Lots people are flaming this app because they don't seem to understand that it is a guide for forensic investigators who own and or use forensic light sources. It tells them which wavelength light to use and what colour filter to use to best search with. If you don't have a forensic light then don't download this app and expect it to be one.

Displays which wavelength of light (ALS) & goggles/filter you use to examine various substances on a crimescene. TV usually uses ultraviolet light or a bluelight with an orange filter. Now when you watch TV you can see if they are using the proper light/filter. Actually a professional needs a variable wavelength light that changes internally or has filters or a 'Blue' light. Ultraviolet is used on tv but can cook DNA. Note that you need special goggles/filter with these lights, as they can hurt your eyes.

I have a chart in the office for quickly finding the appropriate combination of wavelength and filters for any given evidence, but it's nice to have access to that information in the field as well. The only recommendation I have is that when you select a wavelength, the text in the pop-up window displaying the filter type is too small to read easily. Fix that and you've got a GREAT app.
