Dark Things - detective quest

I love the cookie option. I get the game for free and y'all get paid. Win win. I like the nostalgic graphics. The dialogue is funny but in serious need of spell correction. I ran into a few glitches. When I would re-enter a room an item I already picked up would be back in its place until I clicked on it or a text box of something I had already investigated would automatically pop up. Nothing serious. The game is overall short and not challenging enough to pay for but still enjoyable to play. 3*

Great point & click adventure game! Imaginitive game play, storyline, and entertaining dialog. I do wish there was a walkthrough available. Totally stuck on episode 3 in finding a symbol of fortune - and I've tried everything in my inventory as well as clicking on every person & object I can find. Without a walk-through, how do we know it's not a bug in the programming? Otherwise, it's a fun game and I look forward to more episodes.

Really fun adventure puzzle game! The first episode is kind of short, but the second makes up for it in length and also by providing back story. Edit: I finished eps 3 and 4. Puzzles were fun and sometimes challenging, but part 4 had some major noticeable grammar issues. The story was still pretty good, but I got pulled out of the "zone" a few times when I couldn't tell what the characters were trying to say. If the developers need someone to help with the script, I gladly volunteer my services.

The stories are incredibly short, short enough that I can't justify paying $0.99 for three extra ones. The puzzles are simple enough, excluding the little games with the characters like the coded door and Connect 4. It is nearly impossible to get the right code or win the game, after playing for over an hour. The controls are a little off, and bugs explained away as in game quirks and features by the developer. Would not recommend or play again.

Nice. Witty dialogue, some simple and relaxing puzzles (except the sliding puzzle, which I hate), moderately interesting story, pixel-art graphics. Also, with some patience the game can be played for free in its entirety. Downside: lots and lots of typos, in English as well as in Russian.

It was fun! I enjoyed the puzzles, and the story was a ride to follow along. I especially likes the occult elements because they made everything much more interesting. I do wish Miss Cole had more of a use rather than just a source of ingredients (and a commentator...?), or that the parrot tagged along on more adventures, but I suppose I'll have to wait for the sequel to see more of them.

Its short and nice. The graphics are simple but pretty and charming, the stories are interesting and made me chuckle at times. The only gripe I have is really that I wasn't smart enough to figure the door lock puzzle in the first chapter out fast enough and so the game simply unlocked the door for me after a bit. I would have liked to have the option to simply continue trying to solve it myself

It started off really well and then the writing took a nosedive off a cliff, some of it was so badly worded I couldn't figure out what anyone was talking about in relation to anything. This could be so great, the art style is great and my initial impression from the first chapter was that it was charming and i think with some spell checking and story development it could really be something, but as it stands, its soulless and unengaging.

Came across this game and thought meh I'll give it a try and to my surpise it was better than what I expected!! The storyline is brilliant! It's comedic and fun at best! The soundtrack actually reminds me of Stranger Things. And I'm hoping that we can get more episodes to solve? Hopefully?? And the ads are great cause you can choose whenever you want to watch them! Overall, it's incredibly great I found this gem of a game :D

this was stupid. the game was very short. but mostly it was dumb. if i click on something it goes into an unstoppable sequence of text that i have to run through every time. there is no way to escape from it. the story didn't make a lot of sense either. i couldn't even quit out of it. there was a christmas game there too, that was even more clumsy to play. at one point i was playing some kind of game with a monster, there were no instructions, i had no idea what i was doing, or how to get out of the game. i had to actually go back to the main screen of my phone and erase it. old ega games, looked like this but there were more navigation friendly, had better jokes, and were overall better.

The game is fun, and the puzzles through it are good. It just takes so much cookies to unlock each subsequent episode. You get 15 at the start but you can't buy the next episode until you have 18. The cookies are also used as a hint system, which is nice, lots of games make me look at a walkthrough because there are no hints. I haven't actually used any, the puzzles aren't that hard. Making each episode cost a little less cookies would be nice, but it is good that it's not a paywall.

The gameplay are okay and the details are quite impressive, but I've paid for two of the chapters and it's not really getting more interesting. I was also suddenly not able to continue, or restart the chapter I was playing. Maybe it's not the developers' faults but I do not bother to redownload and replay everything.

I absolutely adore everything about this. I love the wit and humour, the characters are interesting and dynamic, and you get to have a cat! What more could someone want? It gives you the option to pay to get stories faster, which is a great way to support the devs, but if you're as broke as I am then you can just as well unlock the stories by watching short ads or saving up daily rewards. This has the same sort of feel as early Hellblazer comics. A great addition to the occult detective genre!

A very compelling game with well made characters, puzzles and story elements. While there are a few spelling mistakes, it doesn't take away from the experience at all. I also love the art style and animations. The humour almost always makes me laugh. All in all, would love to more of this game.

A great point and click adventure game! Alongside a cast of characters whose dialogue kept me laughing throughout the game and several puzzles to get you thinking. I fully enjoyed playing all four games and I highly recommend it for anyone who would like to enjoy a good adventure with some banter.

Simple and fun game. maybe a bit simplistic for some, but I loved it. Hope there might be more episodes. Wife laughed her head off at the extra C in cookies.found a Bug in wirepuzzle where parts of wire stays when you remove a them, locking off slots. I had to close and reopen game twise to complete it. Hope for more episodes.

This is the best pixel game I've ever played. The story is engaging and fun, the chracters are very likable and the puzzles are neither too easy nor too hard. I hope new chapters can come out soon

I loved it. Episode one was short but the rest weren't. You can click on cookies at any point in the game to get clues. The story was nice. I kinda liked the art too. I clicked on everything just to hear the dialogues The first episode was free and the next three requires cookies. 2 requires 30 and 3 and 4 requires 60 each. To unlock cookies you need to watch quite a few ads... But I managed to get it in less than a week, so in the end I played the WHOLE GAME FOR FREE. So 5/5 for me. Great job.

I loved this game. I like the puzzle and feeling of excitement when I try solving problems of every episode. It is also interesting the reveal of potential antagonist in the next episode, I can't for episode 5 to come up. I'm having fun. Keep it.

Its fun and i have paid for both eps but the problem is for ep 3 it seems impossible to continue. there is also no walkthrough(especially since its a paid game) and since i cant complete the ep paying for it seems like a waste. i am unable to solve the lockpick puzzle or do anything with the filled out book even after clicking it around things so many times. i don't know what esle to do. It would be great to have hints somewhere to be honest.

i love this game :) it's a bit too short, so i hope there will soon be additonnal chapters... there are some dialogs which were not translated (don't hesitate to contact me if you accept help for that. i could also do a French translation) but at the end, it's still a 5 stars game. awesome graphics and animation, excellent atmosphere and scenario. i loved it. i finished all the available chapters in a matter of hours, i'm impatient to see what's next... thanks for this great game :)

It's art work is nice, game control also comfortable.But, the only things that make me didn't play the game is because the size of the word... Its... Too large. I'm unsatisfied with the subtitle that almost cover the whole screen and I can't even adjust it(>~<*). I think maybe you can let us try to adjust the subtitle ourselves or... Make it smaller? I want to enjoy the artwork... So much...

Really love the story and gameplay! It honestly reminds me a little of The Last Door! I cannot wait for epispde 5 to come out! I don't know if everyone is having this issue but halfway through the Christmas episode it gets stuck in Russian and makes the level unfinishable. Hopefully this will be fixed soon!!

More of a visual novel than an adventure game really - just reams of text on each scene, no real clear indication on what you can and can't interact with. Writing is clumsy and difficult to wade through at times, as though written by someone who has never heard human speech before.

THIMBLEWEED PARK VIBES!! Similar graphics, similar interface, fun point and click adventure! The only thing I wish is that this game had a stronger storyline. I would really love to see more work like this published by the developer! Thank you for the cool game! Please keep them coming! And please add more detail into the storyline (like Thimbleweed Park)!

Hope you have plans for more episodes. This game was fun and hilarious! I liked the Sherlock Holmes remix. And I liked the meta-humor and the nonsensical "wisdom" of Mr. Doe, but sometimes he and Ms. Cole talk too much. It was challenging. Sometimes some clues were inane, but when you figure them out, it's good. Sometimes, it isn't clear to me right away what the goal of a mini-game is, but I like the Aha! moment when I get it. That wires mini-game in Ep 4 was tough.

Not playable on touch screen. In fairness, I did see the "this app may not be optimised for your device" message but in my experience that doesn't usually mean literally unplayable. Despite seeming to respond to taps the first thing I needed to do required a mouse with no option to tap & drag, so sadly I can't play. No use to anyone on tablet or phone.

I remember playing the first episode in a separate game, and thought it had potential, but it was so short. The other episodes were locked by a pay wall, and I can't afford to buy any games. I much prefer having the cookie option, as it allowed me to play all episodes. I really enjoyed the game, and I hope to play more from you. My main complaint is that there were some errors in the English, but it didn't make the game unplayable by any means. Well done.
