This is a very problematic app which seems to be very buggy. Today it doesn't like my signing id or password. The old Cox Connect app worked very well. This change has not been good. I recommend Cox to bring in an experience consultant to redesign and implement it. 7/19/20 Almost 2 months and the app still doesn't work???? Well, uninstalled it and reinstalled it and, gee, it works. Have no idea why. Changed from 1 star to 3 star Wish they had kept the one app does all.
Cox telephone service has always been... iffy... at best. The app mostly served its purpose for me, but I found that notifications often were significantly delayed. For example, this morning I received a notification that I had 2 new voicemail messages. One of those messages was left 18 hours prior to the notification (and I'd already listed to via my "landline" phone.) The second was for a voicemail message that I'd already deleted days prior. No explanation for the delayed notification. With the announcement that Cox is discontinuing this app, It's now clear that they have no interest in staying in the telephone business. When every other major voice provider maintains an app, a provider eliminating their app is a major sign of trouble. Time to switch to another provider that chooses to invest in their infrastructure instead of giving up.
From being completely unable to log in and told that that was my fault, to being able to log in after an update (I didn't do anything differently) but not able to do anything once logged in, I can now log in *and* check my voicemail! I still can't make calls, but credit where it's due: This app is now minimally functional. Don't give up now, Cox, you might actually make this thing work! Edit: Over a year later (October 2019) and I still can't make calls using this. Sigh
The app does exactly what it is described to do and not much else. It has no bells, no whistles, quite frankly nothing but the basics but gets the job done nice and solid. Now if Cox would start adding in a few NICE features like say 'favorites' for your contacts as an example more stars will be added! 😉 Edit: Another nice feature, being a Google Assistant fan, would be adding some way for Google Assistant to call or answer by voice for you! 😊
Good idea, but poorly implemented. Found three different flaws in the app in the first hour that I was using it. 1) Phantom call notification several minutes after an incoming call. 2) Stuck notification that cannot be dismissed. 3) Unresponsive interface for incoming call when phone is locked. Running Android 9 on an LG G7 phone.
If I could give 0 Stars I would. This app is nothing but a piece of garbage. had to uninstall and reinstall six times and then after that kept getting frozen on the app settings page. I've been a customer with this company for almost four years because there are no other options in my area for cable or Internet. This app is no better than their home services 😡
Does not work at all, just like everyone says. No call history, incoming or outgoing. Ring-thru to app does absolutely nothing. So far, all I've been able to do is get voice mail. One, single, voice mail. FIX THIS CR@P, OR TAKE IT OFF THE PLAY STORE.
The regular Cox app dispayed the phone numbers of both incoming and outgoing call without caller ID. This app does neither without caller ID. Not to pleased about that. The regulaer Cox app on its own was fine. I dont understand the need to separate them and then get lesser qualiity. Any time i try to check the call logs the app crashes. Changed my review from 2*s to 1.
When I select to allow incoming calls, Samsung music quits working after first incoming call. Music says phone is in use and refuses to play even tho there is no call. I have to force close voice app to get music back. Has some nice features but can't use all of them.
Miserable. Voicemail takes between 4 and 12 hours to show up on the app. The latest is that the app constantly says that there is a connection error, so it takes 5 minutes of trying to log in to hear that I need a new car warranty. I am looking forward to cancelling my phone line.
It's simply just trash. It constantly crashes, doesnt update me when a call is coming through, doesnt update voicemails, or call logs. Recently I havent been able to even get into the app for almost a month and when i do, it crashes and doesnt give me any updates. It needs fixed.
not the same as "phone tools". Phone Tools is better, because voice everywhere has to be turned on and your cell phone contacts have to be on "just" to keep/get your call history. A History that only show calls from the time your voice everywhere is on an connected to your cellphone. Any calls that do not get sent to your cellphone will not show in you call history or missed calls. Just keep Phone Tools.
So far so good. I just got it and installed it. It was easy. I just received a call from my home landline while I outside from a remote location. Pretty Interesting. Most of the calls we receive are robocalls so this app can be very helpful to us. Working great so far, we shall see. Thank you Cox!
Never seems to work properly. Quite often people can't hear me when I'm speaking and the app opens very slowly other times. If I close every other app on my phone including Pandora and Alexa it seems to work a little better. it's and when they fix it has potential to be a great App
This app is joke. It shows missed calls on cox connect app but can't see them, because it opens this new app and it doesn't display any calls. Why change something that works with something that doesn't work??? Someone must be proud for creating an app like this.
This app is so fustrating!! It continues to say I have incoming calls when I do not. It will call numbers when I haven't even dialed. Its so wacked out and still hasn't been fixed not updated. Smh. Be aware if you pay your Cox bill the app will also say you can't make calls out nor accept due to account issues and if you contact cox they can't help 🤷🏻♀️
Works, then it doesn't. Works well from fresh install, but stops receiving calls after a day or two. Tech support just says uninstall and reinstall. Would be great if they would fix that issue.
Phantom calls.. Set to allow incoming calls but doesn't always ring. Then later, 5 minutes or so the mobile phone will ring. App isn't ready for prime time. Unfortunately, without it we no longer get emails notifying us of land-line messages. Frustrating.
9/5/2019 - update. Galaxy Note9. Continued unreliability. 11/20/18 - Does not work despite constantly trying different settings. Android v8.0, Galaxy S9+. The Cox connect app makes you use this voice everywhere app in order to see your caller ID or voicemail now. This isn't just annoying. Unacceptable.
Looked promising, but does not stay synced. Recent calls not logged. 3 calls came in today with multiple rings, none logged. We answered one of the 3. This app is unreliable. Voicemail works for those that leave one.
This app is very unreliable. Sometimes it says I'm unconnected, and other times it's okay. I've had to reinstall it 3 times. Voicemail messages are delayed 1-2 hours. Not ready for prime time.
App stops working, I have to uninstall and reinstall then it works for a few days, now it does not work at all! I have uninstalled it and reinstalled and nothing! COX please fix as it is a good tool when it works.
This app is worthless. It doesn't work...at all... It also constantly crashes in the background causing an error msg to pop up on your phone every few minutes.
I tried using this app several times. Is just simply not working properly. No call history, phone doesn't even ring, voicemails are out of sync with web application. Cox please fix it!!!
Why was voicemail removed from your old app? It worked, it was ergonomic, I liked it. This app is cumbersome and wants all kinds of access to data I would rather not share with could from my cell phone. Why? Scrap this and restore the old app please. Give whoever did this a cigarette and a blindfold and lead them to a wall.
COMPLICATED & CONVOLUTED! I also had problems with the installation (I am former I/T Dept Mgr). It never gave me a good feeling that it was installed right or meshed with nomorobo. Both land and cell phone did ring at the same time, and I verified it was "on", but the app DID NOT decrease robo calls. My cell has VPN, which seems to cut out all robo calls,. Lastly, I now have a $5 charge on my card for the privilage of using this 3rd party garbage. Hi-Tech? Maybe. Useful? NOPE!
Calling it junk would be to overrate it. It is useless, after installing it, it goes to settings on first use and I can't get past that screen. I've never had that happen for an app.
Great app, basically turns my land-line phone into a cell phone. So I have two cell phones in one! Lol. The only issue I have is that you can't disable call waiting yet, but I know it's coming soon
Fix the app, stopped working after the last update have removed/uninstalled this app 3 time due to same issue. Get better support to fix this app. This app is a GREAT idea, an IDEA that breaks all the time. I have seen more than myself post about the app "STOPS WORKING AFTER UPDATE."
Too many bad updates. I called Cox and they said they would fix it. Once in a while it works. This has been going on for a couple of months. Most of the time it either says unknown error or it says the login is wrong or has connection problems. Do not depend on this App. If Cox fixed it and then left it alone, I would give it 4 to 5 stars. There was a good, working version in January and February. Still not working. I will miss it more when I am not staying home.
