Nation Media group is a big company, and it is losing out a lot due to a buggy app. At one time I couldn't read the paper I had bought using mpesa, it couldn't reflect the payment. I uninstalled and waited. NOW, I cant even read the papers, the paper opens and immediately exits. I think a change in the design team will help. Redesign the app to get more subscriptions.
Thanks God I lost 39 bob only. Please check on the following issues: 1. Pages dont download just the titles. 2. Downloads are getting stuck at Queued and 0% thereof 3. I don't know if it is the pages that are so large but they take forever to download a single page -- the first page only.
This new app for epaper is horrible, it has not been working for me since it was last updated, i prefer old version which was working well for me, i have now wasted one month subscription since i am unable to read the paper online, the epaper takes the whole day to download. after downloading the epaper cannot zoom out for me to read clearly . this is bad experience, please revert to old version
Had the most difficult time trying to download the epaper through the application, already paid 50ksh but after clicking on download it takes me to the subscription page, when I click on subscribe, it takes me to the login webpage which doesn't recognize any of my credentials..I think there's something wrong with the subscription login web page, please check that. Interface is good even though I didn't get to enjoy the main functionality of the application
Would 1000% NOT recommend. 99% of the time you get a blurry newspaper that you cannot read, which defeats the purpose of having a digital copy. Plus downloading on the app does not enable you to keep on phone like in pdf, who knows why. Uninstalling this mess once my subscription is up tomorrow.
The 'download' does not put an offline copy in your phone memory, meaning it's expensive to use the app as you've to be always online. It's slow and hangs. The new reader is a distraction which you can't disable. The app has deteriorated...๐
Absolute Disgrace. Simple doesnt work. You can download the paper but you cant zoom into any article to read it. So if all you want is to read the headlines, go ahead. Otherwise save your money. I demand a refund of 1 months subscription.
Pathetic, very slow time wasting app even with excellent internet connection. You will wait atleast two minutes for one page appear. Daily Nation can be better than this. Not renewing my subscribtion. This is the second time I will be cancelling after I did so last year. No improvement.
Successfully paid for 18th May 2020 edition via mpesa and got email confirmation of payment. However, when i tried to read the paper, it wont allow me and directed me to the subscription page again. Something appears very wrong with the logic of the app. Gave up and nowadays buy the Standard epaper whose subscription process works way better.
App takes up over 1gb of internal storage after downloading only one edition of the e-paper, text is blurred out, takes forever to move from one page to the next even after downloading the paper and now the app keeps crashing everytime I open it... What is ?
This new modification to the app is a disaster; most days you can't access the articles even using the link option. It was a bad idea to attempt to modify an app that was working very well; give us the old version back
The apps interface is good,but I have objection with the subscription. First, you shouldn't be harassing a user by directing them to a browser to subscribe. All subscriptions should be taken care of within the app. Second, you should consider adding daily subscription available. Users shouldn't be forced with the least 3-day subscription. I mostly get so busy that I only get chance to read newspaper on Saturday, and maybe Sunday. You won't expect that I pay for what I won't use!
Terribly frustrating. Some pages are just blurred. Tapping the article title to read the story only works with the current edition! Can't read yesterday's paper blurred pages!
The app will not let me log in. I can log in on the website but the app says that my username and password (the same one I'm using on the website) are invalid. Absolute waste of space and data. Do not install.
So, it looks nice. Good contrast and design. The payment method is a bit twisted, hard to understand what to do after you are done paying because of the redirect to the browser. Download is slow.
Most of the pages are not clear, especially those pages which contains colourful advertisements. Only the advertisements get displayed nicely but all the text and news items are smudged. Wondering whether subscription is a waste
There's no point in having the epaper with 60% pages blurred! Doesn't open up content even after making the necessary payments. Keeps on loading for a surprisingly long time. Could go for eternity trying to load a page. What a waste!!!!
Some pages are clear while others are blurred. Taping the headline or the story doesn't help. Otherwise the app is good to go but please take care of the blurred pages.
the paper does not open neother does it download. a total waste oc time. the paper just goes to que and when you click read now it just goes back to the main menu.
There are so many users complaining about the blurred articles, I understand you want us to click or tap on the title. But honestly this is 2020. You are media company. Why can't you sort the problem once for all... My guess is you don't grasp potential this app has, therefore, you ruin experience of your new customers. E-paper is the future, hard copies distribution will come to inevitable fate. Kindly, sort the app don't ask people who've paid to call for help yet you know the issues.
Useless App from a reputable Media House! You can't read the news. Blurred words (I was told it's Nation's company policy for such). Takes time to download the content. Nation Media should improve on this app and change this company policy that says they give us blurred images on an item that we spent money on that goes to waste!
This app always has faults. Currently cannot open today's paper. Yesterday, the fonts were out of focus.... the list goes on.
Why Should I pay to get blurry pages? Clicking on the article to popup just creates a bad user experience. You had the opportunity to capture a new customer base but you are bottling it with this horrible customer experience.
the app doesn't work. it lets you log in and subscribe but once you have downloaded the paper, you can't even read it. IMPROVE!!
Kindly update the supplements and the daily papers on the app, some supplements have not been posted on the app for months now. The weekend papers are also unavailable on the app
Most copies are blurred and you cannot read. Now for a few last days, I could not open the e-paper, keeps ask for a sign in and rejects my password till my subscription ended. I want to renew, iam told the server does not recognize me?????.
Dear Nation Media, After registering and paying for this service, I cannot see the subsequent pages beyond the headlines. All is blury. And I also would like to access it via my deskstop but am not able to do. Kindly fix it or refund the Kshs 500/-
I paid 100/= to read for three days but words are blurred. Then I downloaded the paper in the hope of reading it afterwards but was shocked to realise that without internet it doesn't work. It is useless app.
This current version of the app beats the purpose of subscribing to an epaper. An ePaper should have the look and feel of the hard copy paper. Having the articles on the ePaper blurred, so that we are forced to click on the article, so that we read on a pop-up window is not a good experience. Customer Support in non-existence. No replies to my emails.
