Unless your device has pre-installed software for this, you will need to install an e-reader app for viewing the eBooks and an audio player to listen to audiobooks.
Important: if you are having problems opening the eBooks, this is very likely because your eReader software has trouble opening the EPUB files (which are contained within the app and copied to the SD card to make them available to other software), for whatever reasons. If this keeps happening, please try a different eReader software (such as the free Aldiko reader) and check in your system settings which app is configured for opening EPUB eBooks by default.

This app needs permissions to access the internet in order to download the audio recordings and write access to external storage (SD card) to export resources to make them available to other (viewer) apps. Cthulhoid doesn't use ads and doesn't record or transmit any usage or user data.
Content and user interface of this app are english only! Please don't give me a hard time because the stories are in english, I'm not a translator and translated versions are usually not in the public domain.

I don't want to leave one star because I've enjoyed the app in the past, but it seems that all the epub links are broken now. When you tap a title it says "Unable to perform request" and shows the url destination. I hope this is because of site maintenance or something and not because the links are permanently down.
Was a wonderfully beautiful app that provided me hours and hours of beloved reading time. Unfortunately it seems to be abandoned, and does not work anymore. All the links are broken and non-functional. R.I.P. One of the best apps I've ever used. :(
I never leave reviews normally but I've been installing this app on every new phone I get over the years and I've I've gotta say I hope it always remains. A collection of all his works including audio books and fan fiction!!! 😍😍😍 Do you have and edgar Allen Poe collection if you I might just faint from all the cosmic and gothic goodness!
Fantastic app when it worked. Sadly, it seems abandoned, none of the links work any longer, so it essentially is useless.
I read a few stories on here in the past. Opened up the app one late night to read some more but sadly it does not work anymore. Ot will not load anything. Looks like other reviewers have the same problem. I guess I should delete it.
Originally loved it, but now it is useless since it will no longer open. Tried several different epub readers without success. Sad.
I've used this app many times in the past and have loved it. I've recently redownloaded it and for some reason It keeps trying to open in the zoom app.
I was too excited to try this app but was disappointed to learn it won't open any documents on my phone, Stylo 5. Tried two epub readers and it just doesn't work.
Upgraded my phone to the Galaxy S21 Ultra and this app stopped working! I use this app every single day and am hoping for some sort of update for newer phone models! Thank you!!

I did what it said and downloaded an epub reader app and it doesn't work.

The app hasn't been updated since 2014, and it is no longer functional. Back when it did still work it was amazing. The complete works of HP Lovecraft all in one place with no ads. I used this app to read through his entire repertoire.
