Confusing if you're new to the game and the help wasn't really that helpful. Once you pick it up it can be really fun but definitely a learning curve. I gave up unfortunately from seeing how much work it took to get to the final hurdle (far too random, not enough control over getting the lore you need) but I enjoyed it.
Boy, does this game have a learning curve! A challenging, stimulating, aesthetically rewading, entertaining, and almost poetic journey of a learning curve. Advice: just play, play, play, and dowhatever you feel like. I would, however, like to see an expansion of cards - I get pretty tired of working for Grover.
really enjoy this game. it's confusing enough to keep me entertained but also really relaxing & I like the card mechanics. Loads of different paths with stories. can get frustrating at times but that's nothing to do with the game just how I play it and the story haha. Excited to try out loads of different paths & get to grips with it. Worth the money & I like the art a lot
Incredibly fun game! I really enjoy the management of it and all the lore. Certainly not for everyone and has a severe learning curve which I'm STILL trying to manage, but it's truly a blast! Only real gripe is that board management is pretty difficult on mobile, and I wish that was easier.
I actually first bought this on pc, but also got the app version to be able to play more places because of how fun it it is. Challenging, but super enjoyable with each play. There's replayability in each route, not to mention just trying to explore all avenues. Legit hours upon hours of play, I love it!
This game may seem confusing at first, and it leaves you to figure out what to do on your own - however that, in my opinion, is part of the experience. It leaves you to rustle through the lore so to speak, and really succeeds in creating a feeling of reading through those books to figure out a mystery or a ritual. The aesthetic is on point and the game is very long, with a lot of replayability. So far the experience was worth the McDonalds meal I couldn't get with this money.
Game is unique, different, and mostly good. But theres one thing that too much of a turn off. I died after progressing for 4 hours and it feels like that i had to redo the same thing i did again for the last 4(since im still new, dunno what to do,and everything is pretty much almost walking blindly). There should be a solid save so that i can go back in a point in time where im most comfortable restarting instead of doing it start from fresh. Please. Other than that, its good.
From the comments I've read online, it is apparent that winning for the first time usually requires around 20 hours. There are several characters and several victory paths to choose from. Potentially, hundreds of hours of gameplay and then some more if you buy the DLCs (6.99€ for all 4 DLCs).
Something unlike I've ever seen before. If you like resource management you'll love this. If I were to nitpick, I wish Study was faster. In the late game it's all too common to have 10+ books or lore that needs to be combined. Every other action like dreaming or exploring just ends way faster than the Study can keep up with.
Well worth the money; a single game can last hours, and the replayability is amazing! A very interesting idea and an incredible execution make for a complex, entertaining, and thought-provoking game, which feels organic rather than systematic. Looking forward to more content from Playdigious.
Very fun, Very Difficult. I haven't even finished a game, 3 months after purchase, but I remain invested. The lore, the gameplay, and the theme are all very fascinating, and I honestly think you don't need to win to enjoy this game. Every run gives you new knowledge (Well...most ;) ), and you constantly improve. The DLCs make the experience even better. BUY IT ALREADY!
Recent update corrected issues on Android 12. Great adaptation of the desktop version and easy to play on the go. Saving means you can get a quick session in if you only have a few minutes of downtime. Can get a little cramped on smaller screens so keep that in mind.
As others have said a chaotic and difficult learning curve, but an intriguing one. Sometimes its almost more an action race game of throwing cards at options to see what happens.
This game really is awsome, every character is a completely different play style, every run is different with multiple directions.. super happy with all the extra characters devs.. it really has expanded on the game.. looking forward to trying to win with the exile but in no hurry 😊
I have a same problem where game will automatically quit during the intro quote scene. Tried uninstalling and installing multiple times and it still wont work. Please help, otherwise this is a good game. Update- It's working again
Great port and the perfect time of game on mobile. Text is a little small, so you may have to pause a lot to zoom in and read certain things till you get to know the game.
Not had long and still learning but this game seems great with plenty of depth. Be prepared to die a lot! In a world of dodgy, half finished, broken, and forgotten about apps this is a breath of fresh air no glitches, no bugs, and no crashes. Well done devs
No instructions other than "experiment" but it works. Satisfying eventually figuring out what goes where and when, though you wouldn't be looked down on for having a cheeky gander at a few guides for assistance
I had the good fortune of owning this lovely title on the computer when it first arrived. I own a copy of it on a switch and now on my phone it can be a bit grindy. That does not subtract from the journey and discovery this lovely title offers. Cheers and enjoy your Odyssey.
I spent hours absolute hours taking the slow route, had all my skills maxed, was buying out the bookshop, building up so very carefully on my phone. Decided to install the game on my tablet and Google Play WIPED my saved data and overwrote it with the Aspirant. I'm actually in tears. I don't even know if I can bear to start over again.
To be honest.... I have no clue what's happening half the time but I'm absolutely hooked. I started having dreams in the same fashion as the games and felt myself missing something in the dreams. Way too addicting. Still have no clue what's going on.
This game is one of my favorite games. The gameplay is unique, the lore and story is fascinating, and the game provides a fair bit of challenge for the player. The best $2 I've ever spent.
I think this is probably a good game. It's difficult to know. Bit confusing but I expect that much from these wonderful game designers who are just as much leading me to madness as the characters in the game.
This could be the best app based game I've played in years. Challenging, highly addictive and sets a mood with minimally brilliant storytelling.
Great game and great port to the mobile setting. It's fun and challenging, allows for a tone of experimentation!
What a phenomenal experience. This is such a complex game with an extremely interesting world. Not much will be explained to you when you play it, but learning how things work (even if it kills you) is a big part of the fun!
This game is fantastic! This port does have a few issues though, primarily, a sound bug that requires you to restart the app. The game also has some inconsistencies with the PC version, such as the Reason job giving you the option of using Passion when working overtime, even though it doesn't do anything (as far as I am aware at least). A great time sink of a game that will really magnetize your temptations and hook you in during times of restlessness before it turns to despair.
