CurrencyFair Money Transfer

I have sent money to my step daughter dozens of times using the web site. As soon as I use the app, it insists on editing her details before I can send anything. If I try to use the web site from my phone it keeps sending me to this stupid app. It does not work. Get rid of it. I just want to use the web site, but when I try to access I just get redirected to this USELESS app

super easy to use great fx rates. no silly adverts everytime I use it my trust in the app/service grow I can fault the app or the company under any point of view

For private users the button "transfer all", like on the website would be very handy. The app shows amount available and transfer fee, but the actual amount one can transfer AFTER fees is left for the user to calculate themselves. The interface could also do with being a bit more intuitive/ clearer. Under "transfers" the button "transfer out" isn't easily recognisable as a button. Renaming would also benefit to identify this is the button to make a payment.

Great app but constantly asks me to leave a review. I pay you for you service, stop asking me to do marketing for you.

Being a happy CF user since about 6 years, I thought I should give the app a shot as well. Appearance is similar to the web interface and therefore easy to understand. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an option for setting up custom exchange rates. Also pending exchanges with a custom rate (set up in the web interface) can't be modified. Both of it is a bit of a major to me since I rarely use the current exchange rates. Other than that, the app does a good job.

Great service. Horrible UI. I have multiple accounts in same currency, yet only the account number can be used to identify them. Can you please add a name or something to help identify. A better designed interface, and a quick way to send immediately to a new payee would make this as good as Transferwise's slick app.

Had high expectations for this app. But the most vital part of Currency Fair doesn't work properly. First there were some crazy predefinded values. Once I changed them they do not immediately refresh. Lastly I wasn't able to set my own exchange rate. Even if these functions are available, they were not easily reachable. Moving back to web version.

Love the app for booking a rate and waiting for it to match. Rates not always competitive e.g USD better elsewhere, but AUD good when all fees etc taken into consideration. Hopefully they'll improve USD as this is what I send the most. Extracting GBP not fee free unless you ask which can also be annoying. 5 stars if rates (particularly USD) improve and extracting GBP back to UK account becomes free and easy! No ads. Easy to use app

Update: ok, so customer service is always very good and now, as stated by them, they are back to using a USD customer account, which saves a transfer cost. Google authenticater does indeed make 2fa simpler - I hadn't realised it was available (not obvious unless you go looking for it). The only thing holding back the 5th star, is lack of marketplace access through the app. That would make perfection.

Pretty good once you get the hang of it. Initially it was a bit tricky because you get the minimum information. But I found if I set up transfers and recipients online using the website, then the app speeds up recurring pauments

Brilliant. I have multiple accounts in NZ, Aus, and UK. I use this to do all my international transfers. It's safe, reliable and cheaper than the mainstream banks. App is easy to use. I've been using them for 4 yrs without any complaints. Very helpful staff too.

Definitely a racist customer service team. Customer on boarding experience is on the negative I can't give a minus star. My white friends who use the app in exactly the same way I use it get no questions asked, while I have provided the same info over 4 times! My source of wealth (as they call it) including letters from my solicitor is not good enough. Is my cash black? Absolutely not especially when I ask for my cash back, that seems to do the trick. Transaction is completed within minutes.

This app is very very good. The more I use it the more I learn how i can better manage my conversions. There is a flat fee when I transfer to my account so it's not great for small amounts many times, but if you save them up and transfer out all at once it works very well.

My last transaction with currency fair was probably 12 months ago. Desktop pc and browser is s great. App gives user far less control. I'm using android. No option to set an exchange rate. Features described as 'send money in only' and 'top up' are described in Support Centre but don't actually exist. When contacted Support to ask about this they respond that those features only implemented for iPhone, unfortunately Android still under development. Less user control. App is big step backwards compared to using pc + browser.

They just take all the necessary documents to oppen an account and they would tell you that we do not provide you any services and wont tell you the reason. They save your documents and would use it (however, thay claim they keep it somewhere safe, which who knows what they do with it). Not recommended at all. Use transferwise app instead.

Have been using the company for years but update on 13/7/20 has made the app unusable and so I was unable to exchange when I wanted to and missed a better exchange rate. I am no longer able to top up funds or exchange. Have sent email to tech support already. ***Problems fixed now. Thanks***

Lacks functionality - for an exchange company not to show pending transaction exchange rate is pretty basic. Also should allow rate amendment and custom rate exchanges to be set up. I do like CurrencyFair services on the web just hoping for more integration of the app.

Great if you need to move money around or pay someone in foreign currency.

"unfortunately we can't accept your bank statement, use more traditional bank as Barclays, HSCB, Santender." Well, if i wanted to use more traditional ways of banking, i would not try your services in the first place. - fail.

The app has no customer service area, redirects to the website, which contains only FAQs. No service contact form or email whatsoever, let alone a phone number. If your money is stuck in transit, nobody to complain to or ask to investigate. Specifically for CHF deposits after changing the correspondent bank the service is a nightmare. I must add, that the waiting time in CHF has only gotten worse since my last comment. And no one at CurrenyFair customer service ever tried to contact me about.

Having called before transferring funds to exchange, I was specifically told, I am able to place funds on the market place, from my Android phone. To then find, this facility is STILL not available. I am now waiting a call back, from your team, to answer this question. I must ask WHY, you team are not fully trained & familiar with the system VERY DISSAPOINTING. Regards A Long Standing Customer.

They stole my money!!!! I tried using currencyfair to transfer money from my German bank account to y american, as I'm in the US for two semesters. After creating my account and transfering the money from my German account to the currencyfair account (13.000 €!!!), I got an email saying that my account was blocked because they don't operate in the US. I am trying to get my money back, but they refuse to send it to me! My bank contacted them directly, but they still refuse, saying legal reasons!!

Quick and easy to use.

I've negative experience and for me this looks like a scam and fraud so far: - Propose to register, upload documents (two identity and one utility bill) - provide details of transfer recipients. - After propose to make bank payment to they account In my case it stuck in "pending" for almost week with stupid additional questions of support. I've give up and ask to cancel my account and refund - - no problem answer support. Just provide some docs and answer some additional questions ...

I have already used other apps to transfer money abroad. I heard from a friend that currencyfair is good and if u open the account through referral and transfer more than 2000€ in one transaction, u and your friend gets 50 euro each. I did that- registered on currency fair through a friend's referral link & i transferred more than 2000€ And while transferring there was problem. And I took support from currency fair and finally I transferred. But now they refused to give referral 50€. Disgusting
