CPR•Choking

The CPR/Choking app offers instant videos on how to perform CPR and aid a choking victim. Developed by leading educators and doctors at the University of Washington, it is compatible with the latest recommendations from national organizations. More info at learncpr.org
The CPR videos that incorporate the latest guidelines issued by the American Heart Association (Oct 2010). The most prominent change is from A-B-C (airway, breathing, chest compressions) to C-A-B (chest compressions first, then airway and breathing).

From the AHA Executive Summary (http://circ.ahajournals.org/cgi/content/full/122/18_suppl_3/S640): "The newest development in the 2010 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC is a change in the basic life support (BLS) sequence of steps from "A-B-C" (Airway, Breathing, Chest compressions) to "C-A-B" (Chest compressions, Airway, Breathing) for adults and pediatric patients (children and infants, excluding newly borns). Although the experts agreed that it is important to reduce time to first chest compressions, they were aware that a change in something as established as the A-B-C sequence would require re-education of everyone who has ever learned CPR."

Be sure to maintain proper training as there are other important changes to the guidelines in addition to C-A-B.

This is a great app, especially for those of us who do not know every little correct detail as those of you in the medical profession would know but hey at least its something and that's always better than just doing nothing. I for one install this app everytime I upgrade so thank you to the people who provided this for the non medical professionals.

Very easy to use and informative. Haven't had to use it yet and hope I don't have to, but it's definitely a good app to use in an emergency.

This is an excellent app but know that it must stay updated. With that said, remember to stand there and do nothing is the WRONG way.

Incorrect procedures..you need to check for pulse and breathing not just jump right into compressions..would not recommend this app
