EDIT 22/05/22 - having continued problems establishing and maintaining a connection between Alexa and Cubo . Generally good and reliable. The odd connection problem, and would be nice if all the records could be accessed and not just the last month, but otherwise all good! Alexa sync is really helpful too.
Same issue as lots of other reviews. When the app is working correctly it's great. As soon as you click off the app and attempt to return to it, it will normally fail to show the video stream. Lots of our family who use the app are having the same issue (We recommended many friends and family to buy a Cubo which i'm now questioning!). The cubo AI dev team really need to figure this out as its beyond frustrating having to hard restart the app every time you want to see your baby.
Great product across the board. Gives only about a 1s delay in audio and video, which is a fantastic response time for a WiFi monitor. Video is clear and mic sensitivity is very high. It's also very easy to travel to relatives house with and change the WiFi. There's only one negative I can think of, the full screen mode for the video will cut the top and bottom of very slightly.
Lots of lagging, going black, freezing and run around from customer service. The best solution I have gotten so far from them is to unplug it and replug it. They ask the same questions multiple times during troubleshooting almost as if they're hoping to stall so you give up bothering them. Concept is great but they need to workout the issues with the app and or hardware.
I'm currently trying to update the cubo and it is doing nothing to update it. It's sending me alerts on my phone, but they're not buzzing or tweeting. I've checked settings on my phone and on the cubo... I'm not too happy. Love the camera, love the concept, but the app needs a lot more work. I'd rather have to many alerts than none at all...
This app has been so disappointing, I got the premium care package which is supposed to hold on to the daily images taken for 30 days but is just deleted my images. The alerts are bad, it just spams you for the slightest movement. The settings don't seem to actually work, when I turned off the auto daily image it kept taking them making me wonder how secure their service actually is.
We got this specifically to watch our child via Alexa Echo show or Google home hub. It was working great but since last week, when I tell Alexa to show me the baby, it says camera isn't responding. Still works on Google home hub tho. I believe this is a bug with Alexa integration and probably not the app it self. Please fix! Update 3.24.22. The issue has been fixed. Great app!
Freezes often & customer support does not help. They text everything through a chat & are very frustrating. App crashes a lot. Gave to open it & close it all the time. Get a better monitor.
Update: work around exists. Replace the alert tone with a custom tone. The alerts stopped making sound on all linked devices. First occured about a month ago. Resetting the camera, app, nothing has fixed this. An update has cleary broken something.
I had an Owlet cam but returned it in favour of this. It's much more reliable! I would like the option to more quickly switch to having the audio on in the background. But so far I like it.
For as much money spent on the camera for it to never connect on the app, then it does and then it stops working again. Had Cubio swap Birds and it didn't fix the issue. So disappointed with the internet connection status. But all in all I do not recommend.
Great! One of the best things we bought as first time parents. Very reassuring to be able to watch our baby night or day with clear video feed and find the rollover/face cover alert is very very accurate. Love it (6 months in).
Works great on my husband's iPhone but on my Google pixel it constantly freezes and then completely ceases to work for quite some time. Mighty annoying. When the app does work, it's great.
I had given this 1 star previously based purely on the lagginess of the app and how much it crashed. Since the last update it has been so much more responsive, quicker to load initially and generally more reliable. The image quality seems to have improved, which was unexpected because it was already excellent. I cannot give 5 stars until there's been some consistency, but I've had a very encouraging impression since the update. Thanks devs :)
Super simple setup process and has had zero downtime for me. The camera has only a minor latency of like half a second which is better than I expected for a camera through wifi.
Only works about 50% of the time. Often stuck loading with no picture or the live video starts freezing and jumping forward. I have tried using different wifi connections and its still the same.
I've been using Cubo for over a year now. Recently the app automatically logged me out and now prevents me from logging back in. I tried everything, even reinstalled the app. Thus, I am unable to use the monitor. The monitor was good, however, the app is garbage. Not recommending this product because without properly functioning app this device is useless...
Not a Paid Review I understand some people's problems but the connectivity issue is NOT Cubo's fault. We are running 400mb on Google's WIFI Mesh and have had zero problems. This camera and AI are simply amazing. I WOULD highly recommend this to any new parent that wants the peace of mind.
The app works slow, Freezes my phone every time I open the app, (samsung galaxus21) Takes forever to link the camera to the app. When it finally gets to work its really good. Bit takes 15 mins of reconecting
The app often has delays/crashes like won't recognise face covered or 10min late to telling you the baby is out of the cot. Also an improvement would be to change the length of melodies rather than 30, 60 have them maybe 45 and 1h 15 or so it seems to wake my baby as the music turns off abruptly, another improvement would be to slowly increase the sound as you start a lullaby as well as decrease as it's going off, cry alerts now being available while lullaby are playing is ridiculous
There are constant connection issues and the app freezes all the time. I usually have to force close and reopen the app everytime I use it. Very unreliable
(Lol this is from the Google account I created for the cameras. )Needs more work but they need the data from the crashes to improve. Very friendly and quick to respond. They release consistent updates and take feedback seriously.
This product is dangerous and will cost the lives of babies. Flat out DOES NOT WORK. For $300 and a monthly subscription you better make sure you video streaming works. On an S22 ULTRA video barley plays extremely choppy no notifications for crying or any other claims notifications. No sound and definitely no backround sound Send this product back for a refund immediately.
With the latest firmware update, the app and the camera have been great. A far cry to how it operated for me a few months back. Thank you for continually updating your product. Much appreciated!
Do not buy this product. The app is a bit persnickety but overall ok. BUT the camera only lasted just over 18 months before it stopped working. Seriously disappointed given the price. I have already been in contact regarding this fault (and a few others, June 2020 first time being just after purchase) and I was told (politely) too bad it's out of warranty you need to send it OS pay $120+ shipping and not have it for multiple months or buy a new or refurbished one. A camera this $$ should last!
Connection drops out at least weekly and has to be set up again. No problem with any of our other wifi products just the cubo. Sick of having to pair every time just to check on my baby. Used to recommend this monitor but not anymore.
Doesn't work properly on my Google Pixel 6 Pro (Android 12). Image quality isn't great. Needs a design update. Also more features.
After contacting support it was found that a "security" feature automatically logs you out and deletes any family shares after 1 year. After multiple re-invites, reinstalls and creation of new accounts, I was able to get family sharing working again. Poor design, but support was good.
I dont no how to make the alerts for if baby rolls or anything like that to be more alerting to wake me up. Like an alarm. Because it's only notifing me on the app.
For such a high quality product in the camera, the app is atrocious. Constant freezes, black screens and crashing. Background sound is relied upon, yet random crashes defeat the purpose. And the menu! The toggle for the background sound should not be so obscure. It should be on the front page. And the aspect ratio, what happened to that? If in landscape mode, the image is cut off. Zooming is clunky and constantly resets the position. Seems to work better on my wife's iPhone.
