I really want to like this app. It has a very clean, and interesting interface. However, it's short term accuracy is very poor. And the future cast radar is terrible. At times it predicts that rain bands will make 90 degree turns, something you don't really see too often in real life. ;) I wish I had a good recommendation for an alternative, but WeatherUnground is unreliable, and Weather Channel is just annoying. At the moment I'm using NOAA Weather Free which works fairly well.

Almost Perfect! I've tried MANY apps, and this one nails it. I liked it so much I upgraded, and now it's even better! The way lots of complex data is visually represented is top notch. The maps are adequate, but not as detailed as some other apps. This could be improved. I would also like to see the ability to select % probability of precipitation as my default. Neither of these suggestions are worth taking away a star. I can't recommend this highly enough...and I do! A lot. Great work folks! 👍

On the pop up for the various conditions please include info about first light, sunset, last light, moon rise and moon set. I know there is the indication via print (9 1/2 hours, etc). However, I believe this will give a complete picture of the day. Like the day-night mode but dark is much much easier to see in our bright sunlight days. The time machine piece is very unique. It'll be interesting to see how close the predictions really are. Very different from all the rest of the other WX apps. Keep it up!

Spot on. I continue to find this weather app to be as accurate, sometimes more, as the local televison forecasts. I would like to see a better option for the next few hours. The current setup makes it too difficult to see past an hour or so. I should point out that im talkong about while zoomed somewhat in on the radar. But, definitely worth the cost of the subscription.

Generally accurate, looks nice, and usually keeps itself up to date. The widget tells you everything you're likely to need at a glance, without taking up a lot of space. The subscription price is minimal, and definitely worth what you get. My only real complaint is that the (optional) persistent notification with the current temperature/upcoming forecast doesn't follow the theme set on the app. It's always light, even when the rest of the app is set to a dark theme.

This is a good weather app that has a very smooth and uncluttered interface. Love that there are no ads, even in the free version. But I uninstalled because it charges a yearly subscription to get basic features that other weather apps offer for free. What's more frustrating is the fact that the iOS version of this app is a one-time purchase. Please consider dropping the subscription for Android. UPDATE: Changing to 1 star after Apple acquisition and shutdown of Android app in July.

Trusr me, send the money versus using some freebee app. Not only is this one of the most accurate weather apps I've used oh, but it's also the most fully-featured. The interface is clean and user-friendly, the widget is extremely useful/configurable, and the notifications, as well as the ability to fine-tune those notifications, are second to none. VERY customizable app.

After installing the app to try it out I'm greeted with a banner on every screen to try premium with a free two week trial. Cool, let's see what that's about. I subscribe to premium and the banners don't go away, no access to premium features. At this point I've tried re-subscribing ("You're already subscribed"), clearing data/cache, reinstalling the app, and literally every other thing I can think of, but I can't get the app to enable the premium features. I waited one day just to be sure - nothing. Without premium I can't even get a temperature notification in my status bar so the app is essentially worthless. That's a shame.

Why do some weather apps insist on showing you the morning low for a day rather than presenting it as the overnight low for the previous night? The morning low method may be technically correct, but it's virtually useless from a day to day usability perspective. When I look at today, I don't care what the forecast low temperature was for before I woke up. It's really too bad you can't change this because I really like this app otherwise. But from a quick glance usability perspective, especially on widgets, this arrangement pretty much destroys everything good the app does.

This is the best weather app I've used. It has a nice, fairly intuitive interface and is remarkably accurate. Yeah, it's not perfect sometimes, but it's better than the rest. It sends notifications when it thinks rain is going to start soon, gives you umbrella reminders if it thinks rain is coming during a typical workday, and has my favorite radar map by far. Well worth a few bucks a year to subscibe.

great app! I live in Florida where you NEED to keep an eye on the weather. the paid version of the app has allowed me to get notifications of incoming storm fronts as well as look at easy to read radar reports. the timing predictions are about 95% accurate. the only time I've noticed any major discrepancy as to timing is how long the rain is expected to last. but very accurate on when it's going to start. overall, I've renewed my yearly subscription and can't go without it down here in FL.

Probably one of the best weather apps I've used ever. The radar and maps are very pleasing to look at and are easy to understand. The "to the minute" predictions aren't exact but are close enough. Being someone who works outside and watches the weather closely this app is great and accurate. The free version is plenty for basic forecasts but the pro version is worth the money and doesn't ask for much ($3 a year)

After a friend recommended this, I quickly subscribed to the paid version. This has been a great app with wonderful features and excellent accuracy. Over the years I've recommended it to many friends. Some of them purchased the subscription also. It is therefore extremely disappointing that the developer is choosing to abandon their longtime supporters. Apple's slap in the face to the people who funded Dark Sky, has resulted in them losing a family Apple music subscription.

The app performance is very fast, much faster than other weather apps that I've tried. I find the app to be unpolished as info tends to run together. The widgets isn't so great. They charge $2.99 per year subscription for premium features which isn't a lot but others only charge one time and that's all. Some settings that I wanted the app doesn't have. I will not keep this app.

1 star. I really liked this app, it is accurate and precise with a great user interface. I've spent hours watching fronts move on the maps. I've never spent money on a weather app before, but this was a no-brainer. I recommended this to many friends and they subscribed as well. This was my go-to, at-a-glance weather report, to the point where it's the first app I open *every morning*. However, I will not be able to use it come July, as I have an Android. You lost a very loyal user! :(

Dark Sky is by far, the best weather app I have ever used. It has many options for weather, like the temperature, real feel, precipitation chances, wind speeds, and more. And with the pro version, which is very cheap, you get a feature that I've never seen on any other app. That is where it can tell the weather for the minute for the next hour. It sends notifications for when it's going to start raining telling how many minutes until it starts raining, and when it's going to stop raining.

Bud. L. Aug 2, 2019

Frequently inaccurate. Now, 4:30 PM, 8/2/19 forecast in Kenner, LA app states light rain now but radar shows no rain even close to me. Contradicting itself. I really love the whole layout and it is the best weather app I have had but do not understand why it cannot be more accurate. Pop-up rain storms seem impossible to predict, I get that, but the app contradicting itself is just ridiculous. That should be easy to correct. I and many others rely on weather apps because we are outdoors a lot.

Really awesome! Information dense graphics. Super intuitive interface. Broad overview or deep dive into details. For weather nuts, this is one app you gotta have, there's really nothing else like it. Suggestion- ability to change the speed of the time progression in the maps. They are so beautiful I want to play them over and over, but If love to be able to SLOW them down.

Overall a really good app. Full functionality requires subscription. Very accurate. It does lack a unique alert tone for severe weather alerts. Would definitely benefit from an emergency alert. 3 tornado warnings and aside from the pop up, no notification. Not helpful when you're asleep or not looking at your phone.

I loved this app, but lately with the inaccurate weather reports, I had to start looking elsewhere. I didn't mind the subscription, was a subscriber for a few years, but telling me it's 74 degrees, walk outside and it's clearly 68 like many other apps reported, was kind of annoying. The discrepancy between this and other apps were too high to go unnoticed. Local News, Google Assistant, and others would just get closer to what my outdoor thermometer says and feel. Wonder what happened?

B. P. Apr 15, 2019

It's been pretty accurate and has a nice interface, the only bad thing is that it keeps sending me the same notification about the same storm every 5 minutes. I thought it might be a bug since i had an old version, but after updating it is still repeatedly sending the same notification over and over. I ended up having to turn it off

Jos. S. May 2, 2019

Clean and functional weather app. No ads. I enjoy the widget. I've renewed my yearly subscription a second time! Small complaint: as of lately, the weather sometimes doesn't auto-update that frequently. I resolved this by turning battery optimization off. I would love it if it could work with optimization on, but I haven't found that it has a huge impact on my battery so far. Edit: I wanted to mention how imprtant UV/sunscreen alerts are for me!

Great app. The app has two main screens, forecast and radar. The radar screen is basic but is interesting, but what is good about this app is the forecast screen. On that screen, there is a lot of info about weather conditions for the day and the week in an easy to understand layout. For the day it shows temp, precip prob, precip rate, UV index, cloud cover, and more. I am personally inclined to having as much info and data as possible, and this app is good for being free.
