DashClock Music Extension
NOTE: DashClock does not allow me to add buttons to the listing, so until support for that is added I will not be able to add play controls. Go to the settings to set what music player opens when you press the dashclock entry. Your player cannot be autodetected so it must be manually configured.
Works with most music players. If your player does not work, try the suggestions below. If it still doesnt work then your player is not compatible because it does not broadcast out what its playing.
Android 4.4+: Enable the Notification Listener setting to support any player that also supports the android lockscreen music controls.
Android 4.3 and earlier: If your player has last.fm scrobbling support, enable that. If not, look for a setting to broadcast metadata and enable that.

Works great with Sonos but would be nice to be able to have a placeholder type for showing the filename (possibly without the file extension) as well as ID3 tag info which is already supported

Contrary to what other reviews say, Spotify works fine. However, one must make sure that "Device Broadcast Status" is enabled in the preferences.
It won't show up on my dash and there's no "open" button on the play store eiter😱

Cant even use this when installed
EDIT: Uninstalling and reinstalling the extension fixed the issue. Even restarted the phone after uninstall for good measure. Same settings including the 4.4 broadcast options are checked. Either way, glad it's working! Previous issue: I have the extension set for google play music, but the extension doesn't update song info upon change. When the song finishes it remains stuck on a song and pressing it just opens Google play music. Removing and re-adding the extension doesn't help.
This works as expected. I use it with Spotify and it works just fine. I especially like the lock screen art, looks real good. Controls work too. I think a lot of negative reviews are due to the lack of understanding of how the extension works. It also works with the cloud player (for SoundCloud).
In order to get this to with properly with gone mad's lock screen widget turned off, you have to turn off the Dash Clock Music Listener and turn on Gone Mad's meta data broadcast setting. Then things should work!
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but it works with the stock music player.
(I was mistaken. Crashes were due to enabling Notification access in 4.3; took that as not functioning at all.)
It doesn't work! I have it setup on my dashclock and the setting are all toggled correctly but nothing shows up!
I love it, will rate at 5 with one simple addition. For the shortcut, can it be turned off/made null?
Would be better with the option to hide the widget when there is no music playing for a certain amount is time.

The %ar% isn't working. Tried almost everything and it didn't work. I decided to use %aa% and its now working. Remove %ar% its not working.

It works as a music player shortcut. The idea of a widget is to add functionality without entering the app. Add music controls to improve the experience. Thanks!
