Great games but... The sound effect are barely audible or completely absent during and after gameplay. The iconic voice doesn't even say your licence class at the end. Too bad because this is a pretty solid port. SEGA even paid the rights for two out of four (if I'm not mistaken) of the original Offsprings songs which they didn't in the HD 2010 port. This is Crazy Taxi 1 on the go, in nearly all its glory!

Pretty great arcade game, pretty great Dreamcast game, pretty great mobile game. That's how I feel. It's one of Sega's best arcade games. But, the controls could be better. The steering feels tight and responsive, but the original steering is slippery, but not broken. One review said it was "abrupt", and I couldn't agree more. Otherwise, it was fun replaying this classic.

I super loveeeee this game! Reminds me of the good old times playing it on the ps2. However, I wish the "turn left" button could be improve because sometimes it does not detect my finger print and it's frustrating :( Maybe because the position of it is too near to the side of my phone? Or maybe you could position the left and right button like the drive and reverse button? No matter what, the nostalgic feeling while playing it is just 😍

The game used to work fine and there's nothing wrong with the port, but recently they must have changed something about the ads. Now it's no longer possible to close them (the (x) button is not accessible in the frame, I guess the ads were meant to be displayed vertically) and you can't start the game mode you chose.

Love this game BUT there are 3 flaws with it. 1: The taxi's shadow is weird and not how it should be. 2: The background music plays fine but that's all the sound there is! There's no sound FX from the taxi drivers or the customers even though it's set to the max (2). 3: This is the biggest flaw. The countdown timer is completely wrong. I've tested numerous times against the PS2 version and the Android version and the Android version is counting down the seconds much, much faster than the PS2 version. After 1 minute of gameplay (timed on the PS2 version), just driving around, the Android version is 1 minute and 10 seconds into the game already! This sped-up countdown makes it incredibly difficult to complete the last level of Crazy Box (where you speed through the city in what should be 4 minutes but what is actually closer to 3 minutes). PLEASE FIX THIS.

It's nice that Crazy Taxi is available portably and all, but this Android port has a number of bugs that need to be worked out. The biggest ones are audio bugs; the music has a tendency to stop playing after each game (this can be temporarily fixed by turning BGM off and back on) and the sound effects and voices in general don't really work at all.

Basically a perfect version of the Dreamcast classic. The only issues I have are that: 1. You cannot remap controls when using a controller. Also the controls feel like they're digital instead of analog. Turning feels abrupt rather than smooth and slight. 2. There's no option for 60 fps. I get that phones need to conserve battery but for more powerful devices I'd REALLY like a 60 frames per second option for this game. Otherwise this game is spectacular. Unquestionably worth it.

the game runs perfectly and the controls are about as perfect as you might hope they'd be. ads are annoying, but that can be said for about any game, it's just a bit frustrating here. would rate higher, but the game fails to start up after a while saying "age's changed, please restart app" and not booting back up. would really like to see that fixed, because the game hardly works anymore because of it

This is probably one of the best ways to play Crazy Taxi. The songs are actually the full versions, the controls are a lot more accessable, even with the more complex driving tech like boosting and drifting, and it runs pretty well, and it's not even totally necessary to pay for no ads, since ads play pretty sparingly, mostly before and after gameplay. Compared to other ways of playing this classic, like the Steam version and just emulating it, this is definitely the best way to go!

FIRST: Although other reviewers have complained about not being able to play offline after removing ads, I was able to play in airplane mode, so I'm disinclined to believe them. This is one of my favorite games ever and I was ECSTATIC to find it available for android, completely faithful to the original. I wouldn't change a thing. The ads are annoying if you don't pay to remove them, but why wouldn't you pay a lousy $2 for that? If it was like $10 or more I'd be upset, but $2 is VERY worth it.

I remember playing Crazy Taxi on my Dreamcast back in the day, and this is pretty much a perfect replica of that experience. Speed is king, and if I can take a shortcut by flying through the air, then I will. The cast of drivers is diverse and the game usually runs without lag, providing not too many apps are consuming resources in the background. This used to be a full priced game in the 90s, and I'm grateful I get to relive it for free.

The game is so fun and addictive! I'm so glad it's true to the original and not the Dreamcast or GameCube ports which allowed customizable vehicles and custom time ranges. I didn't like the cheats from the ports and this game plays just like the "Sega Arcade" version. I couldn't get the pause button the work on the top left corner of my screen however.

It is a good game if you have the right phone. I did have a few issues. When you are driving to a destination and the arrow tells you which way to go, I will go the way it tells me to and it will come up on screen saying that im going the wrong way. Also it kinda freezes up and glitches sometimes on my phone. But that could be just a phone issue not so much a game issue. overall its a great game but just cant play it on my phone.

I have three fairly big problems with this game. Firstly, all of a sudden, the game has started saying "Age's changed, please restart the app." after the Sega splash text. It always appears, blocking me from playing the game. Second, the whole "paying for no ads" thing is a lie. It'll always show at least one ad upon startup. And finally, even though my phone is fairly powerful, the game slows down dramatically whenever bumping into any objects or walls or anything. I don't recommend this port.

As nostalgic as it is playing crazy taxi, there are options and things that were removed from the original game, such as setting the starting time higher, the drop offs easier, and changing traffic, with time on easy I can easily play over 2 hours on a system it was ported for aside from mobile, and that setting is where all of the competitive crazy taxi runs are, so as such I am extremely dissapointed to see those options go. However Im always a fan of crazy taxi even without those options.

It's a good game it reminds me of the times back when I used to play it on the PS2 lol but there seem to be a problem though some times when I start a game and get into a car, the car doesn't move at all and the gear seem to be stuck on drive ( D ) but again the car won't move forwards or backwards and I keep having to close the app down and start over. I shouldn't have to keep doing that 😕

Fix the turn left button. It lakes an average of a full secound to respond when pressed properly (it does have a weird hitbox too) This takes the game from a 2 to a 5 immideatly. It's garbage as of right now. Or add customisable controls. I have no problem with with car being slippery or wacky that's the point. But when I turn left I expect the car to react right there and then

Truly amazing port. This is very playable, and even has the original soundtrack. And yes, you can perform the Limit Cut move, by repeatedly pressing the Drive button at high speed (doesn't tell you this in the instructions though). Only thing missing is the difficulty options from the original game.

Dan. W. Mar 19, 2020

brilliant take off from the original crazy taxi which basically involves driving around picking people up and dropping them off across a town. really could do with using a joystick of sorts but as a phone game goes it was perfectly fine and as smooth running as the original (also the original is years old so don't judge by today's standards so to speak!)

And. L. Jul 3, 2019

Game is festooned with ads. 3-5 still ads while selecting game settings, plus an additional SIXTY SECOND unskippable ad before starting a level. You have to sit through 60+ seconds of ads every time you want to play a 3 minute run. Unplayable. If you're like me and looking for the arcade/Dreamcast classic, this ain't it. Find yourself a decent Dreamcast emulator - this game will run on pretty much any netbook. Don't waste your time here.

It was an amazing port for the NVidia shield tablet, especially with a controller using the OTG cable. However with a newer samsung Tab A, i get really degraded performance. There is a horizontal bar at the top, which cuts off the view of the game. Secondly, there is a loud BEEP between song changes. Additionally, why cant i remove the on screen buttons when using a controller? It muddles my already limited view.

Finally a port to Android that SEGA didn't screw up (unlike many others mostly due to bad controls)! It plays and feels great, just like the original! I totally recommend it!!! Edit: on my new phone, the buttons are too far on the outside. Please let us customize the button emplacement..

There's a bug that makes the game unplayable. For some reason, after a few seconds of driving, the drive button stays highlighted, even though I'm not pressing it, and any input doesn't register, except for the pause button. Can't drive the taxi and need to restart the game to be able to drive for a few more seconds, until it bugs out again.

sn0. Nov 15, 2019

Game is exactly what I expected it to be, controls are fine and it's fun to play. But after a few hours everytime I try to start the App it says "Age's changed, please restart the App". But after a restart it appears again and doesn't let me play. Even a new installation didn't change that.

Lea. M. Dec 17, 2021

The same ol' Crazy Taxi from way back when. I'd argue that it's better than the psp version since it has its original soundtrack! There's still a knack to the driving, boosting and drifting but that's really the same for all versions. It's a fun arcade classic from Sega's golden days which never gets old.

Eva. C. Oct 21, 2019

The latest update makes the game run at full speed! Crazy Taxi itself is a fantastic game, you drive passengers while trying to make the most money as possible. There is a challenge mode called Crazy Box that helps you hone your driving skills. Now all we need is the options that exist in the console versions of the game: Editing the amount of traffic and amount of starting time in arcade mode. Adding the ability to change music volume would help audio mixing (sfx is too quiet, music too loud)

Pra. P. Jul 15, 2020

An almost perfect port of a beloved arcade classic, let down only by the somewhat muted sound and voice work (the original's voices were loud enough to be heard over everything, so fares could be spotted earlier). The controls have travelled superbly to touchscreens - about as well as most other flagship racers up here - and the gameplay remains perfect for series fans who log long sessions and newcomers who play short stretches, in a way that preserves its timelessness and appeal to everyone.
