I recently switched from iPhone, where I used this app, to Android. On iPhone if you chose to read the Wikipedia entry about the country of the day or the denomination, there was a separate back button on the app that would return you to the Day's prayer page. But on Android there is no such back button, you have to use the phone's back button, and that takes you all the way to the homepage of the app. You have to choose the date again and start at the top all over again. This might not be so bad, but scrolling in this app has a bad bounce, so that if you scroll too quickly it seems to hit bottom and bounce back up to where you started. So you have to scroll very slowly, which is annoying since if you made it to hte prayers for countries and denominations you are already more than halfway through the days readings!
It's a little better than the previous Mission St. Claire ("Daily Office") app by Rev Richardson. It certainly looks less terrible. They've added Noonday and Compline, which is nice. However, the English and Spanish are intermixed, which is disorienting. I'd think that you could separate them by columns and things would make a lot of sense. Yesterday/Tomorrow buttons are bigger, which means they can now be used by people whose fingers are larger than pencil tips; that's a plus. The text wrapping is still a little over-conservative. Switching between portrait and landscape still re-freshes the entire page instead of just reflowing, which resets your position in the page to the top. Definitely an app to disable auto-rotate for. ---- Content is (usually) great, although sometimes someone is over zealous with the you->thou auto-replace in the Psalms and we read about "thoung lions". ---- I just noticed the screenshots. I guess they're for the tablet? They look much better than what you get on the phone.
Loved the app, but after a bit of use the app would not load. I would have to restart my phone for the app to work again. I hope this issue can be resolved.
Would be better with a lighter and quieter background text is hard to read in some places on on the scrolling screen.
App when scrolling goes jerking motion. Some prayers could be paired down.
An even more convenient way to enjoy the wonderful Mission St Clare website's content.
When I say my daily prayers, I will use this app 85% of the time.neasy t o use and complete
I used to be wary of using prayer books, but now I am sold! We all are one in Christ after all. Praise the Lord for that!
Thanks for all the work you have put into this.
Tried a few daily office apps but find this the easiest to use.
Much better. But it looks much, much better on my tablet. Cleaner and easier to read.
Everything you need for your prayer time!
I like the simplicity of having ready access to the daily prayers.
The best way to pray morning and evening prayer online!
Thank you!
Lectionary followed daily prayer
Better than the previous version. Still Love being able not carry my pray book. Will you ever include the lesser feast and fast readings & psalms. My church uses them for evening pray during lent.
I would like to see a Table of Contents as on the website. And the font is a bit small. Well done though on a great app!
I actually loved this the one and only time I was able to get into it! Now it just sits there when I try to open it, and I can't even back out...I have to hit the Home icon on my phone. Maybe someday the bugs will be fixed so I'll uninstall for now and add it to my wishlist. Bummed.
