The app seems to be quite usable with good architecture and somewhat simple structure, not to say that it's always logical. I travel much in Yukon, NWT, British Columbia in Canada, Alaska, and Minnesota as well as other states in the USA. In many of those places the drives between supply points (say gas) are close to the limit of the gas I have, so if I get lost and need to drive extra 100 miles or so I may be in big trouble because those roads in some case have nearly no traffic, like a vehicle or two per day, sometimes less. So the reliability of the GPS I have is very important for me. And this is where I have problem with this app. On number of occasions this app went crazy and failed. Luckily it always was right after installing updates. I'm very much afraid to have GPS failure somewhere in a wilderness without any way to fix it that's why I seriously consider now (after yet another failure here at home that followed an update) to drop it and find something more reliable. So far I submitted my ticket and will see how it'll be resolved. From my experience support is not so great on this app and sometimes they are not in a big rush on those tickets.
I've been using this app since before it changed hands. Through a decade of use and dozens of phones and tablets I kept using it, but lately I've been relying more on Google maps. Copilot takes a minute to load whereas Google starts in less than 2 seconds. I really miss when ALK had control because the app was definitely much better then. I'm uninstalling it right after I post this. Google, Sygic, Tom Tom and others all work better... plus Google is at least free. Goodbye.
After recent update, starting takes an even longer time than before (over a minute) making it useless when I'm driving. It has an awkward user interface. When a technical issue comes up, the technical support is friendly but ineffective. I've been told that issues will be referred to development and then they rush to mark the item as resolved. From my perspective nothing has been fixed and they're rushing to get rid of me. I've stopped using this app in favor of others that work better
There was a time when CoPilot was a valued app on my phone. I do and did mostly rely on Google Maps for navigation, but when unexpectedly out of data range it was good to have CoPilot to fall back on. But those occasions have become fewer. Meanwhile the clunky interface has become tiresome. The last straw today was when I tried to get CoPilot going on my new phone. I struggled to get LastPass to help me log in but it had trouble with the clunky interface too — I had to resort to copying and pasting username and password — and then CoPilot insisted I change my password, with requirements like a maximum number of characters (bad idea) and you HAVE to have this this or this special character but you CANNOT have any others, and so on, and when I finally got a new password entered twice, and matching, it presented me with this illustrious error message: "WE'RE SORRY". And a suggestion to follow a web link to a support page. And it would not let me proceed further. Enough. Uninstalling.
I would like an option to long press on the screen, so an option is available to highlight an error. I.e being routed through a bridge that is too low (notifying copilot of the actual bridge height. That is a lot easier than sending messages. But it is a really good satnav. Easy to use and usually very accurate. This is my 3rd year using it.
This is a reliable backup to my Garmin, but it's even more exasperating than the Garmin when it comes to saving a destination etc. To preload and save a route in advance takes a stupid amount of steps. Why on earth you can't just 'long press' on a previous destination to save it is beyond me (and obviously the app designers too) Likewise with removing a route. If that was improved, the Garmin would be history - but I ain't holding my breath!
Not used the app in a while and it wouldn't load up. I uninstalled it 9n my Galaxy S9, then reinstalled and changed my password. It initially let's me open the app, but then it closes straight away. I tried again by uninstalling and reinstalling, but always the same problem. If this is what happens after a few months of not using the app, then it's not worth a penny...
I'm an over the road truck driver and I like this app a lot. There are no foolproof navigation apps as things are constantly changing but this is a really good one. It has never gotten me into trouble. Only 1 time in the last 3 years, that I'm aware of, has it put me on a restricted route. I believe that route had recently been changed, a bypass had been opened in just the last week or so. Keep your eyes open and this tool will help make your life easier
Have been trying to use this, but compaired to free google maps its not worth the fee. Clumsey interface and difficult to get views i 2ant or zoom in nd have street names in a text I can see. One improvement i would suggest in the dashboard, let me zero, or adjust, a trip meter that i can use as needed.
The old version (CoPilot Truck) was better. I had a hard time getting the day/night mode working and had to open a support ticket. I recently encountered a bridge closure that CoPilot's active traffic didn't detect nor did the map show it was closed. It took me 10 miles out of route when there was a 2 mile detour. Sometimes it trys to put me down a path that is way longer than necessary. Other than that it's a great app.
Can't find a way to navigate to a city. Why change it? Sometimes the options are grey and I'm not even driving If I have already downloaded maps to the internal memory can I move and copy them to SD memory cards and expect it to work on the same phone and on another android? I don't want to have to download them again while abroad. Many thanks
The App works well in General. There is Some detail missing from the map at times which can make finding very specific off beat areas a liitle more difficult to find. I especially like the Plan trip feature, then save for later.
I've been using Copilot for several years through various versions. I drive a motorhome/RV and often want a leisurely journey avoiding motorways. Trimble have now screwed this up. Despite selecting "Strongly Avoid" motorways it still routes along them. When a none motorway route is offered it's excessively circuitous. I raised this with Support and was regaled with reams of self-justifying bullshine telling me to set up way points.
I have been using copilot now for at least 10 years before I retired from truck driving. Definitely worth every penny. Even in my personal life, I use it a lot. The app constantly updates to keep the maps current. I don't even use Google maps. I only use copilot. An awesome GPS system.
This app has a bug which has been wasting a lot of my time, by causing the app to be extremely slow in certain situations. Also, the voice navigation has a quality which has become extremely annoying to me.
Online form doesn't work and I cannot find a place to unsubscribe. One shouldn't have a difficult time unsubscribing. I cannot even find an email address. There's an online form but you have 2 fields that have drop down choices that are required, but don't actually work. If you design an app please test it and make sure it works. Please!!
When doing multiple Stops in Vancouver,BC, lower Mainland this app cant find 30 percent of the companys or adresses. Yelp is pretty much useless, i would switch to Google. Also, canada maps are way outdated. Had to switch to " Circuit" app, to do my 25 deliveries and pick- ups.
I rely on this app a lot, especially with live traffic. Sometimes it takes very weird routes off motorway junctions just to bring you back on. Always go with your instinct though.
Hi. Please make changes to the UI, a redesigned Minimal UI would be amazing. Also please find a way to integrate with Google maps and android auto.
Even after map update still very dangerous directions M3 (towards London) to M25 for Heathrow Airport, Absolute rubbish 😡 , still not fixed after numerous emails to and from Copilot over the past year 😡 still very dangerous lane guidance at this junction 😡 " Please follow the lane signage and definitely not Copilot" for M25 clockwise. (New quarter 1 map update 2022, still not fixed) 🤔
Just set up 14 day free trial, changed settings to only route heavy articulated vehicles (40t) and its immediately sending me via a route that's not even suitable for 7.5t 😤
Good solid program. Finding a place can be tedious but all of Europe a great feature
I struggle with this app. Sometimes it works beautifully and other times it gets stuck and I can't even load an address to plan a trip. I would also love to plan a trip on the computer in the app which sync's to my phone. I'm visually impaired and having a large screen to plan would be amazing. Also, I'd also like to see rv friendly gas stations listed.
This is one of the worst apps I've used. Mostly refuses to find my internet connection, although other apps do, so it says can't check licence. Use free version. For limited time. The developers don't bother to record the licence in the installation. So I contacted the developers, for a different issue. Guess what, although they say for cars trucks, vans it's for mobiles. So no intention of fixing bugs. This product is missold. Expensive trash. AVOID!!!
Forced to download Europe or North America with no Australia option, even though it was listed on the website, so I gave up.
Used for years. Very little updates. UI could seriously use a refresh. Cannot zoom in/out on maps. No full screen. Maps are often incorrect. Sending a report is a waste of time. Voices could use an update. All map icons could use an update. More POI's on map would be nice. More options in general would be nice. Price for traffic is high considering it's free for other options.
Very good route navigation and traffic rerouting, which is why I've been using it for several years. However, navigating the app itself is clunky in places. In particular no obvious way of clicking on a map to set a destination, nor of using a postcode, nor the ability to directly paste coordinates from Google Maps / OpenStreetMap. The ability to display the app on a vehicle's screen would also be useful. This makes it difficult to recommend the app as positively as I would like to.
