Dark Mode Theme for Facebook
This is an unofficial app that changes the style of facebook.com to a black theme (or any other color of your choice!).
You were surfing your news feed for far too long even though you have to get up at 5am the next morning? Well, we can't help you with that, but we can help you to reduce eye strain by darkening and replacing all bright colors by more pleasant colors. Use your favorite social network during the night!

Does this actually change my Facebook app to a dark theme?
-> This is an additional standalone app that you can use alongside the original Facebook app. It does not change the theme of the original app, as this is not allowed by the Android security system. Just use the regular app, when you feel like it, and use ours when it's dark outside.
How do I activate the dark mode?
-> If you start our app, it is already in a dark mode, you don't need to switch it on. Just use it like you would use your regular Facebook app!
Can I switch off dark mode?
-> No. Just use the regular Facebook app to use the standard theme.
Can I remove the ads?
-> We need the ads to support the development of these apps. But you can buy the ad-free PRO version here:

Can I change the colors?
Yes, we have multi-color support. You can change the black-theme to red, blue, green and all the other colors you like. Just open our app and wait until Facebook has loaded. Then, swipe right to open the menu. Click on "Change Colors". In the following menu, you can select the background color you like (and you can set the text color, too). On the bottom, you'll see a preview of how it will look like when you apply these colors. Give it a few seconds to reload. If you like your selection, click on "Apply". At the moment, you have to watch an ad to unlock this feature. After watching the ad, your settings are applied and you should see the colors you selected.
I accidentally changed the colors, how can I go back to the black-theme?
Open the menu (swipe right) and select "Change Colors". Now click the button on the bottom that says "Reset to default." Now you should be back to our initial black-theme.
Do I need to create a new Facebook account?
-> No. It works with all Facebook accounts.
Does this also work for Facebook Messenger?
-> Yes, just click the Messenger-icon on the top menu.
How do I go back?
-> Please use the back button of your phone to go back.
Can I post my current location?
-> Unfortunately, this is not implemented at the moment.
Can I upload pictures or videos?
-> Yes. If you try to upload pictures or videos, a new window will pop up that lets you select your files.

NOT A THEME! It's a separate app that runs. When you theme something it uses the original app so you should take theme out of the name. I can get dark mode on my web browser that works better then most people's attempt to make a FB app. Sorry but thanks for trying and thanks for your time at making this cause I'm sure people really do like it but it's just not for me.
It works on my fb better than the previous one that i have, the only problem that i have is everytime i open my fb it blinks before turning into dark mode white then dark mode. It is much better if it's already dark mode once you open fb the blinking makes me feel dizzy. Overall i like the app.
Not trying to be harsh but it felt like running Facebook on a computer from 90's. But it was a black theme and it could do Facebook function. Bottom line to me its just aesthetically unappealing!
i just installed this app awhile ago after reading everything and all.. yep, it does not change of the theme of Facebook itself, but rather create a new facebook app with dark theme.. so far so good.. the only thing is that it keeps on loading every time i open the app.. takes about 15-30 sec.. then its good.. btw, im using mobile data.. but it runs.. then, talking whether its safe or not... hmm... i really am not that a 100% sure, but im still using it.. that's all..
Might prove harmful. This is not a secondary app that supplements Facebook by making it dark, but rather they ask to log in to your facebook account within the app, which might be an attempt of phishing. Since the app holds no license from Facebook, therefore it is much risky to enter your log in details because the chances of your account getting hacked are high. Would better prefer white UI of Facebook than getting my account hacked for a mere dark mode look. Things may be other way round too.
No desktop mode. Marketplace not rendering properly. If I change colours, it doesn't change the top horizontal line. Seriously, is there anyone that can get an alternate Facebook app right?
This us a good one so far! Only issue is pics won't enlarge to see detail. This seems to be a common problem with alternative FB apps.
Looks really bad, basically it's just a browser with slightly edited code page to change background. Probably not safe to log in on to your main account.
This is really just a mobile browser version of Facebook. Which I can already do with Samsung browser and in Dark Mode, without the ads. Uninstalled.
Not bad. There a few little stupid things I can't do but it seems to give me a better feed, shows me notifications. Going to take some getting use to but I like it.
PERFECT BUT THE STATUS BAR NEEDS TO BE LIGHTER OR THE TABS COLOURED. WE CAN'T SEE ANYTHING EXCEPT NOTIFICATIONS AND HOME BUTTONS. THE THREE LINES BUTTON CANNOT BE SEEN AND ALSO MESSENGER IS ALSO UNSEENABLE ON THE STATUS BAR
unfortunately this is not working on a Samsung J7plus from METROPCS Would have liked it. .does not load account nor does it create new account. just simple load of start screen and no further success.
The app is promising yet it keeps on crashing. Hope you can update it, not only for the pro version.

Umm I just installed it and wrote my email and password. It logged in then pushed me out! :)) Why? It doesn't open again. I tried a lot! ..
The facebook really turn into black in color, but i dont like it because it is separate apps.
I just downloaded this app and I love it I would pay a one time fee to loose those annoying commercials though good job so far I love it-S9+
it's works fine runs in chrome browser in dark mode .. however a little worried about 3rd party access to my face book login so uninstalled

I can't do anything on this app all the features are missing I just deleted it and downloaded a screen filter instead

Can't get notifications? Ummmm.. and everytime I turn to landscape mode it reloads the entire page

Pretty pleased so far. Only wish when I was typing the bubble-field containing my message would appear above my keyboard like it does on the FB app rather than being covered by my keyboard in this app. Every time I need to check if I've made a typo or want to go back in my message to add or change something I must close my keyboard to read & to attempt to tap just the right place to type my changes at, then reclose the keyboard to be certain I'm relly there then do it again to return to the end!
