(review for the app itself, not the content) This is a pretty standard article-feed app. Works great, the only issue I have is sometimes it opens an article that I did not explicitly tap on - I might just swipe by it to scroll down and it opens. Also, when exiting an article there's a slight delay from when you open it, so you have to wait a second before you can get back out if you opened it accidentally. Other than that, works great.

I have had this app for years now and I love the intention behind it. That being said within the past year the structure of the app has changed to be more ad dependent (unless you pay for an ad free experience) and that has hugely affected the optimization. It lags, freezes, and crashes frequently now. I understand the reasoning for increasing the ads but please optimize your app to be able to handle it!

Curiosity is the application that has been showing articles that are controversial and provoke your initial view about the world. I like the function where it gives you an article a day to cater individuals who are busy. And if you have more time you can head to the discovery to find out more about others from various categories. Also, you can like the article to save it to your archive. Simplicity. Sharing function is easy as well. User friendly. Thank you!

This app is fantastic! Instantly easy to navigate, beauitfully designed, endless number of interesting topics, articles, videos and more. Well written, well researched. I found myself "liking" almost every article I read. I downloaded this in an attempt to distance myself from using Facebook every day - my fear was that I'd lose out on news & current events. I may have found exactly what I was looking for in this app!

I love the content in the app, however the technical issues make it fall short of amazing. The content doesn't fit well within the screen as the left and right edges seems cut off, and there's no momentum to the scrolling - instead of flicking to scroll a little, it just stops as soon as you remove your finger.

Installed on Samsung Tab s4. Theres no landscape mode which is pretty strange for a mobile app, also the text is cut off for the article titles on the sides of the screen which seems like the app is not scaling properly. Also found it odd that the pictures in the article previews are streched or warped. The app does do what it claims, the UI feel like it really needs some love.

Love this app and the content you bring to it. I have been reading and listening to your podcasts since you started podcasts. However, I am finding that I can't get through an article without pop up ads taking me to Google Play store for software like NordVpn. *Today I have up even trying to read an article on Escher Sentences because I had about a dozen ads before reaching the end of the first paragraph. Please fix the ads.* Thanks. *Edit: Ads appear to be fixed, back to reading your awesome content. Cheers!*

I loved this app when I first installed it. It was fun to learn new things every day. Now, a year later, it's no good. They keep sending out the same articles over and over, or it's all about how to be like Elon Musk... I don't really care about Musk's favorite book, tyvm. But worst of all, the number of articles every day has gone from 6ish to a measely 1! And they're surrounded by at least 3 ads masquerading as articles. I will uninstall unless this goes back to its original quality.

This app seems to default to push notifications on after opening - and not just after install because I keep having to turn them off. So the app sits active and is really the only thing on my phone I can attribute to accelerated battery drain and RAM drain. I downloaded it originally because the concept is good; but this & ads, it's not worth the hassle. Maybe if you shell out money, you'll get something; as for a trial before purchase...that's not really feasible per my experience.

It's a paid service that curates freely available content. All of the videos I tried are literaally being played via YouTube. Lots of short clips and a lot less documentaries. Also lists of articles are the first thing you see when clicking on a category. I was looking for a good documentary streaming service. This is not that. Sort of a hodge podge of not sure what.

Publication date should be at the top area near the title, not at the bottom. It helps in determining the freshness of the piece. It is especially important for news and research related items. It is intentionally kept at the bottom for promoting social share of dated content, the app is breaking publishing ethics. The usefulness of any information almost always needs to be validated with respect to the context of time. By putting it at the top you would help the readers to add that context in their reading experience. Hope you would consider. Good luck.

Really cool content, new content every day, large variety of different catagories of stories, material is extremely fascinating- you will find content that piques your interest no matter what those are. Love the widget, not only a great app if you have a little time to kill but also provides a way to do it that actually puts that time to good use where you will actually learn something new (and interesting!)

This app is great! The articles are well-written and contain prooflinks (which is especially important if you want to do more research on the topic). Too bad it doesn't have an option to organize your saved articles according to their categories or even customized tags. or maybe it does, but I didn't find it. Otherwise, this app is really helpful if you want to "believe in 6 impossible things before breakfast" or just to expand your horizons.

I love the fun brain teasers and bits of knowledge I get from this app. It's well researched and cleanly designed. Ads are unobtrusive, well interested into the design, and do not take away from the overall experience like some apps with persistent pop ups. I can spend hours reading topic after topic. So sad it's going away.

love the content but they really need to add a "night mode" to the interface. the solid white background becomes straining to the eyes after a little bit, especially during the later hours of the day. otherwise a great app with great content. the articles are easy to read and comprehend as well as interesting.

Descent news app. Articles are a toss up on interest level. It would be nice to be able to customize interests for more personally revelent material delivery. The reason for three stars is the purely random stories, but mostly the inordinately high number of ads. Persistent lower banner with more after almost every paragraph. Way to disruptive, and zero relivancey. Goodbye.

Although the articles are really informative and at the same time entertaining, the app needs to improve its functionality. Like how we could save our favourite articles under particular titles or download them and easily reach them later. In short the app needs to be able to do more than just let us read!

I like the content of this app but it's UI is not up to mark. Something is missing. It does not feel smooth while you are accessing the app. The developers need to work on it. The adds are placed abruptly. A small suggestion to developers please have a look into the UI of In shorts app. It's just smoothening.

It serves good articles on a wide range of topics. But beware, the articles have a lot of text. Most of which is not even needed. For example if there is an article on a recently found black hole, it'll go on for two paragraphs about what a black hole is, how they are myterious..and how they found gravitational waves from merger of two black holes are some clever sentences to fill the pages. Then there's on paragraph on the actual thing. Just not worth your time.

Excellent App! ☆ Diverse content ☆ There's a cheap ad-free option, but the ads blend in well enough to put up with them. ☆ It provides a better timeline to scroll than Facebook, (which I'm far to used to doing). ☆ Accurate (seeming?) information. ☆ Excellent sources with great, no-lag links. I'm new to the app and hoping it learns my preferences over time. Will update on whether or not this is the case.

Mat. L. Aug 25, 2019

I enjoyed the content for about 6 months, and then it became repetitive. Took a break and tried again, only to find the ads had been multiplying and also spawning click-bait idiocy at the bottom of each article. Still giving it 4 stars because the content is better than most. Bye Curiosity, don't get too greedy! I'll be getting my "nerd fix" with Blinkist now.

Can not log in at all. Tell me invalid log in credentials. Multiple attempts to resolve the issue have went no where. Last attempt was suppose to receive a reply and hopeful resolve the issue by Monday. This is Wednesday and no message back. I sent another message to them. No sense in having a subscription when I can't use the app to watch what I pay for.

I've had an amazing amazing experience with this app, but one fine day it suddenly decided to uninstall from the phone, and then after never could be installed back. It might be a device malfunction, but other apps working perfectly fine creates a bit of a confusion. All in all, this app has been one of the best and my only reason for rating it 2 is cause of the malfunction.

This app has been my favorite app for years. It's been my go to for nighttime reading. The articles are a great way to relax and learn at the same time. This app is unique and it's awful that Discovery considers shutting down the app and moving the articles to their website a good move. I won't go search the Discovery website for this. Part of what makes this app great is it's convenience and that it chooses 5 articles for you everyday. I hope Discovery reconsiders its actions.

Hen. W. Feb 16, 2019

I really like the concept of this, and the articles are brilliant, but the served up content on the home screen is nothing to do with the subjects I've 'followed'. Also, the most annoying thing is that the content doesn't update very often at all. There are loads of other providers that update content daily and I'll be using them in the future. It's a shame because this could be really good. I'll come back if they improve.
