CUPSS Mobile Assistant
A mobile App to allow CUPSS asset creation and export in the field.
The CUPSS Mobile Assistant offers phone- and tablet-based data entry on both Android and iOS devices for water & wastewater systems conducting an asset inventory, the first step in developing an infrastructure asset management plan.
This app allows the utility operator to work in the plant and on site, reducing the need to enter handwritten data in the office.
Information is compiled in an excel spreadsheet which is then exported using the device’s email client. The spreadsheet template design is compatible for import to EPA’s CUPSS asset management software (www.epa.gov/cupss).
Extended application of this app can be useful to any utility, town, county government, small business to even personal households.
As with any first version software, there are some improvements needed: 1) user ability to name app export file(s), 2) connection and display of attached GPS devices to improve location accuracy, 3) use of decimals when completing the “Acres of Land” field, 4) photo file hotlink to respective asset. Please note the latter two points are related to the CUPSS software format not this app.
