INTRODUCTIONThis theme is a fork of Dark Material, but with stock Android Lollipop icons system wide, instead of the new custom minimal icons. To have the full experience, install Dark Material as well to have the companion app, as well as the other parts of the theme such as ringtones, notifications, boot animations, etc.
WHY "DARK MATERIAL"?To understand why this theme doesn't follow Google's traditional "Material Dark" design with dark teal and/or blue grey, I will briefly explain.
This theme wasn't based on Google's Material Style, but was mainly influenced by the "Tinted Status Bar" mod's results, where it completely made the action bar into one fused item. I really liked this design, which made the system more minimal as it had two layers to look at, rather than 3 (Action Bar Primary, Action Bar Primary Dark (status bar darkened color) and the fragment layer (the interacting area)). The fact that I named this theme "Dark Material" over "Material Dark" was because I wanted to depict a dark, physical metamorphic rock
- "slate", and it's color. As the color scheme of this theme is mainly dark (black, grey and white text), I added the word "Dark" in front of my interpretation of "Material" hence the title "Dark Material". Themes that follow Google's Material Dark, should show up as "Material Dark" to ensure consistency (see Google keyboard settings for reference).
NOTES FROM US, TO YOU.The theme has been updated to the latest commits for March 8th (5.0.2) and synced up with latest 5.1 Bliss builds. If your Settings is not themed properly, you NEED to update your ROM. This theme updates a couple times a week with better improvements and features.

It crashes whatsapp sometimes , during opening whatsapp settings and please make it completely dark , remove gray color from the theme and use Black on the place of Gray and change the navigation bar icons with best stylish one. I'm waiting for next update. Thnx..
Best dark material design compared to others. Consistent with applying dark theme to all extended apps like WhatsApp, Gmail and Dropbox etc. Something other dark theme are still unable to do. Still issues with seeing/ reading notifications text.
This theme is very elegant. However composing email in Gmail is hidious. Please test and improve. Perhaps better to keep the font in white color in Gmail. Said that, if improved I will give 5 stars rating. For now I have given 3 stars only. Thanks.
This is by far one of the most perfect pitch black theme i ever came across but i would like devs to take a look that whenever i used this theme, sometimes google+ stop working. This FC never happened with others themes. Please fix it as i used G+ a lot
great theme. absolutely loved it. but, there are some flaws. i had a black text on a black background when using the gmail app. black text on twitter during previwing photos, black text also appear when i use hashtag on instagram. other than that, its all good.
I am able to read the message but I couldn't see the heading of notification ..this problem exists in notification from all apps I have seen
Only one request, can you guys make Google Allo blackened, obviously you guys can, but yeah just pointing out one of the apps that you guys want to make it blackened ready as the app is getting popular
Please update this. WhatsApp is a bit buggy and pls change the Twitter design. It's hideous!
But the text of some interfaces with white background isn't visible with this theme: like the Google Account setup's interface.
Google apps are very comfortable on the eyes, just wish my outlook email was black too. Best thing I've ever done for my phone! Thanks
I'm using CM13. When I open setting, the Privacy icon looks very small then the others.
You can't identify for example if shuffle in Spotify is turned on or off...
I m even unable to see text when i type in review part on playstore , evrywhere in text boxes i m unable to see text as the box is white and text too is white so please update and solve this
First impression - Absolutely love it on my AMOLED. But in LCD because of the blacklight, doesn't give the perfect darkness. The best theme to have on an OLED screen!!
Too many instances of black on black, like the send button in hangouts app and various text
But, my navbar icons are not the ones shown in image.. It is default ones even after applying theme.
This is the best theme ever. You will get the last star be making the notification text white so that it is readable. Great work!
So far this is the best dark theme I have found. It isn't perfect but what is. Love the simplicity. I prefer this over the newer version. I'm not a fan of the icons in the newer version.
Great, but there are some annoying things. On the sharing options on Instagram it's not possible to see if an icon is clicked or unclicked.
Once I got this, I uninstalled all the previous dark themes I had. Loving that it's actually a black centered theme, and not just another dark shade of grey. Also, preserves aspects of the stock Android theme, which is a huge plus.
When I get a notification the text is very hard to read. Maybe you can fix this by making the notification text white?
The CPU X network speed indicator in the notification panel has dark text on dark background. Please fix this.

Did you try writing an email on CM13? Black on black email content we cant read big issue fixed with removing theme with app themer in Gmail.
this is awesome.. but why are the on/off toggle icons just not the same design as stock, if this is the regression version?
The only dark theme that matters, and the only dark theme that actually themes almost everything unlike others that only theme a few apps

As of Aug/10/16, the latest versions of the apps Youtube and Gmail is not themed!
The only problem I have is that when writing an email in Gmail the text is black on black. Strangely this does not apply to displaying already sent emails, the email header or the email overview, but only to the text area into which the text of a new email is to be typed. The behavior was not always like this, but appeared recently (with a Cyanogenmod 13 update for both Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505 and I9506).
