It has 6 different game variations, which can be played in either a cube layout or a sphere layout, with either free or fixed rotation, making for 18 game variations in total, from relaxed 'play at your own pace' to nail biting against the clock game types.
It has separate Google Play leaderboards for each of the 6 different game types, plus a leaderboard of the top artifact bonus scores and has a rolling display of the weekly best time or score for each of the different game types. Competition is fierce to stay on top each week.

Artifact collection system.
Upon successful completion of games you have a chance to gain gold, artifact fragments or whole artifacts.Collected artifacts are stored in your artifact compendium and give a bonus to your score when you match cubes with the same design as the artifact. The more your collection grows the greater the potential score bonus.You can also collect gold and artifact fragments, which you can trade for any artifacts you are missing from your collection. Some artifacts give a greater bonus score than others (but have a greater gold and fragments cost), and collecting multiples of the same artifact will further increase the bonus it gives.
Standard Game---------------------Remove cubes by matching pairs of same coloured cubes until there are none left. Earn extra points by matching multiple pairs in quick succession. No time limit. Your score in this game can be increased by collecting artifacts.
Timed Game----------------Select pairs of matching cubes until there are none left. Initially there is a 15 minute time limit in which to finish the cube. The time limit decreases by 5% every time you successfully complete a game, or it increases by 5% if you fail to complete the game in time.
Speed Cube---------------A fast paced game with a smaller 3x3 cube block and a 30 second time limit. How quickly can you clear the cubes, quick thinking and fast reactions will be required to top the leaderboard. Holder of the weekly best score is displayed on main menu.
Cube Builder----------------The idea of this game is different in that you start off with just a few cubes and more are added as time goes by. The rate that cubes are added increases as time passes and the game is over when the block is fully rebuilt. Your goal in this game is to keep the block from being completed as long as possible and in doing so earn as many points as you can. As in the standard game extra points are awarded for matching pairs in quick succession. Your score in this game can be increased by collecting artifacts.
Picture Search-------------------This is a memory version of the standard game, in which all the designs are hidden and are only revealed when you click on the cubes. If you select two cubes that match they are removed as usual, otherwise the pictures are hidden again. Your score in this game can be increased by collecting artifacts.
MatchIt!-----------With this version of the game you have to find and select two cubes that have the same design as shown at the left of the screen. You have a limited time to find them and if you run out of time you will lose 10% of your current score, and you will be presented with another design to find. You can use the PASS button at the top of the screen to skip any that you are struggling to find without losing any score, but you only have 5 passes.
In all versions of the game that award points except MatchIt! , making incorrect matches will deduct some points.

The tutorial says you win gold coins whenever you win. That's not the case. What's the use of playing and winning if your score never goes up?
I am a newbie at this and only play the standard cube game and have never checked the high scores. I love how wildly colorful every cube is. It's like a changing work of art. It is challenging and interesting; never boring. I x out one ad at the bottom in the beginning because it is usually strobing and distracting but no complaints about ads as most other games. Excellent app.
Very easy to play, challenge is finding match quickly. Very relaxing & fun. One problem though ... after a game ends a treasure chest pops up with coins or artifacts. Sometimes the game freezes when the chest appears and the only solution is to turn the whole game off. None of the buttons will respond. Any suggestions?
Love this game and play it almost every day, but it has a glitch that has almost made me stop playing! If I play more than 2 or 3 rounds, it will randomly start over right in the middle or towards the end of a round and you lose your score! It happens every time eventually if you play enough rounds. Very irritating! Has anyone else had at this trouble?
Love this game which is something I thought I would never say about any game. Everytime I finish one game I end up starting another one. I haven't tried anything but matching picture cubes and the match cubes to tear down the stack but hopefully will get to the others when I figure out the instructions. The instructions are not always clear on some. Once you get used to the two I play it's not as difficult. I'm not a big score person, just like to relax.
I used to be addicted to this game. The latest update added new game pieces that are a completely different style than the ones already in the game. In short, the new pieces are ugly. They are unpleasant to look at and I find that I just don't like the game so much now. ETA: Thank you for fixing the graphics! Once again spending too much time playing this game. Could zoom feature be returned to previous parameters? Doesn't zoom enough now. it
This game is good enough for me to purchase. I like the complexity added by the overlap of cubes in the sphere arrangement. The option labeled 'fixed rotation' should be either 'fixed placement' or 'no rotation' as it seems to remove all possible rotation. I expected a button or arrows that would cause a stepped rotation. (I.e. 45 or 90 degrees in one axis only) The graphics are rather eye searing as well. I would appreciate a choice of colour pallets.

Very addictive and time consuming. Cant stop playing. I love the flags one, that's even more challenging. What I want to say to the developers is; PLEASE CAN WE HAVE LOADS OF THESE? Think of all the scope there is. And because it is a cube or sphere it's a better dimension than just mahjong. Love it!
Enjoying this game very much graphics are a bit hard on the eyes at first but quickly adjust. I Love all the options the picture match is especially cool because it helps with memory. Ads are not too intrusive my only complaint is I wish I could remove the timer like other cube games.
this is rather fun! The music is great, the gameplay is nice and so are the game modes. The only advice I have is to use vector graphics for the cube designs — that way they won't become blurry when up close like in the "speed cube" mode.
Played a game quite similar to this years ago. It didn't have scores, coins, timers, pop up screens etc. It was just a relax and take your time match game. When you finished one cube you could simply start another. This game needs a mode like that.
WOW! This game is Sooo much fun! FREE FREE FREE this is one of the best games that is really fun to play and ads are not intrusive to game play. Multiple modes of play, challenging but not frustrating. HIGH FIVE TO THE DEVELOPERS! *edit-I paid to go ad free & I've been playing their international flags version of the same game.
The game is a lot of fun, but it crashes everytime (just turns black suddenly) and when I re-open it, I have to start a different type of game, otherwise it shuts down right away... Please fix!
I've had this app a cpl years now. I've no issues. I still LOVE to play it. I've transferred it at least 6 times. From device to device and from online backup. This game totally gives me a headache and makes my eyes cross but its so hard for me to stop! I absolutely love it. So much more fun than flat, plain old MahJong! I have not had a bit of trouble with the game like freezing up or annoying ads. Very enjoyable! My best go-to game now. Seriously, really fun!
the timer score and zoom controls and windows cover up over half of the cube on my chromebook making the game unplayable and I noticed that the app runs in the background after I quit and closed the app, there were no permissions asked to allow it to steal my data so I can only assume its illegal data harvesting! uninstalled, If I want my data harvested Ill use farcebook
HELP! I REALLY MISS PLAYING THIS GAME! If I was reviewing this on my old Pixel XL, I'd give it 5 stars. I just bought the new Pixel 6 and the cubology games are the only ones that didn't transfer from my old phone. I really like the game but it will not download to my phone. I've tried all the steps I was prompted to do but nothing has worked.
Love this game! Bought add free. The developers actually email you back too! I find this relaxing. Different modes to play in. Timed & not timed, you pick. There's also another version. Cubology flags. Check it out! Had an issue, and the developers fixed next day!
Game is OK, but it's s timed game, requiring concentration and attention to detail. Yet ads randomly pop up and throw off your entire rhythm and flow. Messes up the entire game, if I could punch someone in the nose that designed this feature I would give 5 stars.
Good morning from the UK - I don't know where Cubeology HQ is! Enjoying the game but have one problem. Today I was rewarded fragments when I opened the game - 14 today as I have been playing daily. I went straight into the Artifact Compendium (planning to buy artifacts) and could see my 14 new fragments. Before spending them on an artifact, I exited the Compendium (returning to the menu) and then went back in. All my 14 fragments had disappeared (as if I had purchased something).
Every so often , the game locks up, only when it first starts. I know if it licks up, when the sphere of icons doesn't come up. Please fix this. I do love to play your game, even if some of the colors hurt my eyes, if I play when I first wake up. Meaning, go feed the chickens, first!
I enjoy the game but having to get 5 of each thing in every icon and set before you can move up makes the game overly repetitive and robotical to try and get ahead. Needs easier ways to move forward and more creativity in how you play
I love this game! I just wish that you could get more points/rewards for beating it in standard mode without having to move the puzzle at all to find matching pieces.
What is with all the ads? When I first started playing the game there were not so many ads. Now there are ads after every stinking level! I am so close to uninstalling this game, and I absolutely love this game. Please do something about the constant ads. Thank you.
I like it. I like. I've been playing it a lot. I used to do it the original way just matching them got a little boring and easy So I started playing it like I played mahjong, just doing the ones with a open edge . Much more fun. The only thing I wish you could do is have differently themed pieces. Other than that I enjoy it
I took a star off simply because I feel rather than just a good game they could have made it an awesome game. Very addictive. You can make it as easy or hard as you want it to be. Great distresser. There are ads but they're not intrusive and lots available for extra cards or boosts. There's some kind of crashing problem I didn't see it but they even addressed it inside the game. Give it a try. Oh and the background music is rather catchy in a lame kind of way.
