Cribbage Classic

Cribbage Classic has a number of settings that can help you to learn the best move for your situation and offer assistance if it notices that you are making a sub-optimal play. Or just play in fast mode where all counting is done for you and you get to simply focus on discarding and pegging. By tweaking the settings you can take this app anywhere from a lazy-thoughtless-time-waster game to a skill-sharpening-master-tutorial helping you to crush your next opponent. Statistics are also kept so you can see your average pegging score, your average hand score, and your average crib score! Also shows you a summary of all of the sub-optimal plays you made at the end of the game and tracks your error rate over time so you can see yourself improving.
Cribbage Classic also has a "Discard Analyzer" bonus feature that can help you decide on the optimal discard to play given a particular cribbage hand. Analyzer shows you the minimum, maximum, and average score for each permutation along with an in-depth statistical analysis of all possible flip card results.

I just learned to play crib last month, I played three hands with family members. Since then I've downloaded various crib apps and found this one to the best. Best graphics, best play options, ads are discreet and not always in your face. I have the game on two Android phones, Samsung A71 and an S9. I recently downloaded it to my Samsung Tab S7, where the app doesn't work. It starts at opening sequence but then continuously rotates between portrait and landscape mode and is unplayable...

This is a great way to refresh my cribbage skills and teach my grandsons this age old game of skill, math and logic. I only wish it allowed for two players. I always enjoy seeing if my discard choices math the apps "hints", and then analyzing my choices versus the apps choices The board is also very relaxing and takes helps me start the day stress free... even if I loose a match. The post-game analysis is great. I like that it won't let you end your turn untill you figure out all your points.

It's good in lot's of ways. Especially, no annoying pop-ups. I don't like having to go to the menu at the end of every game though. And, beware, the turn-up will help the pro 99 time's out of 100. This is obviously loaded to help the pro. Do NOT try to gloss over it PLEASE, I'm an expert and this doesn't happen constantly, like in this game, in ANY match/competition I've EVER played in!

I really enjoy this app and the way it plays. The only issue I have it it keeps resizing back and forth from one time I use it to the next. It gets to the point that I can't see some card as they dissappear to the right. I've gone through all the settings on my phone, Galaxy s22 ultra, and can't figure it out. I don't want to replace it with another game as I really like this one but it is getting annoying.

The"pro" level of this game does nothing to help improve skill with challenging hands. Instead, it loads the computer up with double runs or other statistically impossible in a real game to pile on the points, while the player is dealt hands scoring in the low single digits. It's very frustrating to see hand after hand of runs, double runs, 3 and 4 of a kind, etc., dealt to the "pro", while I struggle to play hands that, at best, are 4-6 points. There's no way that happens EVERY HAND!

I like this game better than the others , it helps teach as well as fun. I dont like that you cant save it for a few minutes, when i pick up and try to play, i get a reset everytime. I also think there might be something wrong counting those runs at the end of 31. Best so far, of the free offline games.

I think this is very well done. The ads aren't intrusive, and the game play is good. I'm not sure how random the card shuffling is though. It seems as though the program has a tendency to favor certain hands. After playing some 1600 pro-level hands though, I had a 54% win percentage, so even if the shuffling is not truly random, it seems to be equally bad for both players.

Excellent way to learn the game! Don't play if you don't like losing. Apparently, the harder the setting, the better the hand given to the computer. Played expert and made 1 sub optimal play (according to the computer) and lost by over 60 points. LOL

This is without a doubt the best cribbage game that I have found. It has a setting to let you count, without any animated theatrics. I have become a much stronger player by using the Discard Analysis. I’ve been playing cribbage since I was a teenager and play on the Pro level. Sometimes I win, sometimes the computer wins, and I never feel that the algorithm is responsible for that. Very challenging and real! I would give it 5+ stars if I could play in landscape mode.

I agree with reviews saying the computer has some kind of advantage. The AI hits big point hands when behind, so often that it cannot be coincidence. Very evident on pro mode. Pase of play is far too slow, I shouldn't have to click a button every time it's a go or last card. I like the features explaining the optimal and suboptimal discards though, helps understand where I may have made mistakes. But this also shows I rarely make discard mistakes, further showing the AI cheats.

Very nice interface, very easy to use. I've both skunked the Pro level and lost big to the standard level so I feel better about the distribution of hands than I did previously. Post game analysis is interesting if sometimes confusing (Break up a pair and put one in my opponent's crib? I must be missing something). Overall I'm very pleased and recommend this app

Definitely better on iOS where you can actually highlight two more cards at a time. Feels extremely primitive when you have to play such a aimple game even slower than normal. The statistics on your history is cool, would be nice to see more detail but helpful none the less. Discard Analyzer probably the best feature out the whole app and very helpful for honing one's skills.

Love playing cribbage. HOWEVER this game cheats like crazy!!! The "computer " always gets the best cards ever and always scores at least 10 points and higher. Not only that, the opponent always "flips the lower card hence gets the first kitty, always gets runs and pairs like crazy, when the deck is cut it ALWAYS benefits the opponent, the hint on what throw out always benefits the opponent. Other than that, it's just a game that needs to be more "RANDOM" LOL.

I loved this game since I have had it. Recently upgraded to S21 ultra, and about half the time, it will not allow me to count my points. I have to restart the game. It might do that 3 or 4 times and then get back to normal. I tried to update, but it looks like the last update was 2020. Also, in the 2000 plus games I have played, there has never been a redraw to see who goes first. Not a truly random pick.

A nice enough attempt but the difficulty feels all over the board. If you play on easy it holds your hand too much and it's really easy to skunk the computer. Not fun. If you go up to standard then the computer gets runs for days, always has the right card to make a 15 or pair up with your play and you're lucky to get 6 points in a round. No fun. Also, can't play with others. This app was a great refresher course for the game but other than that it sorely disappoints.

Minimal add and lots of options. This is a great app to learn and play Cribbage. Manual Points counting is nice. The Muggin option (where if you forget to count all your points the app scores it for itself) helps reinforce seeing missed points. Overall great options and great solo play. Look elsewhere if you want to play other people.

Loaded this app on recommendations from friends who play it, but it would not work on my Samsung tablet. The opening screen comes up, but begins to flip between portrait and landscape orientation, and locks out all manual inputs. I had to take the tablet to my local AT&T store to get it reset. Not recommended

Love cribbage in general, and this app version gives me plenty of practice! I especially appreciate the optimal move analysis at the end of the game, which helps me understand which moves to make the next time I come across the diverse hands possible in the game! And it doesn't even cost anything! Awesome, and I'm super grateful that I chose this one out of the bunch!

I'm really enjoying this app! Great gameplay and no annoying ads! Even better, as a new cribbage player, the hints and analysis are super helpful. The only ask would be a more detailed explanation of why certain moves (such as discards) are strategically better beyond the currently offered average points per hand. Thanks to the developer(s) for this fun game and learning tool!

I love this game and this app. Hadn't played cribbage in many years and had almost forgotten how to play. This app helped me get back to it. Easy to use and I like how you can manually score the game if you feel like it, but don't have to. You can change deck color and table color, always nice in card game apps. Only thing I would change is the sound. There is none. Some card noises would be cool, with the option of having no sound, of course. Otherwise, I love it! :)

The game is fine, very easy to get in to. However, the AI is extremely stacked against you. The computer has double runs almost every hand and when cutting to see who deals, the computer wins 9 times out of 10. Uninstalled because I can't have any fun. This is playing against standard as well.

I wish it didn't make you click "go" even when you have no cards left; it's annoying. Another improvement: Give the option to automatically give the losing side the crib to start the next game. Sometimes you have to restart the game MANY times to get the first crib of the new game to the losing player from the last game. It's nice that it automatically orders your cards from low to high; it's surprising how helpful this is in making your decisions.

This app meets the basic needs. It's free throughout, no ads other than a small banner at the bottom, and it is easy to use. I like that if you are a beginner it can help you a lot, or you can play with little to no direction. I also enjoy the game analysis so that I can improve my play. I do wish the deals were more realistic. I am finding that more often than not I am playing against a hand that is constantly 10 points and up when my hands can barely make 2, even playing on Easy mode.

Cla. Jan 11, 2021

I installed to learn how to play. Started on Easy mode for about 10 games, then started playing Standard mode. After 75 games I've won 74% of games played. It doesn't demoralise me. The more I played the less I relied on the hints. I like it. The interface is good. No sounds, small unobtrusive ads at bottom of screen. The discard advice is based on statistical averages, which I sometimes want to override, which is easy to do. I've found it helpful to read a few articles with strategy suggestions
