CYOA Factory

Great app!, This is a pretty advanced and feature packed app, but my main gripe I have about it is the UI. Don't know if I'm the only one but the UI in my opinion is clunky, ugly, and complicated and overall is a huge turnoff. This app is amazing but I just cant get around how bad the UI is. Are there any plans to update the UI to maybe make it a bit easier to use and look better? P.S please take no offense to this just my opinion, you have made a great app regardless.

I would definitely recommend this for others. It's so easy to use but I would definitely recommend having cookbook or something, there are still something that aren't thoroughly explained like creating characters, how different variebles affect it. I am struggling creating a favorability counter for each character and how fighting works in this.

GREAT APP but one problem I can't save my story's. Maybe it's me missing something but none of my story's save. Kinda wired so hope the dev team can fix that but still good

This is probably the most easiest CYOA creator that i've ever use and it keeps getting better with a little bit of experimenting. EDIT: Thanks for fixing that bug now I can use the new version.

The app was great, but useless as it wouldn't save anything I did in it, whether into storage, onto the cloud, etc. The best I could manage was getting it to export to drive, then download onto my phone to unzip, select the json file to import as a backup (didn't work, just got kicked back to the creation tab with an apparently still empty library). It wouldn't even save profile changes. This being the latest build. I'll try PC to see if it's more stable and won't cost me hours of writing.

App won't save story drafts or author changes. Very good app but need the devs to see this.

The app is in my opinion simple and well-designed to use once you've learned the basics and even better when you're familiar with all the features it offers. Though, there are still certain bugs if your story becomes too complex (but only superficial bugs like sound and font issues for example, and not anything actually story-breaking, from what I've encountered) and attempting to play other people's stories can be somewhat frustrating at times, but that is mostly it. Overall, very good.

Great app with great potential. I had to do some experimentation to figure out some issues. I thought my first scene was replaced, because every time I went back to read it would be on scene 4-5. I realized that when you select read, it continues where you left off. It should start from scene 1 from read to prevent confusion, with another option to jump to specific scenes for troubleshooting.

This app is pretty simple to use. I've been trying it out for the past few days. When reading your own story, the game tends to lag when background and character images are added. Maybe it's just my phone? Also, reading your story after initially reading a little and then going back to edit will remove all assets and you have to reset the story to actually see/hear them. The web version is a plus, makes it easier to do stuff! Cool app!

Not only a fantastic idea for an app, but the execution is mostly fantastic too. Any issues you do have, the creators are more than happy to sort out any issues for you or process bug reports. Annoying, yes, but bugs are a normal thing when dealing with an app this specialist and, for a very small indie team, you gotta give them credit for what they've achieved already. It's definitely a work in progress, but what works, works and there really is nothing else like this on the app store. A+!

This app works well for making CYOAs. The system of choices uses "tags" to allow or restrict choices, although you can't restrict a choice to when a player doesn't have a tag. New tags don't save when leaving the scene editing screen, unless you create a new "text" or "choice" element before leaving the screen (possibly other elements as well). If I were to suggest a feature, it would be to add statistics for the player. All in all, great app, works well, keep up the good work!

My project disappeared! I've loved this app so far, though (maybe cause I had a different bg for each screen of text) it sometimes crashes when loading different scenes to edit, and it's slow to load my WIP on the main page when I log in (at first only showing me the option to create a new one). My work was always saved so nothing was lost each time, but just today I can't see it at all. Please tell me it can be restored, I hadn't backed it up on my end!

I wanted to give it an honest review for improvement. Input button: should have sentance and name storage for more interaction. ( People could create amazing stories and games within App.) Choice button: should create multiple choices instead of one at a time and doesn't show at the same time when you have more than one. ( Creater customization) I like you have a battle option. I'm just not sure the way it's made makes sense. I have not tested it yet. I know it's beta as well.

Pretty good so far, only complaint is that when I demo my story the music doesn't stop unless I exit the app. Even when I leave the demo mode and re-enter it will have the audio playing over itself. Edit: I really do enjoy this app, it works rather well. I do have one suggestion, perhaps when you are choosing your character state, it shows what you titled it? That way you can easily tell which state you're selecting.

let me just tell you right now... it will be very, VERY confusing at first. but thats what happens when you have games like this, they can go in all sorts of directions and spiral into different ending, much like TWD or Detroit Become Human. once you get used to what goes where and how to make this choice impact the future its really great. i really reccomend this.

PLEASE HELP I like the idea of this app but im getting very frustrated using it. I cannot find out how to add scenes to a story!There should be a help section or something. Oh also the tutorial circles the wrong buttons while saying what they do it was circling audio clips but said "this is where to upload images of characters" That didn't bother me much but it could be improved.

Great concept so far. As a few others have said it's a bit confusing in the beginning. That's to be expected with anything new. It's like riding a bike, over time you get better. I find this much easier than using vs code an making it from scratch. I'm crappy when it comes to coding. Only thing I keep having issues with is when my text I'm typing runs to long and it always hides behind my keyboard. Even if I scroll to the point I'm typing at it instantly jumps back to the top an hiding input.

Would be a much higher rating if there was a reliable way to control where you are. By this, I mean that it is INCREDIBLY difficult to get to a specific scene you want to write in. It always sends you to the most recently made one, and trying to figure out a way back is just tiresome. Please make some sort of menu where you can choose the direct scene or act you want to modify.

Though I think It's amazing, there are a few bugs that need to be fixed. One of them is the fact that I cannot scroll down when I am in the library and I'm finding a story to read. I can't get past the Public Stories BETA. The other one is when I tried to make a new character, the screen turns grey and I have to go back and press the new character button again, then it works. Other than that, this is great!

THIS IS A HELLA COOL APP but I have a suggestion to make it better; I would love to have a horizontal option for my stories. I have a lot of horizontal shots but this is a true vertical app. Also, a way to resize my sprites. Why are they so small?? I might just be dumb, but if you have a way to fix it, please let me know!! Other than that, I think this app is AWESOME if you're a total beginner like me!!

While the mechanics seem pretty easy to learn, the one downside is the lack of a diverse community at this stage of development. It feels very limiting if you want a variety of enjoyable content to read from, and can be discouraging when you work hard on a scenario that no one will end up reading. I see great potential with it, but right now I can't really enjoy myself.

It's a pretty cool game. You get to make a story and you can upload your own character design as well. It's also easy to control. One thing I wish to be added is an option to put the character in either left or right of the screen. I tried choosing from the left or right thing in the settings of each char but it always stays on the left side. I have other issues but for now this is what I wish to be added. Is there a browser ver? Thanks!

App is amazing, but it lags on my phone. Whenever I add something to the story I am making, the app seems to stop and the rest of its screen will just turn out white. I'm using an android 7 phone. Please fix these issues. This app shows promise. Will download it again if the problems are fixed, and will change the rating to 5 if it will work well on my phone.

This is a lot better than I expected! It's a really good app in my opinion. I just have 1 thing. A suggestion. Are you able to make it so that if the player types a certain thing it activates a secret line of text? Like if you choose the name of the person creating the story there's a piece of text that says a custom phrase, and then the story continues? Sorry if it's too much to ask, or if it's too confusing, thank you!

I was having so much fun that I found game where I could make a text adventure but then a bug came that says empty And now I can't get past it. I've deleted the scenes and wrote it all over again but I just can't get past that bug. it won't let me read the rest of the scenes that I created. I reported it and theres still no response. Just please fix it. I just want to create a text adventure.

It has proven to be an extraordinary app except for one issue I ran into. I only am stating this so that it doesn't inconvenience future users. At random moments it kicks me from the story I was currently writing and says I have not written any stories even though I was clearly just working on one. After a few moments sometimes it reappears and I can continue writing. Other times I must fully close the app and reopen it to see my story there again and I fear one day it wont appear.

Ummm... the idea is good. Its what I have searched for for years after being indulged in CYOA games. I gave three stars because of its interface. The Interface isnt that much nice and when the scene is too long, It overlaps with the choices. That cause me to make a choice 'Continue' every part. so please, fix that part. Also, I cant log in. Or maybe. I cant sign up?

Best CYOA text maker ever made, I hope they will make a publish to APK so I can share my CYOA text game as an installed game, and so I can share it to my friends! Waiting on the next update!

I downloaded this a long time ago and would have given it five stars. I have a story I spent weeks on and was very proud of how it was going, until I restarted the app today after my audio file wasn't loading. All of my stories were deleted for some reason. I tried to recover them with a code but never got an email back. Please fix this if you can.
