Horrible glitchy mess that constantly reports errors when you dock and attempt to unlock the same bike a second time. Countless instances of having to walk to another station because the app decided not to recognize the same barcode I scanned 25 minutes ago.
WORST APP EVER 1) incredibly slow (takes between 5 and 10 minutes to get an unlock-code) QR code reading is choppy at best. So you're left standing at the station, praying. 2) insanely unreliable, just resets halfway through the (painfully slow) process 3) the update on April 8 was forced, now it completely refuses to work (still says "App is out of date for your city"). Since it's the only way to get a bike in Toronto, you're just f**ed. What the hell Very poor choice by Bikeshare Toronto, too
Awful, broken app that barely functions at all. Perhaps before the City of Toronto ripped up the Bloor/Danforth they should have noticed the overwhelmingly negative reviews on this useless piece of garbage app. We wasted our money and our time and I will get neither of those back. These reviews are accurate, this app is absolute trash. Zero stars if possible.
What is wrong with this app?? Keeps saying the app is out of date for the selected city!!! I have been using this app and it worked well. But now it doesn't make sense!!! Now i have freeze in -10C outside just because i was trusting this app!!!
Terrible. Terrible customer service. Customer seevice was the Worst ever in my experience. Bike doesnt unlock on scan easily through the app, need to type in the code everytime.
Very slow, often fails, leaving you stuck, unable to take out a bike! Given the technology available this is poor.
Laggy and frustrating to use. At the moment I can't use it at all because it says I need to update even though auto update is enabled on the play store (and I'm not seeing any option to update now from the play store).
Horrible experience, won't let me log in, then when it does completely frozen. This needs to be updated very badly.
In Toronto it just will not let me log in, says it's out of date but the app is the latest version, I even reinstalled it and it still won't work
It is incredibly unresponsive, took 10 mins to get a bike. Nothing happens when you press on the buttons
Terrible experience. Unreliable and updating is not taken care of properly. Would not use it if I had another choice
I keep getting the message that I need to update the app but despite installing the latest update, I still cannot connect.
Can't update app and can't use the bike share as a result! Will not let me scan. Horrible experience
In these modern times where we use hundreds of apps and websites all requiring passwords why would this app not have biometric verification. If you've forgotten your password there is no clear way to update it .Incredibly frustrating when you have forgotten your password
I was very concerned by all the negative reviews. I guess it depends on the bike network you use. Here in Toronto, I have used the app for 3 month now without any problem. Sometimes the station map is not well updated and you find out that the station is full/empty but in overall it works great. The unlocking process is easy with the QR code, or even with the 6-digits codes. The app also recently underwent a nice UI update. I used it without any subscription first and was able to unlock two bikes for myself and my partner, and now I use it with the annual subscription.
This needs a UX overhaul. It's frustrating to click on a dock, and decide to back out - only to find that using the back gesture exits the app. Also crazy is not being able to make an account in the app (w/out a subscription). There have been times when I have thought about jumping on the system but would rather not try and figure out the kiosk/get out my credit card. I'm sure that's a back-end issue but setting up in advance would make trying this out easier. Also the dock icons need work.
Terrible app and terrible experience! . I could not get the app (kept getting error when entering cc) to work so I paid at the kiosk, used it for 15 minutes then had to dock the bike because I would have gone over before reaching the next station. But then the next station did not have a credit card reader and the app still would not work so I had to call customer service and they were useless. I ended up asking for a refund. Really frustrated and I would definitely not use this service again.
This app is frustrating right from the word go. I have been struggling to signup because the form keeps reporting an "invalid entry, please update " but does not highlight what the invalid entry is. I dont know who designed an app that says there is a problem but doesnt highlight the problem. I've tried different permutations of everything and different cards. Just nonsensical design
This app has a lot of improvement points. There is a lack of user experience, you click in something and you don't know if you have clicked or not, because it is slow and no action showing your click. I gave up to scan the QR code and tried to input the bike number, but the keyboard do input the number did not show up. Also I bought a single pass and had to buy it again because the app said I had not. One of the worst apps I have ever seen.
Reading all those negative comments, I was hesitant to use the app. But after a month, it still works flawlessly. The map shows me where to get a bike, buying a pass and unlocking with qr code is fast and easy and dropping it off was no problem as well. Occasionally, I had a bike with slipping gears and some stations in my area often run low on bikes. However, they seem to be restocked regularly, so I always got one. What I miss is the app showing how long my pass is valid. Great service.
Can't buy a plan, order flow broken. App is broken completely. Station I was at also had broken touch screen
Does not work. Map does not load, which crashes the app in a few seconds after opening.
Absolutely terrible service, worked perfectly the first time but the second time the service completely crapped out. Unable to unlock a bike through all methods, including in person at the kiosk. 30 minutes is also much too short for a trip. Good idea, but terribly implemented.
Huge step down from the previous Transit app for Bike Share Toronto. Slowly boots up enough to zoom in to... the last place you used the app. (Why do I need that?? Clearly I'm no longer near the last place I used it, since the whole point of the app was to get out a bike to take me somewhere else!) Slow & clunky, the maps have been incorrect multiple times, and occasionally it just doesn't work and you can't take a bike out at all. Not a good gamble if you rely on it to commute! Disappointed.
Edit: I contacted the customer service and they confirmed they are processing the refund. However, I spent half an hour struggling with the application and the locked bikes! Terrible thing. I wasted half an hour and 7 dollar to unlock two bikes and nothing happend. The ATM was out of service. Application was unable to scan the QR code or accept manually entered number. Never recommend it or recommend it to someone you hate.
