This app is awesome! I wanted a free couch to 5K timer app just so I can run and not worry about my time or to look at my phone. For a free app this has it all! 5 and 10k running plans, indoor running mode, only one ad per exercise, GPS outdoor mode, built in music player, use of a music app you have on your phone, screen lock, keep your screen from going to sleep, and SO MANY MORE! Very easy to use, even my kids use it!!!

Having previously used the NHS version, this is much more useful as you also get the stats from your sessions and the added bonus of moving on to 10k after completing 5k. The very first impression was that I'd like to have a slight warning before each exercise (i.e. "get ready to run/walk for x amount time in 3-2-1.."), but you quickly get used to the sudden announcements. My only frustration is that after a completed session, the app seems to freeze for a significant time.

I love all the stats it gives you at the end: distance, speed, elevation changes, etc. The biggest problem is that the app doesn't have a "don't sleep" toggle like other apps, and my phone's only sleep settings are 10 min max so I have to fiddle with it a few times during the workout or it'll close the app and lose all your day's progress. It also doesn't have an option to extend the workout if you end up walking longer than the 28 minutes. The voice is pretty robotic but that's OK.

Good app. All of the features I want in a running app except for two things. I have to use a different media player (which is fine) because this app doesn't give any ability to make a playlist (just plays all music on the phone). Second issue is the only reason I might switch apps and that is that they don't give a pace/speed breakdown in chunks to see how the run went. Only available data is average plus max speed/pace.

Very useful app. I started feeling like I was going to die running 90 seconds at a time. Now I've finished the 5k portion, am regularly running 4 miles at a time, and just today started the 10k program. One problem. Posting runs to FB has started crashing FB. I recognize it's probably an API change on their side. But, it only shows up for me with this app. And only started in the last several weeks.

i really like this app. It has voice prompts so you dont have to keep looking at the time or worry about missing an interval change and it gives you all the stats so you can see how well you are getting on each time. Although the gps tracker only picked up the 5 min of walking today so it made it look like it took 31 min to run 0.37 km but it is free!!

great until you change your phone. Someone at the other end has been very helpful trying to sort out using the back up etc but it just doesn't work. The guy has even been able to show me a screen shot of what it should look like (ie just what it had looked like on my old phone) but it just isn't picked up by restore. so yes use it but not if you know you'll be changing your device whilst doing so. I was only 2 weeks off completing 10k 😭

I really like this app a lot, when it works correctly. I am on Week 5, Day 1. 95% of the time, after I've finished a run, my screen dims and I'm not presented with the "end" screen, where I get my stats, etc and where I can select a smiley face, as to how I felt my run went. Out of the first 4 weeks, the app only worked correctly 3 or 4 times. Thankfully, the app acknowledges I completed my run, as the next time I start the app I'm presented with the subsequent run. However, I would like to be able to see my stats each time. My buddy has a different phone than I do, and we run together. He has no issues with his app. I have a Google Pixel 3.

Good basic time guides while playing my own music. Sometimes I would like an encouraging comment or notification that I'm halfway through the longest run or that I have one minute left until the cool down? Gives a bit of a boost when you're feeling tired! After using it the first week it failed to record any of my distances correctly and them called me a turtle. That sucked after running faster progressively. Gave it 3 more chances but no more. Definitely won't use it again.

I've just completed my first week and I'm pleased I got this app. However, the app is frozen when I try to use my phone at the end of the run, after the cool down period. I read another review that recommends going into the app before the cool down part is done. I will try that, but I really shouldn't need to. There is a padlock icon at the bottom of the screen in the app which makes me think it's locked, rather than frozen, but there is no obvious way to unlock it if that is the case. Also, it would be great if there is a notification, be it verbal or a sound that indicated you are coming to the end of a walk to prepare for the next run. Also, some kind of audible notification when the run has 10 or so seconds left. There were a few occasions that I did not complete a run only to find 5 seconds after I started walking the run was stopping anyway. One other suggestions would be an audible notification when you are about the start the final run. I can't be the only one that if I knew a particular run was going to be the last of the session it would give me a bit of a boost. I would rate this higher and maybe only 3 stars is a bit harsh, but there's always room to make an app the perfect app.

Great app in terms of helping to build up stamina over a period of weeks but I have found that if I skip a session or repeat a session its messing up the remainder of the workout. So for example if i complete a walk session and wanted to do that session again, the times go out of sync, "Run for 60 seconds" and after 20 its telling me to "Walk for 90 seconds".... 40 seconds later "Walk for 90 seconds" followed 10 seconds later with "Run for 60 seconds" ... ruins the rest of the workout.

I have used this app many times over the years to help me get back into running and i have been successful each time. I would love an option where you could add additional intervals (as i often do 1-5 extra intervals). Also it would be great if you could provide a synopisis of the week ahead or even when one opens the next workout to see what the intervals are so one is mentally prepared rather than having to wait til the end of the warm up to find out how.long the interval will be this run.

Edit: 3rd attempt. App guided throughout run but still logged nothing. Will try another app. Did as the developer suggested and took my phone off power saving, but this time the app stopped towards the end of the run. When I checked my phone when I got home there was a "are you sure you want to end this session" message. I hadn't touched my phone during the run, so I'm not sure if this was a glitch, or because someone had sent me a message whilst I was out. Run not logged at all again.

First time I used the app it worked perfectly. The second time i used it the app said do a 5 min warm up then it told me to run then it stopped saying anything and closed itself. Restarted app skipped warm up as id already warmed up once, did the whole workout got to the cool down and when I arrived home and looked at the app it has closed down again and had not recorded any of it! What a waste of my time and it was chucking it down with rain and i have not data to show for it.

Decent for a free app but an old version so goes off mid run which is less than ideal. Meaning i have to restart it and skip to where i was. The app then says you were slow because you've missed half of it. Ive started a timer on my phone separate to let me know when the interval is over. That being said, its got me running so thats a win for me!

This app is just what I'm looking for when I wanted to start a running routine and found out about C25K. Each run shows the walking/running schedule you go thru and there is a voice that speaks out how long you walk or run. only problem I see is that the screen seems to freeze (the screen darkens) after I finish a run, making me force close and open the app again (it still retains info from the run tho). And I thought the ads were not really intrusive while browsing thru the app.

I like this app. My only problem is I wish I could change the pacing, I am a complete beginner and this is quite hard. That or I can customise when I walk, jog and the time for each. It would also be good if i choose to repeate workouts that it doesn't replace the one I already did. Would be good to be able to compare. (I'm not sure if I can for the same workout please correct me if I'm wrong).
