Coverage - Cell and Wifi Network Signal Test

Coverage creates your own personal cell and WiFi coverage map based on signal strength readings from your phone.

See where your device has better signal strength and where it encounters dead zones. Put your carrier's claims to the test by creating your own personal coverage map and by performing your own speed tests.

Test your network performance
- Map your cell and WiFi coverage
- Works with GSM, CDMA, UMTS, and LTE cell networks
- Uses accurate WiFi and cell signal strength readings from your phone
- Find dead zones on your commute
- Speed test your connection
- Swap SIM cards and compare your coverage on different carriers

Lots of interesting WiFi and cell statistics about your phone
- Your average LTE signal strength
- How many new cell towers you saw today
- How much of your time does your phone spend connected to WiFi
- How much of your time does your phone spend on an LTE network
- Your average WiFi signal strength
- Much more

This app is cool but useless due to the lack of two massively important feature. It doesn't have any ability to backup data, so if your phone goes missing, breaks or has to be formatted then months to years of data is gone. So the ability to backup and restore, or even export data(colored) and import it to Google Earth would be unbelievably useful. ALSO, it isn't crowd sourced like OpenSignal, which probably gets paid by networks to fluff data and isn't as detailed as Coverage is.

so far so good. Wish it had a legend to tell you what the color levels are. One would have to assume red is worst and green is best. However, having a scale associated with the colors would be helpful. Also after the initial start up there are no instructions. Do you need to have the app open to build your map?

I am now having frequent issues where it simply says 0 visible cells even though there are 4 or 5 in other apps. Will not record accurately, wont start working again even after restart. I haven't figured a way to get it to record when it want it to either with it up and running while driving or using background mode I still have this issue. Please update this app. I have tried sending you guys my device info through the app but it's not setup correctly and attempts to send a text message.

Awesome idea generating a personal coverage map. It would be great if I could see what LTE band I'm connected to, map sharing so others can see and aggregate, and if I could back the data up somehow. Thanks. It's going to be interesting to see how my new phone compares using the same network but different bands and if I can get improved coverage in previously bad areas.

This app could be better for the simple reason what it does... Only one does it well - Open Signal. So this app needs to be updated & compete. Also the sound 🔊 effecfs are unnecessary & childish I feel. Rather the visual affects (UI) needed to be improved instead of sound effects. Best of Luck.

only 4 stars because i did not have enough time to test it. It does all that is advertised. As a casual user who recently changed his provider i wanted to congratulate myself for my choice and wanted to measure what it did to my connectivity during my ride to work. I got just what i wanted a total change for my connectivity compared to my provider before. thanks ;o)

This is great app but the map is a little confusing. It does not seem to locate the cell towers on the map. Anyway I just wanted an easy way to determine signal strength and this does the trick. I dont think it has any ads which makes it worth 5 stars.

REALLY Helps discover good coverage spots. Would be outstanding is aggregated cell carrier average historical coverage data was shared with you when entering a new area, but this is the next best thing, and does it a way that saves you time. Really appreciate this app when I visit new rural areas!

This app is sssssmoking!!! It's completely FREE! Works like a champ! User friendly highly recommend! Hey reviewer Dave. Im sure you know where to disable the sound. Retraction? Really. Love this app and the big thing I truly appreciate is NO ADS AND NO PURCHASES! Can not stand it when you download an app that does not have in-app purchases only to find out that yes it has in-app purchases.

Graphics are great but mean nothing the app shows the cell tower in use and other info that a typical person won't know. In my case and for many others we are looking for the bands being used in plain language. I know that some may extrapolate this info from what you are displaying but the rest of us are clueless.

I really love this app but all I ask is that you add a download for offline option, when I'm on the road I want to see where I will have service, but without WiFi, I can't view the live map unless I pre load it with WiFi, works amazing otherwise but please please make that an option.

Wow. Just what i needed. App helps a lot in low signal area. Graphics could be better. Once it collects data you can find signal spot in no signal area. Thanks team. Keep improving.

exactly what it says on the tin. the only issue i have is that the interpolation between datapoints doesn't work very well (lots of artifacts). useful app

Ummm so this doesn't show what other people have mapped? Edit: so they've made some changes and I can now map Verizon, Xfinity Mobile, StraightTalk, and T-mobile. I used to use Sensorly but they've abandoned their app. Keep up the good work ladies and gents! 5 stars

Great app but a major battery user without help on how to minimise this.. running in background and using a lot of power is a bad idea and difficult to control for the user.

Eri. J. Jun 16, 2019

Does not run in background on S10. Turned off power management and set to run in background. It stops updating the second it is not the active window.

Ken. B. Nov 11, 2018

Really impressive, give it some time to build a database of readings and you'll be impressed. A simple, usefull, and efficient app.

Jes. H. Aug 26, 2020

Makes a lot of uneccesary noises. Runs in the background, but doesn't display the data it collects in a useful way.

A. G. u. Mar 1, 2019

The IDEA is grand, but understanding the released product is difficult & masked in Google's clutter. Layers are piled on screen to the extent that readibility is trashed. Removing.

Dou. L. Oct 9, 2020

Unclear what the data is telling me. Is it from today?averaged over time? How long a time? I want to see signal coverage with and without a booster. There is no start/stop event to differentiate.

Interesting, really interesting & one can pick_up on things when you really put your mind to it........, the app with the exact technology all around - every day.

Fed. S. May 6, 2021

Map is dark and outdoors the paths and roads can barely be seen. Too little configurations and not too useful.

Fyu. G. Oct 14, 2020

Can't really rate yet, as just installed now. Looks great so far. Just want to let you know that whenever an app won't let me use it until I give a rating, I'll always give a poor rating, because I don't like being nagged

And. A. Aug 4, 2021

Used to be awesome. But it doesn't seem to be able to work with 5G. I show zero towers in the app but full signal on the phone. Limited usefulness now at best

I believe this test application is correct about the actual speed I get, unlike other applications that only test the speed that the provider has determined not the speed that reaches the user.
