Daily Readings for Catholics
The missal is a liturgical book containing all instructions and texts necessary for the celebration of Mass throughout the year. Before the compilation of such books, several books were used when celebrating Mass. These included the Gradual (texts mainly from the Psalms, with musical notes added), the Evangelary or Gospel Book, the Epistolary with texts from other parts of the New Testament, mainly the Epistles (letters) of Saint Paul, and the Sacramentary with the prayers that the priest himself said. In late mediaeval times, when it had become common in the West for priests to say Mass without the assistance of a choir and other ministers, these books began to be combined into a "Mass book" (missale in Latin), for the priest's use alone. This led to the appearance of the missale plenum ("full or complete missal"), which contained all the texts of the Mass, but without the music of the choir parts. Indications of the rubrics to be followed were also added.
The Roman Missal (Missale Romanum) published by Pope St. Pius V in 1570 eventually replaced the widespread use of different missal traditions by different parts of the church, such as those of Troyes, Sarum (Salisbury), and others. Many episcopal sees had in addition some local prayers and feast days.
The term "missal" is also used for books intended for use not by the priest but by others assisting at Mass. These books are sometimes referred to as "hand missals" or "missalettes", while the term "altar missal" is sometimes used to distinguish the missal for the priest's use from them. Usually they omit or severely abbreviate the rubrical portions and Mass texts for other than the regular yearly celebrations, but include the Scripture readings.

I am happy to have discovered this app when I was looking for daily Mass readings. it's an excellent app for daily Mass goers. The reflections and a write up on the life of the Saints of the day is an added feature which I have not seen in other apps of it's kind. Blessings on all those who have worked on making this app so useful and one that is handy for daily reading. Appropriate for preparing for daily Mass. God Bless
With regard to the issue of the app not updating correctly you do not have to deinstall and reinstall. A quick workaround is to go to app settings and delete the cache. When you then open app it will have the correct date
Okay has notvupdated since 23 January 2021...??? (This gives you the full set of readings for the day's Mass, including the psalm. There is also an often interesting commentary/ meditation. In addition there will be a life of the day's saint. Great way to start the day. Low software overhead -- it worked great on my old 2012 phone.)
I like the commentaries after the readings. the only thing to criticize is the placement of the scripture notation. It was above/before the reading, now it sometimes skips to the end of the readings for psalm and gospel. I appreciate this app.
Cannot choose particular days. Doesn't synch with the current date. Huge ad space that is very distracting.
Many thanks for putting the dairy Readings in the cell phones one can read at any time or has no Bible at all,by this we are helped. May you be rewarded for that by the almighty.
Refections provided in this app are very helpful in my spiritual growth. Bonus read about the lives of saints is inspiring. I just wish there's an offline version of the appπ

Very basic and no frills...just what I was looking for! Just the daily readings and a bit about the saint of the day.
I really like this app.during this Pandemic because I used to be able to pick up a missalet at church and find the today's reading's and this is perfect thank you very much!!

its okay, because the language is simple.The only improvement you can do is to number the the psalm and write the psalm response in bold ink.
Right to the correct date and very easy to read. I am a Lector and this is perfect!
It's wonderful, easy to share. Easy to understand. But I read from Kenya and it gives me the previous days Readings. Like today is Sunday in Kenya but it gives me sututday's readings. How can I receive exact readings for the day. Thank you.
Easy to read and I enjoy the format all it needs is the Responsorial Psalm. Then I would rate it 5 π π π π π.

I would have given 5 stars but once opened it stays on that date. You have to u ninstall & reinstall to update to the current date
There are no distracting or flashing ads to distract you from your purpose.
If Readings are just put up and then the passage and explanation will make it more simple

The app captures the daily readings of the mass. I have found the commentaries and documentation of the saints a spiritual enlightment. A disadvantage of the app is the need to refresh continuously from the start while reading the text.
