Google Now vs Google Web Search:
- Text searches default to Google web search
- Microphone Searches default to Google Now (Android 4.1+)

Custom Search Items:You can add a custom website's search by copying and pasting the results page URL into the custom field in CSBW.In Add>Search Item>Custom:
1. Copy the URL of the search results page from the site you want to add. For Example: http://www.imdb.com/find?q=cassablanca
2. Replace "cassablanca" with "%s" in the input field.The "%s" is a placeholder for the text you will enter into the CSBW search bar.
3. The URL you will add to CSBW Custom search item: http://www.imdb.com/find?q=%s

the app itself is okay but you're forced to watch a 30 seconds ads every single time you want to change something. if i have to spend more time watching ads than using the app to make customizations, then it's not very efficient (or fun) to use. 😐😑 edit: from 2 stars to 5 stars for the paid version without ads. i love the customization variations. 👍🏽
All good, worth the upgrade. Tiny issue is when show add button and show settings button are both turned off, it crashes, you gotta leave one of them on. I like it clean, but not a huge deal, still worth it. Edit: I'm an idiot, just making those 2 buttons transparent and leaving them turned on fixes everything. 5 stars!
Overall pretty good, better than the default. Just wish I could use Duckduckgo instead of Google for the search. Otherwise, works well with the new Firefox mobile, and has built in presets to match the themes I've purchased from the same developer, primarily Rad Pack Pro, which is pretty rad to the max. Totally bitchin'.
Good customisable search bar widget, used it to get a rounded corner minimalist search bar on my home screen. However, tried semi transparent white background with left icon turned off and the widget displays an opaque circle where the left icon would have been so had to scrap using background. Also feel that the search page should be more customisable - style of search widget can't be edited on this page, and it should be possible to turn the drawer feature off. Good, but room for improvements!
I use a customised launcher (Lawnchair) with this developer's 'The Grid' icon and wallpaper set. Originally i used the 'Sesame' plug-in to configure my search interface but recently tried CSBW. It has almost the same functionality but after a little bit of tweaking CSBW can be made to look even nicer than Sesame. (I should of guessed that it would, Nate's clean graphic style is always on point)
The default Google search bar popped up with pornhub as a suggestion by default with no way of removing it every time I searched something. This app fixes that and more. I love the feature to choose to search spotify or the play store easily right from the widget. Honestly a really nice widget, I'm glad I'm using it.
A bit basic. The app works well but has very limited customisation option's. The ability to change text colour would be good, maybe in a future update? Edit: I missed tge text colour option. Thanks Dev.
UPDATE: After clearing App Data & Cache I got it to stop crashing my Launcher. What's your PRIVACY POLICY? Menus aren't intuitive but was able to change theme & add DuckDuckGo as OPTION, but only sticks if I select "Remember Last Search" (takes away icon customization). Search bar's very slow, suggestions don't populate in time & autocorrect doesn't work. Not sure if Ads are slowing down functionality, or if it's b/c of UI, Theme, or need for pop-up menu. Need fix for slowdown before buying Pro.
Truly awesome once you figure out how to customize it... you get to its advanced settings by going to "Appearance" not the gear icon you would expect once inside inside its settngs menu...then you can customize EVERYTHING, including which voice tool to use: you can change between Google Now, Google, and Google Assistant (or even Bixby)... SUPER useful! and you can change it's appearance and it's widget size can be set to any length from 1 to 4 spaces on the homescreen. +Use Bing, DuckDuckGo, etc
Pretty amazing little app once you dive into the settings and get the hang of it. Works flawlessly and is infinitely customizable. I've come to expect nothing less from Nate Wren though. They've been putting out amazing stuff for years. Keep up the great work!
Every time I select the "Appearance" option, my phone freezes and then goes to black for several minutes before finally showing the Appearance menu. Please fix this issue. Also if you could add a slider for the length of drop shadows that would be great.
I got this simply because I'm trying to get my phone screen as dark as possible, while keeping my brightness up so I can see what I want to see at night without becoming blinded when I open my search function on my home screen. Absolutely stellar results for what I want. And because it opens in my chrome app, i dont lose my search if I use the bar for another question! Thank you for making the free version decently customizable and fully functional for searches.
The best Custom Search Bar! Dev is very responsive and open to suggestions. I wrote to ask for the ability to access CSBW through app short cuts. I wanted to be able to attach CSBW to my Gesture Bar and Jina App Drawer, so I didn't have to go back to my home screen every time I wanted to use CSBW. In a very short time the developer made it possible. Thank you for a great search app!
Exactly what I wanted. Many searches built-in, and ability to add new ones with custom icons. I wish the free version allowed more searches to be readily available, but that's why the paid version is there.
Almost perfect. The only thing that I wish I could change is the fact that I can't change what the default internet browser is. I use edge and it only opens to Samsung's internet app.
Was good. But now for the default search (in edit widget), if Chrome or any other app is selected the voice assistant doesn't work. Likely a bug & needs to be fixed in the next update.
Just bought it. 1. Managed to break it so that clicking Appearance had it hang every time. Had to clear Data and start over. 2. The fourth Widget look cuts off the left side of the microphone icon. 3. Why must I have a squared search bar and not one with rounded corners like the widget. 4. The background behind the icons (+, settings) stays black. It should follow the background color. 5. I have not yet managed to understand what the 'Drawer' is.
It's good, but even though you can modify the voice search icon, the voice search doesn't work? I selected to use Google Assistant for it but still when I click the icon it just launches chrome like the rest of the widget. Can this be fixed please
Very good tool. Made my home screen perfect and complements my Nova Launcher settings. Love that you can have a special drawer for apps, links, search terms. Well thought out app.
Upgraded to pro to find it quite buggy. Can't customise it how I want. App hasn't been updated in almost a year. Not a good outlook.
Great widget, love the color and size customization, and that you can color-customize the actual search bar that pops up as well. Very cool that it connects to your favorite browser. Worthy of the five stars.
Easy to use app that did exactly what I wanted it too, I. Love how you can customise the logo and microphone icons too. Do wish you could change the shape of the bar tho.
This is a perfect widget app, as someone who has been searching for something that's flexible and very customisable this ticks pretty much every box I need.

Usually make search bars in KWGT but was looking for something faster, this is great but the icons are to big and there is no setting to change its size, thanks for the reply upped to 4* 👍
Very good app, it would be 5 stars if the people who made this app were to add a way to make it so when you tap on the widget it takes you directly to chrome instead of to a custom search bar.
This does exactly what I wanted, I liked the look of the default google search bar widget but much prefer it to open it in my browser. Its perfect.
The app works, but I wish for an updated design. The current one looks outdated and can be confusing, but it works
Fantastic! After getting the hang of it, I now have a very subdued search bar on my home screen. So far, anything by Nate Wren is well worth having.
CSBW is a good app for customising a search bar. The customisation options aren't the most extensive, but it does provide a good experience if you are willing to mess around a bit. I have had a few problems: 1- I have found that the search function fails to find some of my apps. 2- Trying to cancel the search (touching outside area) closes the search but doesn't close the keyboard. 3- An option to search for the first suggestion when pressing enter. 4- An option to have text in the widget.
