A pretty useless app. Can't capture signatures, can't let customer pick receipt method. Can't customize view to show company logo or colors. I think the developers have given up on this app and POS in general. Hasn't been a significant update in 2 years. Company has 10k + employees btw. 52 billion dollar market cap. Can't program the most basic features that are availble in literally every other POS system on the market.
Can one actually use Customer View for tips? (You show that in the images of the app.) When we used it last, about a year ago, tips would not show up on CV. Since our establishment is on the lines of a cafe-cum-retail we accept tips for the staff. It was a confusing mess for the customers because they were faced with two screens. Besides the CV, they had to now also pay attention to the main screen where for the sake of tips we had to turn towards them during the course of the checkout. We had to ultimately drop the CV altogether. Now we turn the screen around and let the customer scroll through the items. It is super clunky and costs us a lot of time. It will be great if the CV can be made interactive during the checkout for the customer.
Constantly disconnects. Must "pair" with POS every single time it disconnects. It also displays item totals incorrectly. A customer view is, in my opinion, a necessity in a POS system. It's disappointing and frustrating that Shopify doesn't stand behind their products. Edit: Thanks for the update, Shopify. I can live with disconnects but I shouldn't have to go through the pairing process every time it does. I should only have to pair once regardless if the network momentarily disconnects.
Love the idea of the app. Was looking for something like this and you've delivered. Only one problem... It keeps disconnecting at random intervals. What it needs, in the case of disconnecting, is that the original POS app should keep/remember pair handshake with devices, in the same way bluetooth works so that you could just hit a "connect" button and resume whenever a customer comes in. Maybe add more welcome sceen customization, like a slideshow, wallpaper or background colours. But I love it.
We've continuous issues with this app since we installed it on two registers over a year ago. Continuous disconnects, difficulty scanning the barcode to reconnect, the dreaded "disconnected" message that can only be fixed by rebooting the register iPad AND the customer view tablet while we're in the middle of a busy sales day. And now this morning, a new twist: a complete inability to connect. Great concept, extremely poor execution.
Far from perfect. Update. Thank you customer service for reaching out. Please fix screen pinning bug. Screen pins to the option screen. Keeps disconnecting even when ipad and android tablet plugged in. Followed all online direction and running Android 10 with updated Ipad. Bugs need to be fixed. Also no option for customer to choose receipt email etc.
Guys, fix the disconnecting issue please. It keeps disconnecting every few minutes. Can't run a store like this. It is definitely not internet speed or the device. I have 1 GBPS internet and the top most expensive devices from Samsung and Apple. It is the app issue. It may show "Welcome to store.name" but doesn't reflect the items we add in cart. Please fix asapp
Could be nice but disconnect all the time. Also it would be very important to be able to show customer information (name, number, email, address ect) so client could confirm it is correct , and even better if it allows customer to enter his email by himself. Thanks
Continually disconnects and is VERY difficult to get to reconnect. We contacted Shopify before we invested in a tablet to run this app and they said it worked fine. Checkout at our POS is VERY confusing without a customer view of the transaction. Swinging the IPAD back and forth is not an acceptable option.
Horrible App. This app used to work somewhat before the latest update. But since the latest update it's been worse. Will not stay connected no matter what I do. I followed all Shopifys tips and it still disconnects. Not worth the trouble, just stay away!
New POS has ruined this... virtually impossible to connect now. Will probably switch to a new Moneris POS system as the only reason I paid was to keep Customer View. Wasted good money on a tablet - and its not internet strength that's the problem. Extremely difficult to get the QR code to scan. Great when it works for about three minutes.
I don't understand why it does not allow the customer to sign on the tablet. I have to have them sign off from the iPad. It's really an inconvenience. Developers Please prompt customer to sign on this device after debit/credit card payment is done instead of iPad!
I LOVE the idea. But, it requires wifi. I wish it had more options available to connect. Preferably, cellular.
The latest version 1.3.0 does not appear to allow for the customer to enter their email address or mobile nr for a receipt. It does allow for newsletter signup input on its home screen though. But the functionality to allow customer input is crucial.
Need a device that easily displays the pricing at the time of in store check out. Nothing is compatible with shopify other than this app and it not the proper pos set up that is professional in store experience. Please help and make something like the square register. please.
Great idea developed poorly! Shame on Shopify indeed! The app keeps disconnecting no matter what we do… We’ve reported this issue over 20 times to Shopify support, but it’s just a waste of time as they can’t help! THE APP DOESN’T WORK!
Doesn't show correct information on price and discounts when used with all new Shopify POS. Works fine with classic, but the point is for users to migrate to the new POS... so yeah...
No longer working after Shopify POS update. Customer service says this is a known glitch and did not give the impression that fixing it is a priority.
I am sorry Shopify, but considering the scale of your business the money you make and that POS and ecomerce admin are quite good apps, this is really terrible. Since this can influence customers experience a lot, this doesnt offer literally anything for it.😟 PLEASE DO: iOS support, fully customisable display. Where u can display any pictures or 3rd party apps. Considering u buy 150$ tablet ti dispaly what the actuall app can do it is really sad. Come on Shopify give it some big update PLEASE!
The new beta app doesnt connect. This app constantly disconnects. Not sure how such a big company with specific focuses can screw this up so badly.
Disconnects frequently and now it won't even pair since the pos update. You try and pair and it just says it's disconnected instantly
This thing is unusable. It disconnects every few minutes. Not only useless, but also a waste of time.

Why this app need me to connect every 10 minutes, I don't want to keep connecting and pairing for every costumer.
I am using cust view 1.3 and pos 6.47.0 and I do not see any options for guide your customer Through checkout (insert or swipe card) or select a receipt option in customer view. Am I missing something?
Keeps disconnecting and no easy button to reconnect I have e Uninstall and reinstall each time very frustrating

Great Concept but Buggy. The Customer View app crashes the Shopify POS when a customer is added during checkout. The only way to successfully restore and continue checking out, is to turn off the device that shows the customer view. That really defeats the purpose of the app if it has to be shut down during checkout. Hopefully this feedback is helpful for a future release update.
