CWGC War Graves
Simple to use, the CWGC War Graves app allows you to search for war graves at more than 23,000 locations, in 153 countries and makes it easy to find and visit these places of remembrance. From the mud of Belgian Flanders, to the scorched deserts of North Africa and the jungles of the Far East, those who died in the two world wars are buried and remembered at Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) cemeteries and memorials in almost every corner of the globe.
Use the 'Cemeteries Nearby' button or symbol to find war graves within five miles of your current location. The directions function will help you navigate to these places. To find a specific war grave site, use the 'Find a Cemetery' function. Disappointed. I have frequently used this app in the past, but these days, it seems, I have to provide permission for CWGC to access my location and my photo history in order to access information. Why? Come on CWGC: you're an excellent service where veterans can learn about veterans. Don't make this complicated or seemingly untrustworthy.
Complete waste of time! Search function does not work. Gives no info on the deceased as it does on the web page and keeps hanging when in use.
Poor. I'd love to see how it works. It's been downloading database for over and hour. I wanted to get involved and photograph the local graves to add to the site. Without the app it'll be harder. Come on CWGC get the app sorted. Looks like it could be a good app.
Needs work. On the plus side it shows the cemetery and how many, to improve things perhaps provide the link to show the individuals commemorated there rather than having to then come out of the app and do a cemetery search on your Web page. It's a pain.
App hangs on "updating database" and cannot use. Deleted and reinstalled - still the same. Don't waste your time! Just access via browser.
Tried to install. Just locked me after I said deny to it wanting access to my photos. Uninstalled it. Sorry was hoping this would allow me to check the conditions of local headstones.
Downloaded on an Android phone totally useless, cannot work or use anything? Come on CWGC you must be able to do better than this. Such a great organisation being let down by a very poor app.
The search function is utterly useless, even entering the name of the cemetery, the search cannot find it, total waste of time.
Map / route feature useless since the update. It WAS a fantastic app but has sadly regressed. Please fix.
I searched for 30 or 40 years before the internet came into existence then I had the Good Fortune to find this organization that solved the blown mystery all of my grandfather's name and where he was buried and the battle he died in and the medals he was awarded I don't know how they manage with all the millions and millions of servicemen and women around the globe and the ability to find them bless you greetings from my city Newton Massachusetts USA Cheers, Peter Woodcock🇬🇧🇺🇲
This app doesn't work, which is a shame. Didn't even get any options or notifications after downloading!
Why does this app require access to my photos etc on my phone?Seems it will not work at all if you do not allow access!!
Very basic info, no casualty lists or search facility, no cemetery plans that I could find. Peterborough in Northants? Outdated. Has potential but needs development.

Just downloaded and nothing is working, just stuck on opening screen. Will uninstall.
Don't waste your time, app is broken and won't open, big disappointment, I'd read the other reviews but thought I'd get lucky and it would work, no chance.
Never got past the "gathering information from the database" window. Shame as it looks like a good idea
The search cemetery doesn't even work. I can search nearby cemeteries but nothing else a very poor app.
No longer works. Such a shame ad found it very useful when lookimg up information at locsl cemeteries.
Disappointed. Very sparse information. Cemetery details just give the number of graves, but no details of the casualties, or am I missing something ? .
Keeps crashing..minimal info keeps directing you to main site.Uninstalling now..sorry.
Downloaded and opened. No problems with searching for cemeteries or cemeteries near me. Information on some is sparse but others contain useful information
Great app to use to find war Graves, as an EOHO volunteer, I use this prior to every inspection
Rubbish does not work on android front screen only ...must try harder ..dissapointed !
So much information. If you click on more details, there is original paperwork. Brilliant 👏 Plans of cemeteries. Listing. But you need to go to main CWG link and it's ALL there. Ignore the negative posts here.
This site is not programed to find our loved ones only to go shopping
Not very good. Can only search for cemeteries but can not search burial information or those killed.
Doesn't allow a search for an individual!
Very poor. Carl Liversage, head of external engagement for CWGC said that you'd be able to pinpoint a name in Thiepval, on a panel, read personal stories and discover interesting facts. That was in 2016. You can't do any of that.
Poor experience using this app on an Android phone. I gave up with my last phone. I have a new phone but still won't work. the app just says it's updating database, left it for over 30 minutes. Disappointed.
