or take a contaminated reading I need to fix, it's there forever affecting the stats and plots . Please add removal function. Also it would be great if it could support multiple user profiles with a simple selection without the need to re-login. Thanks.
The app is basically OK. It records and displays the data from the meter but not much beyond that. One of the biggest issues with health data management today is open interoperability. This app has NONE. I should be able to export or share my data with other apps such as Google Fit or my my Dr's EHR system. The API's are available for doing this. I really like the device, the app, not so much.
Some important glitches that are no good when generating a report to your doctors. 1. Testing numbers overlap in report so you can't see the numbers. 2. Report doesn't let the viewer read your inputted notes/meals, etc. Also, inputting food data incorrectly and trying to go back to fix, it does let you change what carbs and other info you preset, instead you have to try and delete, which is a problem too.
