Crosswords With Friends

Used to be a great app, but each revision makes it worse. I play with a group, and I now seem to be the last one playing. Constantly bogs down, quits responding, and has top row of puzzle blocked with ads. Update 6 weeks later: Nothing has improved except the ad placement at the top of the screen. App is constantly causing tablet to stop responding.

Ever since the big overhaul of CW w/ Fs, p look play is not faster, it lags when entering letters. Slow when changing screen and half the time quitting. I have to restart several times just to play the daily puzzles and challenges. I am very close to Uninstalleing for good. I did Uninstaller and reload to see if it would be better, but nope.

I am in agreement with some of the recent reviews. I enjoyed the game and have been playing for years but recently the ad placement at the top of the puzzle makes it difficult to play as it almost completely blocks out the top row. Also, after initial game, board repeatedly freezes. I have sent 3 emails with no response. Im almost ready to remove the app.

Enjoy the game, have 2 complaints. 1. Like many others, it is crashing multiple times while trying to play. 2. Ad placement in the game, the ads cover the top row and makes it difficult to solve those clues. The ads either need to be removed from the puzzles or something needs resized so you can see the whole puzzle.

Since the last update, several times I've purchased puzzle packs and the game has frozen, then I reopen and all the coins are gone but the packs remain "unpurchased". Not cool. The game is also freezing and closing a lot, sometimes it means I don't get credit for completed games or packs and points aren't awarded for tournament play. New update only added problems

Constantly Crashing!!! I've been playing CWWF for quite awhile now but lately the game is constantly crashing! Every time I finish a game, click NEXT, an ad plays, I close it and the game quits! I've contacted the developer...told them the problem and that I'd uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared the cache, everything and their reply was to do everything I JUST SAID I'D DONE!! I just got a notification that I needed to update the game but it crashed again!!!

Here we go. 5G service, i'm in NOLA. I have force stopped and cleared cache several times, SEVERAL TIMES. Didn't work at all, AT ALL. So i uninstalled and reinstalled. Still doesn't work, DOESN'T WORK. The issue is the tournament page along with the profile page will not load at all, and the extra puzzle will not load up. NONE OF THOSE WORK AFTER UNINSTALL/REINSTALL AND CLEARING CACHE AND FORCE STOPPING. So after uninstalling i lost all kinds of days, coins, and packs. It's ridiculous.

Why do you call this Crosswords with Friends when it isn't possible to connect with my friends. Only a problem with this game. Very, very, disappointing. Game has never been right since the update. Shame on you. 🥴 (This rating should be zero stars.)

2nd update...3/9/22 I have no packs available to play. How can I get more? HELP! Update..Here we are a year later..Everytime I try to open the game , it starts loading, then shuts down. Very disappointed. Original review.l Love this game, but it keeps freezing up. Sometimes it will unfreeze, but most of the time it closes and starts over. Very frustrating!!

The game freezes my phone sometimes before a crossword is done. Rarely does the home page completely load. It usually takes 4 or 5 tries. It's not my phone, all the other games I play work perfectly. If you are not invested in this game I would advise not wasting your time with it.

This was one of my favorite games. Suddenly it takes forever to reload. It crashes and reboots when I try to enter a letter in the grid. Today, I wanted to buy a game pack. It took my coins, but it said download failed.

Laggy with too many ads! Leave it to Zynga to take a crossword puzzle app and ruin it! Ads cause lagging and I'm constantly getting thrown out when I finish a puzzle because the app is trying to load an ad. It's now slow to load (ads again) and my times are destroyed because of all the extra nonsense. I kept playing because I enjoy the crosswords and because I played long before Zynga ruined the app. Save yourself the headache and try a different app. Uninstalled after having for 5 yrs.

Awful. This used to be fun and enjoyable. It's now difficult to navigate and childish looking. Serious lag time as well. Now the ads cover the top line of the puzzle grid and you have to guess what the letters are

Game has become nearly non-functional. Banner ad now covers entire first row (instead of "just" half) and app crashes when playing (in addition to crashing when you tap the question mark in Settings).

I have really enjoyed this crossword puzzle. I play almost daily. I don't particularly like a the "new look," but everything changes as just a part of life. What I really dislike is that occassionally, especially after earning coins, the puzzle seems to automatically turn on the "See Wrong" key. I want to use it, and my hard earned coins when I choose to. And there is no way to turn it off once the puzzle starts. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

The app tends to freeze up during puzzles which is pretty annoying. The lag ends up slowing down my whole phone and it's difficult to finish puzzles quickly when the games glitches out and the timer stops.

I've completely changed my mind about this game and the developers who obviously don't care. You can see they don't even answer people's reviews here. I had been playing for many years and had thousands of coins when the app was accidentally uninstalled. When I reinstalled it, I lost everything! I sent an email to support as listed here, begging for help and telling them I was devastated. They didn't even have the decency to answer me.

Takes forever to load. Recently my daily puzzle streak never advances. It is stuck on one day completed. I cannot find anywhere to submit a bug report.

Used to enjoy the game, but after Zynga took over it has gone slowly downhill, and as there is no way to contact them about the problems in game I will have to inform them on here. The in game banner adverts now go on top of the crossword so you can't see what letters you have lol, making it totally unplayable, not to mention the laggy buttons and ridiculous rewards. "Win some coins by spending 10 or 20 coins on crosswords, great here is 3 back lol, cheers" Was fun, now unplayable.

I reinstalled this app but cannot log on with Facebook, it says the account your trying to log into is attached to a different account. I can do the puzzles but the profile keeps saying loading data..help

I used to really like this game, but now the play is really choppy, it's so bloated with ads, and the file is huge. It causes more frustration than fun. After 5 years, it's not worth the download anymore.

Like it but shuts down a lot. I lose all the puzzles I have completed when I update. Frustrating. Keeps progress but puzzles are gone like I never did them. Its been better since last update. Enjoy game

Been playing for years but last few updates have made this game very annoying. My stats and coins did not carry over, now the latest is that the add banner covers the first row of the puzzle!!!

My time is off, showing 3 seconds on one puzzle, 7 seconds on another one recently. Not fair to the other players or me. Can't get a hold of anyone to fix it.

It would be nice to earn coins each time you finish a puzzle or earn a badge instead of only through watching ads, purchasing, or by completing a large number of puzzles. Lots of ads!😒

Absolutely love that it is simply a great crossword puzzle, hate ones that forces you to do other things just to do their puzzle
