Ugh! I've used this app for years and loved it up until a few months ago when it suddenly stopped sending me reminders. The whole purpose of this, for me, was to remind myself of birthdays, events, etc. Once I became aware of not receiving reminders, I began to set "test" events. I'd set a reminder, then check it, and it would be gone. I'd set it again and get the same result. Very frustrating! Time for a new app... :(
It's good for what it is. I use the free version. The ads are not to annoying or intrusive. I like the lists, the calendar and used to use it more when I had a bigger family and it had Flylady on it. That disappeared sadly. The hard part was no one else in my family wanted to use this app so I couldn't sync up. I still use this frequently and keep my schedule on it.
I want to love this app because it has many things I've been looking for, but there are so many things bug me. The big ones for me are that I can't edit the meals (changes aren't saved) so I end up having to delete the meal and re-create it. I've tried re-installing the app. There's also no ability to copy a meal over to a different date which is really nice if you eat a lot of the same meals multiple times a week.
I love and hate this app. It's great that I can link up with my family with schedules to- do lists and grocery lists, but it never notified of anything as it comes up on the calender. I even set it me 3 notifications for my appointments, and I didn't get so much as an email... not that an email is what I would want... but it said it would at list do that much, and it doesn't. I almost regret paying for the full version. I need push notifications please. Then you'll get your 5 stars.
Edited review. I've had some frustrations with the Cozi app for both android (mine) and iPhone (wife). I like the webpage, and I think that I will continue to used the webpage for grocery lists and calendar usage. I think my prior review might have been unnecessarily harsh as it was right after multiple issues with the app. I would use Cozi more frequently if there was a better mobile website, sized properly and with the features of the desktop website. I really don't understand why so often there are frustrating app versions of perfectly good websites.
It's ok up to a point. We use it mostly so we all know what is on the shopping list so we can get stuff when we are in a shop rather than making a special trip. The app doesn't update across our devices very reliably. Often an old and deleted list is still current and even refreshing doesn't sort the problem.
Way too many ads that are in your face. Also no option to see a month view unless you get the paid version. And $30 a year for ad-free is too much when this is exactly like Google Calendar. The only thing it has over Google Calendar is it does have a grocery list option. But not worth combating the ads everywhere for that feature.
Recent Issues. The app won't sync in real time. It takes a lot of refreshing and hours for it to work. This has been the routine recently. Super disappointing. Also wish it had a notification setting for adding more things to a list!
What did you do to the web app?!? We've used Cozi for MANY years. I use the monthly view at least 2x per month to pay bills, logged in today, and it is unrecognizable, ugly, and has added multiple mouse clicks - to change whose calendar I want to see, to change the month, to update a scheduled event. This is really awful.
My fiancée and I enjoy the app. We are able to see when we both are working or when we have events. We even got to when we are having lunches or dinners together! Sometimes it lags or the adds get in the way or are annoying. Other than that, it's a good app
You would think that a simple click (touch) of the event would allow you to view or edit that event. Why must it be so challenging to get into the schedule? If you insist on placing the appointments at the top of the day window and the date at the bottom, the lines for the boxes must be far more pronounced to separate the appointments from the previous week's date that sits right above the appointment. Better yet - move the date to the top of the day!
Wish I could view my calendar in a different format without having to pay. Sticking with the standard free layout. Otherwise very easy to use and very helpful. Love being able to share a calendar with my family so we all know when each other is available even though we don't live together. Making appointments and planning things as a group are much easier now
Been using Cozi for a few years now and it's most definitely my favourite family organiser by far. But I wondering if there was any chance of a PC version being released in the near future. I know it's very simple app to use on a phone or tablet but I was hoping for a PC version. I've been recently using my PC more than usual and find myself going back to my phone to add events, dinners, personal reminders etc.... Would this be possible or something already available that intergrates with Cozi?
Generally a decent app. As a family we use this app daily and pay for the yearly membership. I work shifts so feel as though you should be able to add a rota so that you don't have to add all individual shifts to each individual day. I currently switch between a proper shift calendar (Supershift) and Cozi. I'd like to be able to relay on Cozi without having to cross reference against another calendar. I've never used the meal planner option since having the app and doubt I ever will.
UPDATE: Have been using this app for years. My suggestion, don't upgrade to the paid version. Most features (e.g., the journal you could share with family) that made the paid version worthwhile have been removed. Requests: 1) set an appt for one, reminders to all; 2) user-only appointments/entries (e.g., picking up a surprise gift); and 3) bring back "by " list feature which added item as a to-do to calendar.
Just OK. I want/need a monthly calender similar to Google and can't have it here unless I pay monthly. Generally OK and only use this because my wife does and I check what she has planned. I will not pay monthly for a service that repeats free programs from Google and only offer a different graphical interface (with monthly subscription).
Free app is does the job. Premium missed the mark. I only use the shopping list now. With great excitement, I tried all the features. They all lack in something including the shopping list: 1) Reorganizing lists are challenging. 2) There is no collaboration between features like why can you select recipes and have it build a shopping list? I would pay for that. 3) in shopping mode it doesn't show only the items needed.
Website is great. App doesn't always load on our Android phones. We've had to reinstall several times and still have periodic issues. However, this is a great way to organize family activities.
I like many of the features, however, my biggest issue is the calendar does not store any events put in unless they are Annual events that happen each (like birthdays, anniversaries). Often times I have a need to see when I may have had an appointment with a doctor or anything. This is disappointing.
I set everything up but I can only create calendar items for 'All' rather than individual family members which I thought was the whole point of the app. The Help option just takes me to FAQs which are unhelpful and no way to contact for support. Waste of the time.
Amazing app with great features! Just wish it was easier to sync with my Google calendar so I didn't need to enter into both. Please make it possible to do on mobile without PC!
Garbage app, way too complicated for simple calendar sharing. When signing in, if you click reset password, the app takes you to a browser window to sign in again, with no option to reset. Absolute trash. Just use a generic Gmail account and use that calendar. This isn't worth the effort of downloading.
Recent updates have made the app much less user friendly. Used to be very easy to use on both browser and phones. Now you cannot access day 24 onwards in month view of calendar on laptops (safari and chrome) and the style of layout has changed making it harder to read and you cannot scroll down the calendar on non mobile devices
So far, so good. Updates and reminders is great. The only tweet I would add is to identify who adds items to the grocery list. For example, if someone adds shampoo, I need to know who that is to get the right shampoo. Otherwise, great app.
Combines various lists and shared calendars in an easy to use platform. My wife and I really enjoy using it, with one huge caveat: once a grocery list is created, there is no option to alphabetize everything in the list or to move all checked items to the bottom. You can drag things, sure, but people have been asking for these features for NINE YEARS (Google "cozi sort", first result). I have nearly 10 minutes of JS experience under my belt and even I know how to sort lists. It's trivial.
