Crafty Remote Control

New update brought some nasty changes. Namely, the automatic shut off timer value display has changed from seconds to minutes. I used to set my auto shut off to something between 60 and 70 seconds and if I wanted to set it to 66 seconds, it was precise. Now it is impossible to see the exact value. Please make it as it used to be to display seconds, not minutes. In fact, previous app version did not need updating - perfectly working, no flaws, why did you need to "improve" the app to make it worse? Another annoying issue that the new version won't automatically connect to my Crafty even though the "Auto connect" slider is on. Why is that?

It breaks quite often, for no apparent reason. The letters don't match the boxes when you're typing a serial number. And when it works, the app only has the bare minimum: no timed sessions, no temperature curves, no clear error messages to report (what the hell does it mean if my serial number flashes red, just tell us instead). This feels like the weekend project of a bored programmer.

I didn't have any issues with the app until the most recent update. Now it is barely functional. It doesn't connect automatically to my crafty. The automatic shut off timer doesn't show on the display. The battery life meter is always partly empty, even after a full charge. The interface is too large to fit on the screen now, so you have to scroll down to use the booster settings.

Love it but it has it has room for improvement. The Great The workflows are amazing and are kind of game chaning. They let you fine tune your perfect bags. Also great for setting a bag to fill automatically. The app is also great for fine tuning other settings and configurations. The Bad The app sometimes causes the volcano to freeze and requires a reset. Also the auto connect doesn't seem to work. Every time I open the app I need to select Volcano. Please add a number entry for temperature.

The app is okay and if you're like me and like to tailor a vaping session dependant on the type of herb in there - it's great. I'd like to see a bit more functionality; having a time until completely charged function would be good as would being able set up temps based on time so you don't have to press that button. It never seems to connect automatically to my crafty either so that's another minor gripe...

The crafty wouldn't connect after a few months of having it, so I reset my phone/wifi/bluetooth with no luck. Then i deleted the device off the app and now i can't re enter it and proceed. It stays red as if it is incorrect. Without the app working it makes the crafty useless due to the fact it has no digital screen or manual buttons to increase and decrease the temperature. Extremely frustrating.

App no longer works. I used to be able to get it to connect to my Crafty+ by reinstalling the app. I tried that several times yesterday, along with rebooting my phone, turning Bluetooth on/off, GPS on/off...anything I could think off. I sent an email detailing my issues with the app...clearly stating in the email that I was using an Android device. Their response: "We would like to let you know that Apple deleted the STORZ & BICKEL App on their own decision, without our knowledge." What????????

The app is very buggy and asks for a serial number ever frikin time. Why is there even an "auto connect" option if it does that? The manual is very glitchy and can't be read sometimes (black blocks cover half of it), it does not support landscape mode, it does not tell you things like what the green light means. The app itself is glitchy and will show manual options on the background while you are in the temperature tab... I can't believe I paid 300€ for this. On the verge of a refund.

85-90% of the time it works perfectly, but at the beginning the workflows would always stop halfway through with an error message. However since I made them simpler (less steps) it's fixed this... mostly. Bit.disappointed that it doesn't work flawlessly given the price of the Volcano hybrid, but surely still a work in progress. And it's better than no app.

Not sure how effective the app is as I can't actually get it to connect with my partner's Crafty +. I don't even know what the problem is as the error message disappears before I can read it fully. Also, considering the high price of the vape, wouldn't it be simpler to have a temperature control button built into it rather than have to faff around with an app? Or is that not hipster enough?

It flat out doesn't connect. Through some magical incantation I managed to get the Volcano and app to talk to each other. Then it claimed the SN was invalid(I think, all it did was flash red) so I reinstalled and never got it to reconnect ever again. What an infuriating way to introduce someone to an expensive vaporizer, give them an app that's infuriating to troubleshoot(all the options on the S&B site say to ship it in for RMA, ridiculous when iOS users don't have this issue). Fix your app!

Nothing wrong with the vapourizer itself as of now. But the app is poor, the bluetooth disconnects after 5 minutes of inactivity and this problem is across multiple samsung devices, whenever I try to change the workflows it continuously crashes the app which immediately shuts down and lastly the tempreature on the app does not always display the same as the vapourizer. Storz & bickel need to do a lot more work, especially as they charge so much money for their products which are normally amazing.

After the last major update my accumulated "hours of operation" no longer exists. They were at approximately 100hrs. Changing the Auto shut-off has never worked. "N/A" is shown in the app option for auto shut-off and hours of operation. Now after checking the app I discovered that I don't even have the option to change the Auto shut-off. 🤔

Managed to get this up and running and connected to the app after a few failed attempts it isn't so self-explanatory if you are struggling a quick Google search will find you the help your looking for..Now that everything is up and running I am not one bit disappointed Through the app with the press of a button I can switch the crafty on from another room so it is allways ready..and many other features. I almost gave up after reading other reviews I thought my fate was seal worth preserving with

This app does not allow you to enter the serial number to start running the app if you have set your phone font to larger than the tiny default font. It has clearly been coded poorly. That is not surprising considering the attitude of this company who makes it impossible to return a defective product. This app is broken and the company told me that they don't care about fixing it. And they won't put the workaround I discovered on their FAQ since that would indicate that it is a known bug.

Note 9. Really wanted to believe that the reviews were wrong. Or at least that it would work for me. Wouldn't even connect to my new Crafty that I was sooo excited to try out. Thank goodness for the other app which connected quickly. UPDATE 12/15/19 - read the troubleshooting tips in the manual. Works well now. I may have been inputting a zero when I should have been inputting an 'O'. Simple mistake. It works "for now". Will update review if begins to fail.

Terrible app when used with the bag! Connected fine and did a 29 file, 20 minutes firmware update. The first run had a 10 second delay on the air setting and ended up blowing up/popping my bag because it wouldnt turn off in the app so i unplugged it in a panoc. Uninstalled imediately. Suppose it would be good for the straw version only

8 months ago I encountered numerous connection issues with every version of the app on both phone & tablet. NOW: the app works as intended & reliably connects to hardware both as a new connection & as a saved device via auto-connect. 3☆ now since basic functionality is reliable. If a Dark Mode option was added to change the white background to black or grey: this review would instantly become 5☆.....pleaseeeee devs!

Lots of little stuff could and should be improved on this app. Glaring errors like the instructions for use link opening a PDF in German even though the app is in English and I am in the USA. The autoconnect feature doesnt work at all. More customization abilities for workflows in terms of increasing the heat while also turning the air on, instead of only one action at a time being allowed, would be super nice. This is a top shelf product and it would be nice if the app felt top shelf as well.

Crafty device: Not a good experience overall. If it's stable it could be quite useful. The app easily lose connection to the device and won't reconnect until you restart your phone. Fix it?

Just a horrid app for a $1000 device. This app does not connect on my Samsung s9 to the volcano hybrid and I've been trying for weeks. Now i tried it on my note 4 with android 5 and it works perfectly. Its unbelievable they charge so much money for a device and they can't get their app right and updated to work with newer android devices.
