Slow to open, my internet is still slow and stops working from time to time when I have less than 5 devices linked up. Now that cox recommended I change my wifi name and password I can't get my Alexa to sync back up to it. There is no option to add a device. My home screen still shows that it's being worked on so I'm not sure what that's all about. If they can get it to work properly it would be a great app.
Cox was throttling our Wi-Fi speed and connectivity on our old plan, they can say they weren't as much as they want, but they were. Because when we finally switched a panoramic wi-fi, the connection increased exponentially despite our prior modem and router working flawlessly. With it comes this awful, awful app. Yes it technically has functions, yes it technically has capabilities, but the app is so slow that you can barely use them. This is of course assuming the app actually loads
Horrible - I'm going to satellite the minute it's available. The service is so bad that I hate paying one cent of my bill! I feel so ripped off every month and I called in to try to get it fixed and they say oh there's nothing wrong but you sit and listen on one of my video conference calls and see how many times it just barely connects and then times out! I pay for the high service and it does absolutely no good!!! The app had to be updated and then it wouldn't load! Horrible customer service!!
App has a bug and won't open. Just loops through loading pages. My internet has been very slow and regularly intermittent (drops out completely). I called cox to have them check out why. I canceled when I found out they were going to charge me $75 at thier discretion to have a tech come out. I've been a cox customer for decades and been happy with my service but NOT ANYMORE. I can't stand paying the crazy price I pay for intermittent service that is weak and constantly drops out.
Horrible app. It never loads and always crashes. Can't get into the app to make the necessary changes needed for my network. This app freezes my phone everytime I try to open it. I could go on and on about the issues ive been having. Cox wifi sucks, the app sucks, customer service sucks...just throw the whole cox away
As of recently this app has started to not work properly. It won't load the information and will just freeze. I can't do a router restart with it so I have to do it online instead through a web browser. Kind of defeats the purpose of the app. Will update If it ever gets fixed.
I'm a new customer. I've downloaded this app multiple times on multiple devices and it won't even load. It takes me to the login, then glitches repeatedly. I've already talked with someone on their online chat feature, and all they said was that there's a problem on their end so I just have to wait for Cox to fix the issue. This was a few weeks ago 😑
Other reviews have commented on the "outages" which could either pertain to network or electrical outages. These are 100% accurate. I have flawless network access right now and just finished setting up some devices but I cannot assign them to the profiles because of this God awful outage message that disables all other functionality.
Works very well. Takes a few seconds to query and load all account data and configuration. Easy to add triggers and port forwards. I wish the IDS/Firewall had more configurability. Overall Cox has improved the Internet service over the years and now 500Mbps/15Mbps of unlimited data for a very reasonable price. WELL DONE COX!
One star because zero isn't an option. This app is pure garbage. It always says there's an outage even though the wifi is clearly working just fine. You can't access anything on the app during a so-called outage, so if you paused a device, good luck connecting it to wifi ever again.
This app can be used to configure your Cox Wifi. By default, both the 2.5 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies (or "channels") come preset with the same name and password for BOTH. Even if you change the name & password, that accesses BOTH 2.5 & 5 Ghz and the router is supposed to deliver whichever option is best at any given time. Very cool! So in the house, it'll be the faster 5 Ghz and outside you should get the longer-reaching 2.5 Ghz! If you want different passwords for each channel, fine... but why?
I love the parents controls and easy to use also easy to navigate through different categories. I would highly recommend Cox have been a customer for years and no major issues. tech support and customer service always friendly and helpful. Thank you Cox!!🙂
Time connected is very inaccurate. Sometimes it doesn't disconnect at all until i get in from work. The connect doesn't connect in a timely manner, hours later it will show connected. Not sure of the problem, because i have the app on two devices, and has the same issues.
I don't know why I switched to cox. Everything worked great for the first month and a half, now even though NOTHING in the house has changed, it's buffering 10-30 seconds per minute, and the support team said I need to pay $80 for a technician to come out and fix the system. Am I stupid, or just not getting that paying for this technician is soo wrong? Fix your SH$!, I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR YOUR PROBLEMS.
The irony of an app that helps you monitor wifi usage, failing to load even the most basic screens is not lost to me. I would really like to have some functionality so that I could use this app as intended.
App does not work! I have tried over and over to use it with my Panoramic wifi. No I don't have chrome either. It just doesn't open. I have have had Panoramic Wifi since it came out. Now I need help with speed etc and the app doesn't work. Cox please fix this and I will adjust my review accordingly. Thank you
Alternate and simple app to monitor the basic settings on the Cox wifi modem/router instead of using a pc to alter the detailed settings on a router. No explanation is given for modifying the broader router settings or for logging onto the Cox wifi with a pc which worries me if the app fails to make changes that a user requires for their home.
It's really cool to be able to reset the gateway without having to first check it and then unplug it and wait 30 seconds... The app diagnoses it fits me and then resets it, if needed. I can do it from any room in the house. Very cool.
2020, the app used to work fine and recently like past 2 weeks it barely leads up. Wth guys??? Please fix, I can't unpause or check usage if I can't load up my app! I'm back in March 2022 can't use my app cause it says I've been in an outage going on a week now but that's false. It's always something with this app so it's not useable, PLEASE FIX!
Crash all the time. Data waste trying to relaunch program over and over. Also, the item it is missing the most is the data usage by actual GB numbers for each device. A bar next to a word high or very high does not help.
Super slow. Everytime I have to reset my router it takes roughly 15 min to get the coxwifi app to load, then another 12 to reset the router. Or, better yet- you need the internet to reset your router, which lost internet. It's a vicious cycle.
Since last update the app shows my gateway as offline. I clear the cache and al and it works untill something reinstalls and it goes back to showing offline. All of my devices work save the ones i have paused, which i cannot unpause because i have to app access. Tech support is ZERO help.
Update: Ran the 5/02 update.... The app STILL doesn't work! Smh. Having the same issue as several reviewers; the app won't load past the sign in screen. As soon as I tap the sign in button, it cycles through several blank pages and then shuts down.
Ever since I changed over to the panoramic Wi-Fi in this app the biggest piece of junk in my 72 years of life. I guess I'm lucky because I do know about computers and have been building them since the nineties so I was able to get into this piece of junk and change out passwords and Wi-Fi names and all of that in order to make it secure.
Not much to say about the app, but the service is sketchy when it is a it's best. Lot of problems with interruptions and tiling on televisions. Shouldn't have these issues when paying for panoramic wifi.
Every time I attempt to open the app it flashes through multiple different screens only to end up right back where I started from at my main screen I have uninstalled this app three times now and reinstalled it you have once will it take me to where I need to go to manage my in network settings I have contacted customer support at Cox and they said must be an app problem and that I could try to log in via Cox Wi-Fi which also does the same thing update reinstalled still not working
App does not recognize the devices on the network so I can't pause devices or determine what's actually on my network. Appears to be a glitch in which it recognizes that the devices were on the network at some point in time.
Constant issues with it going down but before I can get someone on the line, it'll come back up. Goes down couple times a week at random times and no outages in the area.
This app, just like my Cox internet, hardly ever works. My pod goes out all the time and the app cannot troubleshoot or reset it. The app is essentially useless. It is only semi good when it decides to reset my modem.
Very limited options for controlling the network, router, and user devices. The app won't let you kick a device off the network unless it's disconnected. This is a terrible idea as some harmful devices reattach quickly after rebooting the router. Honestly, the app is very frustrating in its limitations. For those of us who are technically able, I'd rather have command line access so I can manually control things.
