I love the Cube Escape series, but the walkthrough is impossible for me because in all games except Paradox the background is missing, which is necessary for passing. It is a pity that this is so. I will be glad if the problem can be corrected. Upd: it still doesn't work, but thank you for noticing this anyway. I found out that several other users are complaining about it too. Upd2: Yay, it works! :D
Should be good, but doesn't work properly. For some puzzle the prizes didn't ever appear into my inventory so i had to use walkthrough to continue as i couldnt view the clues on the paper. It was literally impossible to finish as I never actually 'got' the fireflies after finishing the fly puzzle so just died at the end which is super annoying.
Short but fun game. Rusty lake games force you to use your brain differently. Spoilers ahead: What makes absolutely no sense whatsoever is to tie a rope into a safety pin attached to a cardboard box! I had to look that one part in a walkthrough. Could hardly see those damn holes. Also, as a person with ADHD the domino puzzle drove me completely insane..
I think the first one was better. Being stuck in a cardboard box with a knife and burning matches defies the logic of having to solve intricate puzzles, especially if I'm a bird that seems to be able to read and solve all this. Some stuff like the bugs were fun to solve, others like the dominoes were frustrating because of the need of tiresome trial and error.
I'm new to RL games, but I'm pretty exprienced with room escape games. This is a pretty short puzzle game, but the creativity of the puzzles is bizzare and i absolutely adore it, I'm gonna go ahead and play every single one of these games in a chronological order. Keep up the great work.
Gosh, it was great. I don't agree with a previous comment stating it was too hard and wasn't straightforward. I could complete it without hints or a walktrough. One thing, might have been too short. :)
All the Rusty Lake escape games are awesome! Love the animation and illustrations. The puzzles are just hard enough to be intriguing and fun. It's a little from and extremely odd at times, but that's kinda what makes it better!
Ok I love these games but this was the worst one so far. Puzzles were not clear at all and the game wasn't even playable without the help of a walkthrough. I've found that to be a problem in most of them but it was worst felt here. Not only that but this one just,,, wasn't even fun to play. Frustrating and boring
It's a great game and does not have issue at all ( I'm using android ). And for those who say the domino is broken and other stuff that is ruined maybe they did not get back to try again... They fixed it. And atlast for those who say the game doesn't make sense maybe you didn't understand the logic in there and people please, its a game stop saying how that even possible bro you need to think outside the box and basically it's a game , it's a game people what's not clicking what's not clicking.
Okay, but not great addition to the Rusty Lake series. The minipuzzles are fun enough, but it's a very short game, even by free gane standards. Some of the mechanics were interrsting, but much more a traditional puzzle game than an escape or point-and-click game.
I didn't enjoy this one compared to the others. There wasn't much story and the puzzles seemed less logical and try random things instead. And the logical ones were a bit tedious to solve. The setting is also a bit boring (a cardboard box h that's it) Ending was nicely creepy though and I admire the bravery of the idea even if for me it didn't quite work
The most stupid and uncomfortable cube escape ive played so far. I get the notes puzzle, but its made unnecessarily uncomfortable, since u have to memorize 4 bars of music. Even knowing the note names its very frustrating. The domino puzzle is straight up stupid, there is no logical way to solve it, since for every one piece there are at least 3 possible continuations, and unless u fully combine it u dont know that u put something wrong
Loved it. Much harder than Arles, great twist considering the setting, really set the mood moving into Case 23. Harvey's Box is the first one that I'd call challenging, though while tough, it really just helps keep the bar moving while progressing through the first ten chapters. Very cool.
I love all the cube escape games, except for this one. A lot of the steps just had no logic and couldn't be figured out without lots of walkthroughs. The glass/crow/fish part was agonizing. I kept doing what I understood from the walkthrough with no results for a long time.
I'm a huge Rusty Lake fan. A few clues in this game didn't make any sense to me though. I'm still trying to figure out how a book lights a match stick.🤔🥴 I wouldn't recommend starting with this one if you're new to their escape puzzles. Maybe try Samsara or Paradox to start with which are more consistently intuitive.
The only Rusty Lake game I haven't liked. I liked the mini puzzle concept, however, with the exception of the dominoes, I spent more time trying to figure out what the puzzles were then actually solving......recommend skipping this one and picking ANY OTHER rusty lake game.
This game was is as good as the others in the series and I will agree that this game is one of the best one in the Cube Escape Series. Now other reviews were stating a black background bug but I have not encountered it neither in this one nor the previous ones.
While I was curious confused at first with these games, I'm beginning to realize that they are not independent stories. To get the full narrative you must play all of them (preferably in order.) I'm several games past this one now and who "Harvey" even is and why he was in a box is beginning to make much more sense. I highly recommend playing all the games.
I've come back after a few months to replay all of Rusty Lake's Cube Escape games. the replayability is fantastic and I absolutely don't regret using my google rewards credits to get a these games. Such beautiful graphics and story and I'm always left wanting more and to know more.
updoot: thank you for the fix! plays beautifully, though the domino one was impossible without walkthrough as the outline of the places the dominos are supposed to go is invisible, at least on high graphics. beautifully spooky game, as always.
Awesome! This one was way cool! I really liked the logic puzzles, and I like that even though they were logic puzzles it was still unsettling. I did have trouble trying to figure out what the pigeon song meant I needed to do, but still had fun with it!
Oh my this one was great, if you are wondering what game to play start off with Seasons, then The Lake, Arles and then this one (there's more going in the order: Case 23, Mill, B-Day, Theatre, The Cave, Paradox. Go play them all!)! The puzzles were pretty simple and fun but the ending was very scary. SPOILER: A man is at the top and reaches his hand down, so give him the three fireflies you got from the puzzle and tap the floating box to win the game. Thanks for this game, they're all so amazing
After playing other escape games on the store front I've got to say, these are a breath of fresh air, the art is good, the puzzles are somewhere in the middle for difficulty, and have logical solutions, well done.
Rusty lake created a new masterpiece. Cube escape series were the best escape games series I ever played. With a challenging story and an addictive gameplay it really deserve the bests. But I mostly recommend every one to play it in order and then you can solve the mystery.
It was shorter and harder then the others. Like really short. I liked it but wasn't expecting it tobe thisshort. The other ones i have played took me hours but this one finished in 30 minutes. There were only 4 puzzles. Hard but yeah, short.
Played this game immediately after Rusty Lake's newest game, Samsara Room. Well... let's just say they've come a long way since Harvey's Box. The puzzles in this range from unintuitive to plain arcane, with no logical or discernible structure from one puzzle to the next. Looking back on Samsara Room, I'm able to remember the "narrative" of the sequence of puzzles, but with Harvey's Box it's a mishmash of random things I did which made little sense in hindsight. Considering Harvey's Box is real old, I'll say keep it up, Rusty Lake. Keep on improving.
I LOVE RL games. So much so that I have purchased them all, forced my family to play them. Just love them! The only exemption was this game.... I can't put my finger on it, but it's the only one I've had to cheat on (a lot) and been unable to work out why that's the answer. Also, I'm not musical, so the comb and pigeon thing took me WAY longer than it should have. I have now completed every single RL game now and can confidently say, they are well worth your time. Don't play this one 1st
It won't actually let me finish the game? I got to the very end, did what I thought I was supposed to and...then I was stuck. I had to reset the game, and then I tried again, did exactly what the walkthrough said and,,,,same thing. Send all 3 fireflies and nothing. Otherwise it was fun enough, not my favorite cube escape, but still fun. But being able to get to the very very end and not be able to technically finish it is,,disappointing.
