Love this game. Started with the actual card game which referred me to the iOs app. I have put a lot of time into the game and enjoy it still. Issues with the app is it gets very buggy. Does weird things that dont neccesarily make sense. With that there is also a level up mechanic that doesnt work for my account. I have played enough to get most of the levels. I have beaten all campaign levels with objectives except for the last one seems almost impossible. Great game just wish they would fix it
Game is fun. I installed this because I ordered the actual card game from Amazon, and I wanted to learn and practice the gameplay before it arrived. In that respect it was okay. The tutorial wasn't the best; I had to go on YouTube and watch someone do a playthrough to fill in the gaps. Once I got the basics down though, it was a lot of fun. The one thing that REALLY bothered me though is that you have to buy a full version to do almost everything. Just say that upfront.
perfect port of the tabletop version! was a little hard to find (it has never been in my suggested apps lists) but im glad i did! the one time in game purchase to unlock the online play is worth it, though you will have to wait a few minutes to connect with another player. only downside is i wish there were more missions and maybe some hero/star realms character pack/command deck style starting decks for a shake up! if you are on the fence and havent played star/hero realms, try this!
Terrible UI. Slow, can't see opponents' moves as they happen in games, the cards are hard to read, etc, etc. The game itself is good, but it's UI makes it miserable to play.
I feel this game is clunky compared to Star Realms... Star Realms I could play without needing to learn in depth texts. This has strange language that requires you to learn something really not needed to play a game. I believe they could have choosen a different theme all together or if this is a work in progress ditch the strange wording for powers and factions. More or less if I can't just play a game it's not very enjoyable.
The game looks very nice, and the controls (that I got around to using) worked well, but this game had a huge flaw... The tutorial was bad. It was very informative, but the devs don't give you any time to let the rules soak in. It feels like the game is far too complicated to just throw the rules at you and say "Good luck", but that's what they did. I got to the "On Your Own" section of Tutorial 2, and tried to work my way through the rest of the tutorial scenario they give you. After one round, I couldn't remember what all you could and couldn't do and gave up. I downloaded the game on the recommendation of my brother, and feel really let down by it. If the devs could revamp the tutorial to make it more intuitive and help reinforce the rules I would like to try it again.
Good port of an excellent game.. HOWEVER to my dismay it appears the app has an unlimited number of initiates..over 10 which is the maximum..also even if you abjure/scrap them..initiates are always available at over 10 (the maximum in the physical game). Something so simple should be modified so that the number of initiates are the same as in the physical game
Its decent. At the initial price you can only play against easy AI and do one phase of the campaign, everything else you have to pay extra. Not easy to zoom into cards unless you are playing them.
Really disappointing star realms is a really tight app that runs really well looks great and communicates its information quickly. Honestly Cthulu realms communicates information very poorly and the UI is really cluttered with shrunk down cards. Theres an animation dropping you closer to individual cards instead of just expanding them and it's literally nauseating.
Might be a little unfair, but it's a real disappointment that the art is so cartoony coming from Star Realms and the subject matter. While the art itself isn't bad, it detracts for me and the zoom in when picking cards is nauseating. Also, cards aren't really explained immediately and use words like 'Abjure' but kinda just confuses you when it means there's a 'Remove from play' stack. It feels obtuse in words and with the art style, I am just turned off. If you can get past that, it's alright.
I *really* want to like this game but the constant camera zooms are literally physically painful. Please add a setting to your Graphics menu that switches to always zooming the card up to the camera instead like in the spaceship card game.
Presentation: 6/5 . Great and funny art, moody music, funny and well narrated intros to the campaign. Gameplay: 3/5. Uninspired deck building game. No new mechanics, not enough variety.
Relatively fun card roguelike, even if matches take quite a while for a card game. A lot of images are pretty similar, making it hard to distinguish on a smartphone, and there's def some balance issues.
Bought the game awhile ago. Was fun, played it regularly for some time. Stopped playing it for a bit. Got a new phone but same Google play account. The game was even on my new phone. But now I need to buy it AGAIN in order to use the paid features. Too bad I will not be paying for it again
I got this game yesterday ago and I unlocked ked it by paying. However I installed it recently and i was not able to recover my purchase. Otherwise a great game.
Had it for so long and still playing. Great way to spend some time. Randomized draw is good and keeps it challenging.
I have played this game almost daily since I downloaded it several years ago, and I'm not tired of it yet. I own it IRL, too, and enjoy that version quite a bit. As an introvert, though, I especially appreciate that I can play this one on my own whenever I want! ;)
A fun game for a little how ever game can lag but also the worst thing about this game is the ai it cheats mostly on hard able to buy cards with low mana deal tons of damage if you are protected by structures cuts right through them at no cost can pull cards out of nowhere and even if you spend you mana on loads of good card the game give you the terrable cards over and over again until you lose this game is luck based even then mabey once in blue and red moon you might have chance at winning
I bought the extra campaigns years ago but its says its unable to validate receipt. I want access to what I paid for. Want my game back
Absolutely blast. I do wish there were more players online to play. Seems you can't advance levels for beating the same people over and over again.
Why is it, maybe it's me, so difficult to purchase full version? I tried Google pay and PayPal, keeps getting hung up on Initializing screen. The free version is great, but I want full.
First chapter of the campaign was fun but not really compelling enough to buy the full game. I liked the theme and the gameplay though.
The game is excellent and easy to pick up, not easy to master, which is good. I'd like to buy the complete version now, but the link ain't working....
Easy & entertaining. I play at least one game per day. It would be a blessing if the background art could be a screen saver.
Pathetic. I enjoyed this game up until level 4. At this point it became obvious that you couldn't beat your opponent other than simply playing the game so much you get lucky on one occasion. Decided that I wasn't sad enough to waste my time on just s game and have deleted it.
A classic deck builder that doesn't force you to grind levels or watch excessive ads. Even has a short but enjoyable enough story. My biggest complaint is that makes it hard for you to see your own cards without excessive clicking to zoom in on them. When you're first to discard it a card after a draw you can be stuck unable to tell what the new card was to decide whether or not you want to discard it since it won't let you zoom in on it first
