Best app ever because they play great music and a great selection of radio, no commercials!!!, And you don't have to pay anything. Only thing that is lacking is casting button on the app to play on your smart devices crashes on the app and telling your smart speaker to play sometime doesn't understand what to play because I guess it isn't registered it in the system??
Essentially Pop music, but for various genres. Yep there are at least 75 stations, but that's if all genres are counted. Each genre has only a few to several stations. And genre options seem limited as well. Then, it seems that stains mostly play pop tunes in each genre. Was hoping for a range of moods. Oh well, y'all might do well, especially because ads are excluded.
Excellent alternative to SiriusXM. My only issue is the lack of access to favorites through Android Auto in my Hyundai Santa Fe. That seems like it would be a no-brainer feature because it helps reduce the amount of time you keep your eyes on the infotainment unit looking for a station while driving.
app shuts off audio when you turn off screen. every app I have doesn't do that. I can't change anythingin settings or in app to play in background.
I love Dash Radio! It's the greatest thing since sliced bread! But I do not like this app. It only works in portrait mode, which is wrong because my tablet's stereo speakers are designed to work in landscape mode (I don't think a 2-speaker device exists where the stereo is in portrait mode). I'm forced to use a screen-hacking app to override the screen orientation, but I shouldn't have to.
Pretty cool app overall. 2 big cons though, I will mention. 1. Number of stations per genre is very unbalanced, the app seems to be biased towards rap and pop. For example, there's about 15 different rap stations and about 10 dance stations, but only 6 rock stations and 2 country stations. 2. The app seems like it needs some updating, seems a bit behind current times. Aside from that, pretty good.
I used to LOVE this app but ever since the change made on April 9 - I can't get it to play a single song from start to finish. It stops playing and I have to stop what I'm doing to open the app again, and then it stops playing again less than a minute later. Super frustrating as it used to work fabulously! Not anymore. so sad. now I have to look for another App for music.
Best music app! never had any issues connecting or cutting out like some other people are saying. I think it's on their end to be honest. This is the best music app I've used. thank goodness I found this before I subscribed to sirius LOL Update : a lot of pauses in music now 5 times in one song yesterday, it's happening a lot now. Please fix!
As much as I love this app It just keeps cutting off every minute or so, sometimes it comes back on its own and sometimes it doesn't. It wasn't an issue prior but now it seems to cut out more and more frequently and I miss most of the conversation on a podcast or half of a song! plz fix asap!
Downloaded and thought nothing of it. Started flipping through stations and I've been here jamming ever since :D Ad free, hits from every genre imaginable! Coming from me, a picky music enjoyer, I have discovered many new tunes! We got disco, we got funk, soul, country, old country, dance music, 70s 80s 90s rock classics everything! Snoops Cadillac? Whew good times! Although the names of songs glitch sometimes but no biggie! underrated radio app! Still reading this review? Download it already!
Pro: 1. Pretty good music selection for young folks. 2. Favorite saved. Really save time instead going through all those music streams. Cons: 1. Buffer is annoying. 2. I remember "PlutoTV" had a few more steams versus this app (like Monstercat channel 1, 2, 3). Note: "Dash Radio" (Fire TV ver.) "Grunge" genre doesn't stream or play. (I know this is the "Google Play store" version but I hope dev are the same team an find away to fix it). But I give you 5-Star here since this app work here.
As far as radio streaming apps go. Really like where this one's head is at! Love that you can change from explicit / clean lyrics in real-time! But unfortunately you can't do it for every station that only streams in explicit. Wish the Talk genre channels had the clean option as well. As it would be especially useful for public / work environments where profanity isn't tolerated. An lastly the number of channels per genre are greatly unbalanced. If these few things became addressed this would get an automatic 5 stars!
I love it! I'm happy with the random holiday stations and the rock stations great variety of music and artists and commercial free💖💖💖💖
It's basically radio, can't pick artist or make your own stations. I don't see any benefit to this over regular radio Edit- After explanation of the intended services I can't fault the app for what it is made for.. it is not ideal for me but I have adjusted my star rating.
I have been trying to find Dash Talk X and it doesn't come up for me. I can't access the radio show Star Struck with Psychic Wayne. Is this channel not available for certain users?
Just excellent. Why it's not more widely used in UK I will never know. Guess people just like listening to rubbish radio stations. No ads, loads of stations to choose from, there is a lot of rap and hip hop but that's not a bad thing in my view. Could do with a bit more diversity in electronic music, some proper techno, dnb, jacking house etc would go down well (there's a lot of commercial edm though). Get on Beat Junkie, Native Rhymes, Waves, Reggae King, 1580, Dash Bot X. All good stuff!!!
Works as described. Unfortunately doesn't have a smooth jazz selection. Has 'cool jazz' and jazz from early 20th century legacy movies. But no smooth jazz. I like working out to smooth jazz. So uninstalled for now. As promised there aren't any pop up ads or in app ads. The only ads are its own branding audios.
PROS: It's totally free, with no commercials. CONS: Your favorite station can disappear, or be turned into a different genre of music. When they got rid of "Fantom Subdustrial Radio", I had to create a Pandora station to replace it. (Shrug)
It does what it says. Totally zero commercial and ads. Love it. I have no idea how it will sustain financially. I'm gonna enjoy this while it is still free. Hopefully it can go as long as it can. On another note, I wish you can add other genre from Asia, e.g. Cantopop and Chinese. Keep up the good work.
downloaded this a few days ago, i used it here and there at home, and really liked the platform. figured i would put it to the test on a 14 hour to road trip. played the same station all 14 hrs, and i never heard the same song twice. the Church of Rock and roll is my new favorite station!
The only radio app I have ever used for years. MonsterCat is the BEST electronic station on earth! Waves chill beats, Lofi, rap, disco, dance, British drum`n base, along with the mainstream stuff, what else could u ask for? How about Snoop Dog`s Cadillac? Cinema scores? Fun time kids radio? Check! The only thing it's missing is some Metal variation - otherwise it's perfect!
UPDATE: rarely does the music stop when I unlock the phone anymore but DASH programming is having some serious problems lately where some channels will simply go silent while others still work, and other times all the programming is on the wrong channels. When this happens, I'll channel flip almost a dozen channels and either get silence or a different genre will be playing from that channel's normal programming, and the song displayed won't be playing. I don't know what's going on with programming but I wish it would stabilize. **ORIGINAL REVIEW>I like the lineup on Dash but it's a bit annoying for the music to stop whenever I unlock my screen on my Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite (2020 version) when the Dash Radio app has the focus. I'll update from three to five stars if this issue is fixed without breaking something else on the process.
