Someone finally gets it! It doesn't time out. It has no white bits. It doesn't strobe. The settings are black. Even from 100% brightness, it safely closes to your home screen without blinding you. It's simple perfection for all your therapy, circadian rhythm, and night light needs without the glaring mistakes of the others! Highly recommend!

Works beautifully with one exception. The adjustment bar defaults to fully expanded. This has the detrimental effect of dimming the screen randomly. As you move your phone around the app it will, of course, occasionally switch from portrait to landscape (& vice versa). As this happens the adjustment bar adjusts as well, & in landscape mode blocks much more of the screen, dimming the usable light. I want to like this app, but find that this design flaw keeps me using the "Red Light" app.

Just wish it would start up with the brightness control minimized. Otherwise, great for moving around the house at night without blinding myself or others with the flashlight.

Always been good. Now it's the best. The 13 April update made Dark Light the most useable red flashlight available. Easy, well thought-out interface that removes the nav bar but provides a black X at the top to close the app. It now remembers the last brightness setting so that it's possible to launch it with the dimmest level possible which is important for preserving dark adaptation or for not being rude to people nearby.

Great, super, smashing. Needed to check my budding plants in the dark, so as not to disturb them, and the app works a treat. Bright red screen, gives a good enough glow to see immediately around you in the dark. Recommended.

This app is absolutely perfect for observing bugs at night! I just spent nearly an hour watching my millipedes, under any other light source they'll immediately hide. But with pure red light like this they go about their buisness as usual! I rarely review apps, but this one is so helpful that I had to!

I like the red light for looking at the program in a theatre, but the light is a bit dim, and it would be nice to not have to unlock the screen (with its bright white-ish light) to get back to the red light app

Very useful and well-executed. Great on OLED screens where only the red pixels are lit. Would prefer the menu to be collapsed on launch, though.

Simple concept, decently made. Sometimes its better to use a darker light so as not to blind you in the dark.

Useful, simple tool for lighting the red spectrum. It helps in various activities in the dark because red light does not affect the dark circular opening in the center of the iris of the eye (pupil) that normally shrinks reacting to normal lighting.

Simple, effective. Great for using to check on the baby at night without turning in a regular light and losing all night vision.

Produces red light with adjustable brightness. Usefull for seing in the dark where blue/white light is too harsh to your eyes.

Works well for dark night events where light is needed, but white light ruins night vision. I use it for night sky viewing, ie star gazing.

Easier to use a red flashlight. But handy in a pinch. Works as advertised.

This light let's me be able to root thru things in the dark without turning the lights on.

Handy app. Dev, do you know where in spectrum this red light is, how many nanometers? I heard about study claiming 670nm rejuvenates mitochondria in eyes and slows aging decline in vision.
