Cribbage With Grandpas

Honestly, very frustrating. I accidentally hit the Back arrow during the grandpa creation process and it axed everything instead of auto-saving (or at LEAST keeping the app in the background). Then it dealt me multiple ridiculous hands that I could not form more than 0-2 points with, despite setting the difficulty to the second-easiest level. Lastly, upon rage-quitting after that loss, the game's music continued to play at the home screen. Why'd it continue *there* but not when I first hit Back?

Most of this game is great; quick gameplay, good AI, fun graphics. A few bugs that I've run across, but usually it just crashes and I can start it up where I left off. The big bug I'm running into, though, is with opening hands; every time I'm first dealer, I'm dealt the exact same opening hand (Q of spades, 5 of hearts, 6 of diamonds, 3 6 and K of spades) and the starter card is the 6 of hearts. It's not a deal breaker, but it's kind of annoying. Without that bug, it's a solid 4-4.5 stars.

The game is okay... when it does work. It crashes on a regular basis or doesn't start again after being minimized. Partially bad programming though: choosing a harder difficulty level just translates to "Grandpa's getting better cards." It does work offline though, which I think is very nice. Overall: If you don't mind the small crashing flaws, and if you like playing cribbage on a medium-just-for-fun-level - go get it.

This is app is a delight. It fits so much character into a simple interface. I've seen complaints that raising the difficulty level comprises merely of giving the grandpa better cards. I've played this dozens of times and have not found that to be the case. Luck of the draw, truly, favors or plagues either of you. [Update 2020/11/07] Game still works, except: occasional hand repeats, create grandpa randomizer makes the same second result everytime and won't work after that. Reinstall no help.

Utterly charming interface that makes learning and playing cribbage a really relaxing and fun experience. I had no idea how to play before this, despite being really into games and trying to learn in other ways. But now I'm even teaching my mum how to play! One or two bugs, with sound continuing outside app, but they do nothing to spoil this experience. Absolutely perfect example of how to make a digital card game engaging! Thanks grandpas

Every time I switch to a different app the game crashes and I can't continue where I left off. Example when I get a text and I check my text and go back to the game it force quits the app and all progress is lost wether its game progress or right at the beginning when making a grandpa. Please fix. Otherwise the game would be excellent.

Game is smooth and charming, but something is wrong with the randomness; multuple times I've gotten the exact same hand at the start of a game, which isn't very fun. Also, the game doesn't let you switch back to it after switching apps, anf has occasional crashes.

I highly recommend this game My papa recently passed, I played cribbage with him all the time as a kid. I've had this downloaded on my phone for almost a year and forgot it was there until tonight when I was looking through my apps. I opened it and started bawling as I had already designed the character to look like my papa. This is such an amazing app and very therapeutic in a way, it's very comforting. Thank you for such a beautiful app<3

Sweet, good-natured, casual cribbage game. The aesthetic is charming and the grandpas have real character. It lets me reminisce about playing games with my own, which is lovely because I didn't get enough time with him before he died. It's a little buggy, but I'm happy to overlook that. The game is more about the relaxing, meditative experience than intense cribbage play.

I started playing to help me learn how to play and it was pretty good with that, explaining points and Grandpa helping you with missed points. But after a while you notice the hands dealt are not random and the game is stacked against you which makes it boring in the long run. Great for learning to play but not so much if you already know how.

I get the same opening hand over and over... 3,5,6,6,Q,K and a 6 is flipped. I try exiting the game and clearing the cache, but it doesn't always help. This happens on both my Asus phone and Samsung tablet, each running a different version of Android. Oh well, at least it was free.

Most addictive game I've played for a long time. Be careful. 10/10. Multiplayer would be nice, and I've accidentally skipped a turn a few times, but overall a lovely game. Please give us deck cosmetics.

So fun and relaxing! I love a sweet, good-natured game and this one hits the spot. Nice clean graphics and the grandpa designer is really adorable! Plus, it's awesome to keep my cribbage skills limber in between real-life games. The app itself is a little buggy, but it's nothing unplayable, at least not for me.

I had this game before, and it seemed ok, but after three games on Android the computer keeps winning over and over. It doesn't seem possible to get the hands "Grandpa" is getting, I think he deals from the bottom of the deck. Wasted my money.

It's a garbage game. Their idea of "harder" means the computer gets better cards. Seriously. Doesn't matter the difficulty. Maxed out, AI gets bare minimum 12 pt hands. Every single time. There is no skill involved. This is prefabbed bullshlt. I'm a damn good cribbage player. No amount of "skill" can beat "predetermined cards". I absolutely do not recommend this game to anyone. There are other cribbage games out there. Fairer ones. Please, go play one of them.

Great interface. Could be improved with more dialogue, music great. Stats could be nice and an ability to review performance. But I think that may take away what is relaxing about the game. Like it alot.

Absolutely wonderful. Aside from being clean and functional with no hangs etc it's absolutely gorgeous visually. The art, writing and music comes together to form a comfortably nostalgic atmosphere. For the price of a biscuit with your coffee it's yours and will keep you entertained through many coffee breaks. One minor gripe, with muggings it seems the computer opponents never make a scoring mistake however it may just be unlikely enough that I haven't seen it.

Good idea, but difficulty level determines quality of cards dealt, not actual skill or ability of the grandpa. I lost 3 games in a row, almost being skunked each game, on average difficulty because grandpa would get dealt 10-14 point hands every round while I'd get 32 point hands and cribs.

Hey there should be some sort of cloud save for your grandpas. I customized two grandpas to look like my real life deceased grandpas and when I got a new device I lost them all over again. Serious bummer. I know it's a dumb thing to be sad about and after not playing for about a year I finally made two new grandpas but still. That was a bit rough. Just a suggestion.

Fun times! I have to set it up from scratch on my new phone, though. Wish there was a way to have the very same grandpas, since I made them look like mine. Very satisfied with game play. Please update it for newer Android version!

Dropped this down to one star. The cards are not randomly dealt, as is proved by getting the exact same run of opening cards several times. This leads to a somewhat boring start.

I really love this cribbage app. It's lots of fun to play the card game and it's fun designing the grandpas. I wish they pointed out that the board and scoring appeared as the frame of the app.

Cute interface and character options, but ruined by lack of randomized cards, same opening hand over and over. Fix the randomness and I'll increase the rating to 4-5 stars.

It is fillled with charm and style. Most Cribbage apps focus solely in the game itself but this app touches on what makes cribbage meaningful: playing with the same people for years on years. Cribbage is about the person sitting across from you. This is the only cribbage app that knows that.

In my experience, the AI is the best out of the 4-5 cribbage apps I've tried. Customizing GPas is just icing on the cake. My only quibble is the sad lack of GMas in the game, as it was my GMa Dorothy who taught me the ways of this game of ours when I was a child.

Really well done cribbage game except it gives you the same hands ever time you start. Dev needs to fix the randomization code because it's unplayable as is.

This is a great game but it won't give me the option to remove the snowman you play against. It overrides my grandpa with a snowman no matter what I do!!! INCREDIBLY ANNOYING

Absolutely Delightful for all non serious cribbage player. And probably serious ones as well. Love the chat from grandpa. And his scoring phrases. Reminds me me of my Dad and that makes me smile as i miss him. For that mr Developer 10 stars. IF YOU PLAY CRIBBAGE YOU WILL LOVE THIS. I did have another cribbage game but that is now deleted.
