Cross Wind Assistant

Cross Wind Component Assistant is designed as a training tool for Flight Instructors and Student Pilots or Private Pilots. The app has a database of over 21,900 airports and 26,600 runways worldwide. It integrates with over 4800 online METAR stations across the globe and provides cross wind component calculations for all runway directions automatically. The Cross Wind Component Assistant is easy to use and will help Pilots visualize wind conditions during the takeoff and landing phases of flight. If ever a picture was worth a thousand words, this is it. Flight Instructors and Flight Schools could use this aviation App to help students quickly understand the go/no-go decision on a windy day.
Features

Quickly determines the closest airport and preferred runway direction for landing utilizing GPS and Cellular Network position. Overlay a nearby METAR station onto an airport without local weather. Show or hide private airports by preference. Nearby METAR stations listing is updated when you change airport in view. Manually enter wind speed and direction for offline use. Updates METAR from Internet using WiFi or Cellular Networks on supported devices. Uses caching to reduce data usage and improve app performance.

Improvement suggestions are always welcome. This is an App by a Pilot, for Pilots. Your purchase supports a local General Aviation Community. If you have any problems please contact [email protected]

Works well and use it often

Why are the wind speeds on each runway so tiny???? It is impossible to even read them! This would be a five start awesome app if you could actually read the numbers!

very disappointed.

This is just the crosswind app I've been looking for. The others require the pilot to at least enter the runway number. This one displays the complete radial wind picture at a glance, with all runways already entered.along with crosswind components and suggested runways. What more could you ask for? Why isn't something like this built into EFBs?

I am very impressed by the Cross Wind Assistant app! It's super-simple to use and gives a graphic representation of the crosswind (which it pulls from the closest METAR reporting station), as well as the suggested runway given the conditions. I think this will be a very useful tool! Well done!

This app quicky helps a pilot to look at his departure and arrival airport to see what runway is mostly to be used according to the wind direction. Plus you can view weather along your journey.
