Countdown Game For Android
Based on the popular British TV game show, players get the chance for an authentic experience at:
• Letters Round: Player must attempt to make the longest word possible from nine randomly chosen letters. (excluding proper nouns, hyphenated words, some plurals of mass nouns, and words that occur only in combination)
• Numbers Round: Player must use arithmetic to reach a random target number from six other numbers.
• Conundrum Round: Player must unjumble a 9-letter anagram arranged in the form of two condensed words.

Two thoughts: 1. The numbers game is impossible without parentheses 2. Unless I'm competing against other people, the 30 second time limit should be optional. Further, the interface to input number calculations is slow enough that even if you instantly solve, you still need all the time just to input the answer
Been playing this for ages, great for killing a bit of time. Read somewhere about shuffling tbe letters, just shake your phone to do this. Only reason i am rating 4/5 and not 5/5 is sometimes you get the conundrum correct but it comes up as incorrect also the working out of the maths round auto generated does not always add up eg numbers should be in brackets to work.
would be 5 if there was a way to extend or freeze the clock. A way to play standard time verses an opponent. Finally a choice of alarm calls. these are a bit harsh. but v.good all in all.
I have a lot of fun with this app although it's not quite true to the tv game. Allowing words like Texas is outside the normal rules. It would be nice to have a pause button when using the practice mode. Heaps of fun though! I would quite happily pay for this game.
Too often we get repeated letters in the same round. Many times I've had letter rounds consisting of scenarios like 3 P's 3 E's 2 T,s and an A. Mechanics are great, letters just need tweeking.
As much as I tried to like this it just ends up with me deinstalling it in frustration. And i do keep going back to it. I've played this a lot and where it falls down are it's letter distributions which are plain awful. 28/11/21 Deinstalled again. I swear this game us for the Klingon alphabet.
I enjoy this game but it would be better if you had other time options apart from 30 secs. Another option I would like to see is a way to mix the order of the letters.

Very fun and no ads. But sometimes on the conundrum it says correct but shows a red screen and no points.
It's my turn to host online Game Night this week and I was looking for a way to play Countdown via Zoom. This app is just what I needed - thanks!
Unfortunately it's been years since this game had any maintenance and it's very buggy. Too bad because it was most like the show so far.
entertaining but has a seemingly very limited dictionary, maths in numbers rounds is too simplistic to be playable, spoils an otgerwise good concept
I love this Countdown Game. this Countdown Letters and Numbers Game is Very Good. When i close the Game and Open Game back it doesn't save Turn On Sound.

It works very well but the dictionary used must be non UK English as Spaniard and various other words aren't in there, and there are plenty of bizarre words that don't exist.
Occasionally has the conundrum round answer be the same as the scrambled word. Still a pretty great game.
Auto letter selection is terrible and kicks in too quickly. No 2 player option. Is it normally 4 letters to 1 numbers?
hours of fun and getting better every go. Good for challenging the old brain.
It played fine for the first game. Then since then wont stop crashing every time i push start game.

Good game, but sometimes don't get the points for correct conundrum, specifically when "EMACULATE" was the answer on 2 occasions
I enjoy the challenge of quick thinking both creating words and number crunching.
Would be nice to be able adjust the timings and to choose easy/ medium/ hard conundrums
Keeps stopping gives wrong answers on maths questions too. And have to start again not good.
i have no idea what dictionary is used but there are definitely words made up by the developer. Just had my 3rd conundrum that isn't in the english dictionary
mute, dnd, and it still plays sounds! some of us prefer to not disturb those around us
3 word's not recognised even though they was in the list after the allotted 30 seconds SO IT'S A NO FROM ME
A good game. Harder than the tv game because you have to type the answers within the 30 seconds rather than give them when the time's up, maybe it could of been just 5 seconds to give your answer at the end of the time while the letters then disappear or while you type it in or something like that could of been a different approac. But all in all a very good game. One big bonus, no annoying ads interrupting game play, though they could do those just like the tv ad breaks.
