I've used a lot of dice rollers on Android. Most of them simulate the dice rolling in 3D on the screen, which can look cool, but for some stupid reason they won't calculate the results of the roll until the dice stop moving. This can be obnoxious when you roll a lot of dice at once. I've found CritDice calculates results instantaneously, which I'd much rather have than the novelty of some virtual dice. The layout is simple and clean, and organizing favorites is really easy and helpful. There are tons of advanced things you can add to your die rolls to ensure you get exactly the output you want. Just a really practical and functional dice roller. Love it.
Love it. It's fast and easy to make quick rolls weither large dice pools or single D20 rolls. Piles of dice taking up space on your table? With Critdice say goodbye to stray D4's! The adds are non intrusive for the free version. I would highly recommend buying the full version for the advanced die formula options and preset die feature. I do wish there was a way to import your own sounds for the audio features, but that's a non issue. This is hands down the most useful dice app I've ever seen thus far! You need this app if your side of the GM screen is mostly taken up by dice or a dedicated space to roll them.
Almost immediately purchased the app. This is fantastic. I love having the ability to save my common rolls. The advanced options are things I never thought I wanted but they are perfect. The only thing I would change (which is minimal) would be the abilty to modify the formula from a selected starting point vs from the end and erase from there.
Pro users, and love the apps foundation but definitely still missing some things before it's "complete" for instance the name of the app is CritDice yet there is no function to actually "crit" (change any results after a roll) rather ironic. Adding damage types to a single roll would be very helpful as well. looking forward to seeing where it can go with a few additional features though.
You can easily set up any sort of die-rolling method I can think of. For instance, the classic method for rolling a character stat in D&D is to roll four six-sided dice, and drop the lowest die. That's just a matter of entering "4d6x" in this app. EDIT: I'd come across some tables that called for a d30, and I was surprised to find the 'dN' feature only allows for N from 1 to 9, not any arbitrary number.
Extremely annoying that it requires an online licence check for the advanced roll EVERY SINGLE TIME you fire it up. This is just bad design and has led to a lot of frustration when I'm out of signal. Other than that, it's a great little app, but needs to allow adding more than one criteria or function to advanced rolls e.g. Roll 3D10 and add 3 to middle or roll 5d6, keep anything over 4 AND count 6 as double.
This is the best most extensive dice rolling app I've found. It's real nice being able to create whatever macros I want, and the color coding of the dice is nice, though it'd be nice to be able to choose the colors, instead of it depending on what die is rolled first. It's a very clean interface and really easy to get used to.
I like this app, it has a clean, straightforward interface. Does what you'd expect it to do. You can roll dice, and add modifiers. I particularly like the saved, preset rolls (dice +modifier in one tap). Advantage and disadvantage rolls require the pay version.
Works fine for most things but heavily believe premium version is a pay to win. Between the two phones being used the premium out rolls the freebie consistently. I've never seen the freebie roll close to perfect nearly as much as the paid. (Time tested over a 1 year period). I want tonlike this app but the difference in paid version is vast and blatantly noticeable.
You can subtract one die roll from another. Like d10-d6. Exactly what I was looking for, and a surprisingly rare feature. Also handles a wide variety of unusual dice rolls, including exploding and compounding, keeping or dropping certain results, and counting successes be setting a minimum value. Easily the best dice rolling app available.
Good dice roller with a very minimal view. If you lose internet access or use in airplane mode you lose access to your purchase. Needs to remember if I've purchased and not deprecate the app. Had some issues when i had no wifi and poor cell signal. Lost all access to favorites and advanced rolls. Fix this and it's ideal.
The best free dice rolling app. I have since went ahead and got the paid version because I really appreciate the good job the developers have done here. The UI is simple, clean, pretty, and useful in many ways. My players really enjoy the sound effects, but sometimes I mute the crit successes/failures for more important encounters :)
Hey, woah, this app is great. I love that you can reroll directly from the history. Everything is very clean and clear. There are a lot of advanced options in the full version - for example drop the lowest, and it is obvious how to set it up because of the tooltips. Very nice.
I've gone through several dice apps and found CritDice to be not only the most comprehensive dice apps, but also one of the most intuitive and smoothly operating. It's a powerful app for users looking to customize N-sided dice and will calculate useful formulas to common dice math problems. Really useful for tabletop games. My only critique so far after using the free version is that it really ought to have a multiplication and division feature. It otherwise is a fantastic product that costs nothing to take a look at and costs less than a set of dice to actually buy.
This is actually pretty good. I was originally skeptical because it says it has ads, but fortunately the ads are far from intrusive. I like the different pre-sets for rolling, so if you play different games you can easily switch it around. Very cool.
This app is pretty damn fantastic. Looks super clean, performs well, and I think it's dope that you can customise roll sounds freely. Sometimes, however, I need to double a roll output and as of right now there is no way to do that.
Great dice roller, lots of dice formula options available, and the ability to save (and label) favourites. The only thing I wish it had was the ability to roll advantage/disadvantage in the same roll, which I emailed the devs about. Otherwise a great purchase for those times that I forget my dice bag...
Love the feature where you can group up different types of rolls and modifiers under different categories. It saves me a lot of time as a DM when i have a big monster with various damage abilities or various enemies. Although you'll need to upgrade to the full version.
A good app, direct to the rolls with no frills. Several nice options for special rolls with the payed version. Would like to see a way to average rolls out over a set number of rolls. Lost a star because while in tablet mode you are only able to view in full screen, rather than in a smaller positionable window.
Does almost everything I want in a clean and simple interface. Punching in a formula is as quick as grabbing the correct physical dice. I only wish I could add multiple advanced modifiers. What if I want to reroll 1s once then drop the lowest die? (Halfling Lucky trait with advantage.)
(6mnths of use) I love this app, makes combat while GMing a breeze. My players would like an iOS version though, and if we could get an extra button that would be available when rolling damage to "crit" (double dice) that would make this perfect. it's still very easy to use and I highly recommend this app.
This app us convenient, well-made, and I don't even have the paid version. Handy to open up and combine dice rolls instantly when my turn comes around. Gonna make use of the Favorites setting when I level up my class, and name the dice combinations for the skills. Super easy.
Fantastic and versatile dice app! It allows you to set up advantage and disadvantage rolls for DnD, it allows dice to "explode" for other game systems, and it allows you to build presets and assign them to different folders (for use with different games/characters. Highly recommend!
It's a good dice app. Has some features that are handy. Should have more option to enter brackets or to other wise do a large number if roles but divide the results into different groups. Customer service email doesn't work.
Overall the app is extremely nice to use, when you have to roll large amounts of dice. Although when making large numbers of equations for differing amounts of hits it's very annoying to have to get rid and write a whole new one. Maybe allow a way to tap the screen and allow you to delete at the place tapped. If it weren't for that 5 stars, but without that feature 4 stars.
