Custom AOD (Add images on Always On Display)

Great concept however, can't upgrade in order to take advantage of uploading your own photos to create your own AOD. The presets are outdated and aren't very appealing. In order to have a "half pixel" image created, they charge $0.99 a pop. Im wondering if this is optimized for Android 11 because it hangs and acts buggy. If it worked as advertised, I'd purchase it (tried but it wouldn't even let me buy it!!) and I'm sure it would be worth it. I'll check back and if things are fixed, I'll try.

I usually don't write reviews but this app was significantly irritating, you can only add a tiny sliver of an image without paying for the app (no, you can't adjust the proportions, at least not without paying), so basically anything taller than a penny is out of the question. To add insult to injury, once I finally made the picture small enough the app stuck it to the top border of the screen. I tried moving it but it wouldn't budge, so I gave up on that all together. Then, the clock is in this boring bold font and you can't change it, but you can select the font of random words and reminders, not helpful. I'd give it a lower score but I'm sure it works once you pay for it, annoying that it's advertisered as a free app but you can do barely anything without paying and I'd rather not encourage this kind of behavior.

This app works great on my phone, but does not work well with my phone. Before the update the AOD would time out when my phone was placed screen down, now it seems to stay on all the time. I like how it shuts down with my phones AOD scheduled on/ off times, just wish the app would not stay on the whole time my phone is wireless charging after the scheduled shut off time. It's an inconvenience to have to disable the app at night when charging and then turn it back on in the morning so I can use it

I was a little surprised to find this actually works on my Pixel. My significant other and I just bought the same phone and we're constantly mixing them up because they look identical. With this app, I can customize my always on display to add a small graphic. This allows us to differentiate our phones without picking them up all of the time.

I do like having the ability to add images to aod, and the ability to add your own for a fee is nice. I dont like navigating the app. I wish there were better categories or a search function. Searching for 10 minutes for a good one (and theres lots of mediocre mixed in) does get boing. EDIT:Changed to 1 star because I can't get it to work on Android 11.

It's pretty clear that there is no search function so that the user will be goaded into uploading their own, and then hit with a ridiculous image conversion fee, and a prime upgrade for what should have been free in the first place. This app offers nothing that isn't available through samsung already unless you're willing to pay. Dev should have split this into two versions instead of having this illusionist garbage pricing model that plagues the store.

I upgraded to prime on faith, and it doesn't work. Despite following directions and enabling accessibility and giving it time, the images never actually appeared. Complete waste of time and money and I would like a refund. Not sure of this is a scam, but run for hills on this app.

I had a Samsung s21 and no problems it worked great! Including the free ones! Now I'm using an LG into eight and I cannot get them to work? I'm not sure if it's the app or or it doesn't work on LG's or I didn't turn some permission on or something? Suggestions welcome!

What a useless download! Most everything won't work unless you pay. Even if it was free and everything worked it would still be one of the crappiest apps. So basic, plain and with nothing cool, exciting or the least bit special in any way. Looks like a program some kid made in school computer class. The only time this would've been considered a decent program of any kind would be about 1995.

Hi I really like this app. I'm a premium user but it would be great if I could scroll up and down to change the wallpapers because it's really annoying to press the back button every time to go back and change the wallpapers. Overall a very nice app.

As of the latest update it will NOT let you use custom images from your gallery any more. Apparently people were not able to follow the instructions on how to make half-pixel images (or didn't want to pay the developer $0.99 to do it for them) and complained about screen burn-in so it's been removed... I used the paid version of the app for over a year and it was a five star app for me because it did exactly what I wanted: allowed me to create custom AOD wallpapers and swap them around easily. I paid for the Prime option to support the developer even though I didn't want or use any of the pre-loaded images. Now that the one thing I used the app for has been removed, I've disabled it. I will watch the next few updates to see if the ability to use custom, self-made wallpapers is added back in but as of today this app has become useless to me.

So, I've bought a custom AOD based on my image and guess what - i can't use it without buying prime. That's not cool. At least it would be nice to know about this "feature" before the purchase. Update: It got fixed as developer mentioned. Pretty nice app. Update 2: Image, prepared by Custom AOD team (to prevent burning in) still burnt in my display after 3 weeks. Deleting it.

i like the app because it let's me customize the ambient display while still using the stock ambient display in the device, the idea is great but the app needs heck a lot of work, it looks like the developer decided to dump it and leave us hanging. it works on my pixel 3a

I'm so happy I found this app! It's brilliant! There are so many beautiful pictures to choose from to use on your Always On Display. Or, you can get your own photos converted to use on your AOD. Just got my first photo back, it's better than I imagined. I love it!! It's a great app and it works wonderfully. Keep up the great work!!

This is just another scam. It does not work, every time you click on something an add pops up. It literally doesn't let you do anything but watch ads and look through some pre-selected pictures you can not use.

Paid for the prime version ,then I bought new phone and prime was not available to me !! I contact the seller but keeps giving me not effective and valid feedback on how to get the prime back. Its been almost two weeks and still dont have the prime version. Very frustrated , gave me a promo code as it said but there is no way to use it ! The side bar is not recognizing me but there is no way as well to recognise me as a paid buyer !!

$3.49 for an app that doesn't work. I tried to put a full pic on my aod and only got a small sliver that I couldn't make bigger; plus a message saying it's best to apply two images; but it wouldn't let me. YouTube makes it look great, but for me it was a rip-off.

This app says free but it is not! For example, if you want to set a custom background you cannot! You must pay first before you can set the custom background of your choice! For me this is a bait and switch ploy and needs to be discontinued!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Until an update is released, I will keep my review at 3 star. Great app. I just wish it updated when updates come out. Edit: make sure you go to ♿, installed services and turn it back on if you updated to Android 11. Works like a charm.

It's a terrible absolute scam, saying it's free, having to pay for the service of halfpixelling your own image, and then not able to use it as your AOD. Doesn't not serve it's very purpose. Tried emailing the developers but no reply. Please do not download this buggy software. It should be shut down.

Seems nice but it won't actually allow you to use your own image without buying the prime. Not practical if you only need to make one or two designs. Free option is not as interesting.

I use to love this on my galaxy s8+. But now that I upgraded to the galaxy s10+ it doesn't work as good. the image will disappear after like 5 seconds. On the gs8+ it would always stay on. That's why I gave it four stars if they give it an update to fix it 4 the gs10+ it will get 5 *..

This was one of the best App for AOD but now after the update you can't se an image and I have tried every possible way to update the AOD image. Hence, I have to uninstall the app and rate it because now this app is useless.

It did work once. The second time I tried to change the picture it never applied it, then I lost the original AOD image on the screen.
