Can't really connect to the thermostats easily, because you either have to wait up to a minute or so until it connects, or walk to the radiator to rotate the knob, somehow triggering a connection. That's not very user friendly. It seems to be more of a hardware issue than an issue with the app though. Also, it seems to be only possibly to schedule two separate temperatures.
Okay, I like the concept, but there are some things that should be improved: - when I open a list of my thermostats, names are dark gray until a phone gets a connection with them - it would be good to have some indicator that the phone is trying to connect with other thermostats to avoid confusion and mindless clicking - same list of thermometers could be a bit bigger - it would be good to have all of them connected at the same time, so I can easily apply the same settings to all of them at the same time - good to have a list of my thermometers, where I can see last set settings for each of them, even if the phone is not connected to them Feel free to message me if you need some help or more info, I would be happy to help with my experience in software development and UX.
Initial setup of the thermostat works. Then for every time you want to change the temperature/schedule, it cannot connect, not before you do Add Danfoss Eco again, and this might fail multiple times before it finally connects. This has happened in the same way with 3 different Android phones. Even just leaving the app in the background will disconnect the thermostat, even if Bluetooth is on and it was connected 2 seconds ago. The other side to this is that a short press might lower temp to low..
Ok interface. Could be a little bit more clear about what the different temperatures shows. E.g. top right corner is actual temperature, bottom is actual target temperature. The copy function for settings is great. It takes long time to create connection between the phone and the unit. BUT it does not control the temperature as expected, we hope this is due to too small radiators, which we will upgrade.
This app needs updating! There are so many things it could do that it doesn't. I've stopped recommending the Eco2 to people that ask purely based on the app lacking functionality. It's slow too which makes no sense. Adjusting the settings is tedious and has to be done repeatedly for each thermostat. If Danfoss doesn't want to update the app then either stop selling the thermostats or give other devolopers access via an API
Ok, but manauls are not readily showing all features, so some fooling around is required. And web pages does not clearly state that eco and link two completely different systems. In fact the word system is a bit overrated when the controls must be set individually But good user interface that is easy to use. Bluetooth is, however, painfully slow, so carefully consider the link system, wifi and central control.
The app takes too long to connect to the thermostats. A major disadvantage is you cannot group radiators together. I.e. living room could contain living room left and living room right thermostats, and thus allow you to set them at the same time. Likewise, it would be nice being able to control every thermostat in the house in a single way, rather than having to spend several minutes to go over individual thermostats. @DanFoss Apps. Stop replying that and fix it instead. These suggestions aren't new. Or open the API and let someone else build a better app. @Danfoss A/S - How about repeating the same thing over and over you actually fix it? This was suggested by others ages ago. Or, just open the API so someone else can build a better app.
After a long awaited update connecting to the thermostats became very easy. It takes only a few seconds now. The interface could be improved, but it does everything it's supposed to. You can even copy schedules from one thermostat to another.
It's so unbelievable slow and often it doesn't connect to the thermostats even when sitting right next them. This app plus thermostats are not smart at all. They are plain annoying and I've switched back to the good old manual ones. PS: I'm an embedded software engineer that makes devices like this for a living
Valves are great, but the app... No account possibility, so for the new device need to pair everything again and set up schedules. Sometimes it takes a bit long time to connect to a device. Would be great if you could control all at once.
A little slow to connect, but with a little patience it works every time. Currently my only real concern is that the development seems to have stopped. No app update since May and the settings menu seems a little dated visually.
Super slow to connect, like so slow I rarely use the app at all. Once in a while I will start the app and after a minute of waiting, I'll frustratingly walk over to control the thermostat. UI needs a major overhaul too.
Really slow to switch between different units with no feedback, so you click and 30s later the interface changes slightly and if you then click again it will finally switch. Also not possible to switch a group to a different schedule/temperature.
So far, having just used it one day: works fairly well. Sometimes fails to connect or takes long, other times it's swift. I see two major functions I'd like: 1) being able to group thermostats where I have more than one radiator in a room, 2) being able to tell all my thermostat or all in a group "I'll be out for X hours from now, go to the lower temp setting".
How about adding a manual or/and simple explanations to settings? It's more like discovering functions than using them. Alexa skill would be helpful as well. This kind of automation concept by Danfoss is simply crappy.
I am so tired of the app not connecting. It's a real struggle every time. Now my thermostat keeps glowing with the red light. It won't connect and it won't stop glowing... This is BS.
Connection to thermostat is slow because thermostat is not brodcasting bluetooth signal all the time - most probably not to drain batteries. It's like once per 30 secs. Simple as that :) To speed up press button on thermostat
its a stable app, but its slow, not well thought out, and takes a long time connecting, and is missing the possibility to change temperature through out the day beside using "Day and Not home" setting
Too slow, have to switch it of to go from one device to the other. Simply not practical at all on android AND apple Following this review a danfoss technicien replied by telling me that I could accelerate the connection time of the app to the device by turning it or pressing the button on it. But then what's the point in having an app if I have to go around the house to turn the devices on all the radiators?
It works. But connecting time can be faster. Sometimes after changing temperature on app in manual mode. Temperature in termostat don't change. And need to connect with app again. App outdated 2017
Connects really slowly or sometimes no connection at all. Features are not clear and not user friendly. Need lot more upgradation.
App works great. I'd like to be able to change the ramp speed/maximum ramp manually though. The app looses 1 star because it needs GPS connection for some strange reason.
Really slow and clunky. App lags, you have to go around the flat to wake the thermostats up. The UI is confusing at start.
It is slow and you cannot send a command to all termostat Ine the same time you need to change it one by one and wait like 20 for everyone to connect but generally it is ok
It works veeery very slow to pair with the thermostat. Like incomprehensibly slow. Also the app is not very user friendly. :(
The app is OK but no one from Danfoss has sought about the old fashioned in wall Thermostate which we have in Switzerland. So it makes the Thermostate to a useless item. And no one from Danfoss here in Switzerland has an idea. But I was just left on the phone like a stubid idiot.
too early for final verdict but so far it is a bit clumsy, slow and unresponsive. hope it will adjust in a while
Okay app but a little slow and clunky. After a few days the thermostats seem to adapt well and keep temperatures stable
The initial setup was easy and quick, but connecting to the thermostats afterwards is disastrous. It usually takes about 45 seconds to connect and it still fails 50% of the time. It also looks like the development of the app has stopped. At the time of writing the last update was 7 months ago. I've even e-mailed the address listed here on the page regarding the lack of updates, but I just got a canned response back. Edit: Updated my review to 1 star because this product is terrible.
