I primarily do cycling classes. They are outstanding - well-paced and the cuing is very easy to follow. Workouts are challenging and I have seen greater improvement doing CardioCast cycling workouts than other workouts I have tried.
On a positive note, great tech. No glitches with my 7 day free trial. The idea of an all audio fitness app actually worked perfect for me because I really don't need to see visuals for the Spin classes I tried. I also liked the option of a beats based vs. rpm based class. The reason for my low rating however is I really couldn't get into the playlists with hiphop options. The music was outdated and just not motivating. I need consistent trap music spin classes, all post 2015 hiphop playlist!
Love this app! The music volume level and instructor volume level can be adjusted independently of each other so you can balance them to your preferences. Noel is my favorite instructor so far. I use this app at home. I like that I can take a spin class in privacy with my own set up and a fan! The calorie count at the end is not accurate since it really depends on the effort you put into your workout. You are better off using a fitness tracker if you want to know heart rate, calories, etc.
Great variety of workout styles and lengths. I've taken classes with almost all of the instructors and all are wonderful. I prefer the beats rides, as I don't have a "techy" bike. We tried CycleCast as an affordable option vs gym, and to accommodate our unpredictable work schedules, and it's been great. App needs a download option for people with poor connections. I typically start a workout and pause it to allow for spooling, which isn't ideal but seems to work fine most of the time.
Sometimes I can't make it to spin class (and now with covid19 spreading, all the classes here are cancelled) but I can still get an awesome workout with this app. Great prompts, very motivating, and good music, too. I like that you can control the volume of the instruction and music independently, and that you can pick workouts based on how much time you have.
My absolute favorite workout app. I like that there is no video to watch and it is all audio. That keeps me from getting distracted by the instructors in videos. I also love that you can turn the music and instructor volume up and down separate from each other. When spinning, I like my music loud and instructor barely audible so I can get into the music. They provide great incentives to get you working out more also.
Love this app and the different trainers so you can find one that fits your style. A couple of things that could make this app even better is to have the trainer's voices louder. even when i have their voice full volume, i still have to have the music level far too low to always hear them clearly. Update - love the addition of Rachel! She gives a great workout. Request - give us a full 30 minute workout, not 25. Today even the cool down was over at 29 minutes.
This app is exactly what I was looking for! The workouts in the app are almost exactly like attending a cycle class, except you dont have an instructor in front of you. Instead, they're coaching you from the app, giving you detailed instructions and motivation along the way. I have only done one so far, but the instructor was personable, and I enjoyed the music. Looking forward to more rides!
This is a great start, I like the beats-based sessions and the coaches really do a great job. I would like to see your coaches tracking wattage in addition to rpm. And it would be s great idea to have the target rpm and wattage appear on the screen for my reference during a ride. The app screen is a resource that you're not taking advantage of, relying entirely on the coach's communication skills to keep me from losing the thread.
I like the concept. You dont need a tablet or Apple TV for your work outs. Its simple, no video, only the Music and the Instructor's voice. It provides the basic elements needed to get a great work out. The instructors do a great job to get the music they choose to set your momentum and intensity for your work out. My only complaint. As good as a concept it is, it is still only a pod cast. Many gyms offer monthly memberships for $10 a month. I feel, that It should be less than a membership
A great idea, but in practice it didn't work well for me. All workouts are streamed on demand, which I am fine with at home with a solid wifi connection. However I had to stop my workout 6 separate times in 30 minutes due to buffering or misalignment of the instructor voice and music. I've never had internet issues with streaming anything at home (even workouts on the Peleton app). The workouts themselves are fine, just didn't work as well as I needed.
While I haven't tried a lot of subscription exercise apps, I am a huge fan of cardio cast. I love that it's audio based while so many others are video. I look at screens all day long it seems. Has been great to just move about and follow a program without being glued to a screen. So happy to see they expanded to a huge variety of activities.
Great app... I use it on the spin bike in my building gym, it really makes the time fly. It would be great if you had a little better selection for your workout, it picks a seemingly random one every time. Also incorporation of different machines (rower, elliptical) would be cool as well--just need to change the voice track, the beats are always good. I havent tried it yet, but I would like to see speed/cadence display from my wahoo sensors on the workout screen
Really like this app, but there's been some deceiving messaging from the app creators. Firstly, I never got a free trial, I got charged right away. Secondly, they keep saying that you'll have access to old workouts while there are new ones added. This is misleading. The app doesn't let you replay a workout ever, and it also only let's you view a handful of classes for each timer/teacher at a time, you have to do the workouts to view more than that. Love the workouts & app though!!
Absolutely awesome, worth every penny. I don't want to watch someone and lose focus on my form and focus on my work. Put the headphones on, listen to tunes and follow a great workout. This is exactly what i was looking for. The teachers are clear, precise and motivational. It really is like having a personal trainer work you through the run. I would choose this over a class with other people any day and it really has been great during covid. Thumbs up all the way around! Love it
Great app for indoor cyclists looking for a great workout without all the fancy bells and whistles (read: for those who do not have a Peloton or extra tech like sensors and aren't interested in spending anymore than they should!). Too bad capabilities like rewinding and choosing a past workout for consecutive days in a row, are tied to their music licensing. Trainers are encouraging and playlists are AWESOME! Best basic cardio app for your budget!
Love this app! It's so easy. I can control the coach's volume level and music and choose how long I want to do the activity for!! And even though I have to fight with myself sometimes to get on the spin bike... Which I use at the gym, I don't have to commit to stay on for a long time. I'm enjoying John Carlucci with his beats and inspiration to keep moving. And recently decided its nice to have someone talking to me with great music while running/walking errands outdoors.
Love this app so much. I've tried about half the coaches so far and they're all great and the music has been good too. i really like that i can adjust the coach and the music volume independently. There a couple things i wish they had: 1) a tiny bit of customization (like, beginner vs advanced or pop vs hip hop) 2) ability to skip to cool down or ability to scrub through. 3) ability to download
I've been using this app for a couple of months and I love it! There are different instructors to choose from, each with a new workout every day. The workouts are fun and have a variety of good music. The instructors communicate well and are good motivators. I love the beats ride intervals, really gets my heart pumping and sweat pouring! I was a little skeptical at first, but I am so glad I joined. My own workouts were nowhere near as good as what I get from Cycle Cast. Great app!
After finally getting a comfortable saddle for our bike (not a proper stationary bike, but a road bike on one of those roller kits) I went looking for apps to help me and my husband get going on our fitness goals - I found CardioCast and signed up. I really enjoyed my first few sessions in the free trial and decided to see what a month could offer. The instructor styles are varied, the music choices are interesting, and the encouragement you receive is excellent. I've only completed a few workouts now, but my husband is thoroughly enjoying it! I was a little bummed you can't go back and repeat an older workout, as sometimes the music is what gets you through it, but you just have to keep moving forward (while in place!) right?
Love this app...The coaches are super supportive and I love the music, even for songs that I would never choose to listen to on my own. However I wish there was a weight training program that uses free weights and exercises for a home setting. The body weight training is a good workout, but to me it's harder and I'm less likely to do it.
I really love the app. Makes me want to get up and workout in the morning. Lots of different instructors with varying music styles. Only suggestion I have is to allow me to cycle through an instructor's workouts to find the music I want rather than just giving me one choice per workout length. Overall would highly recommend.
There's a lot of things i really enjoy about this app. The variety of trainers, the varying lengths of classes, and the ability to adjust song and trainer voice volumes separately. If they could add the suggested RPMs on the screen under the time possibly it would be 5 stars from me. I totally zone out a lot and miss a few trainer cues so it would be great if I could juat check the screen and see where I should be.
**The Good: lots of workout variety, inexpensive, easy to use, and convenient. You can workout at home or bring to the hotel gym if you're traveling. **The Not So Good: doesn't sync with bike sensors (I have to switch between two apps to see my cadence/speed and workout progress), doesn't save past workouts, only syncs with Google Fit (I'd love to see support for Garmin or MyFitnessPal), doesn't pause/save workouts when app crashes or you lose wifi signal, no mileage/kcals until the end.
This app is the best thing out there...the only thing if you are a rogue spin cyclist. I love it...just you and the teacher. The music is excellent and i use it at least 4x per week for 60 mins a day and i have never had a duplicate ride. Worth every penny...support these guys! Sometimes the app is buggy but overall i am going to stay with. It is life changing!
Great ap, all audio. Which is fine. They also give you a lot of tips and places for more information. I would say if you have never taken a spin class to go brush up on terminology (jumps, rpms ect). If you have taken classes (I did orange theory with the bike for cardio) then you will be fine with the terms and know how your body feels. I like that they have different lengths and styles. Great coaches.
I never know what I'm doing when I try to work out so I just end up unmotivated and end up quitting early. I love cyclecast because it's like a spin class without the price that I can do on my own time. The instructors are all great (I personally love Nöel) and the playlists are usually pretty awesome.
I have a stationary bike at home. I tried this app because I want a challenging at home workout. This app fits the bill. I'm just finishing my trial period and I've taken 6 classes. I plan on signing up for the annual membership. Most spin studios charge $15-20 per class where I live. At those rates, the Cyclecast membership has already paid for itself. I love that there are new classes posted weekly, so I shouldn't get bored. I don't want to take the same class over and over. I do wish that the app logged your rides. I find it motivating to see my history. Even just a simple thing like teacher's name, the date, and the class length.
Have been using this app for a few months now, and LOVE IT! Love the flexibility to ride on my own schedule, whenever I want, and there is enough variability in theninstructors that I haven't ever done the same ride twice. Really like the beats ride and classic ride options!! Would highly recommend!
I bought a cheap spin bike on Facebook marketplace and have been using cardiocast for the past 2 months to complete my workouts. I was nervous about not having videos, but it is easy to understand the instructors cues and refreshing to not be staring at a screen! The instructors are encouraging without being over the top, the rides are interesting from start to finish, and the music compliments each ride perfectly. I cannot say enough good things about this app.
