Great application. The UI looks nice, sleek, and modern compared to other competitors, but compared to other competitors, the application lacks a bit of features. While getting around the UI is beautiful, sometimes I question why are certain features in weird places, such as authentication codes. If they fix those stuff, I will be happy to recommend this app over any competitor.
It's a great application, one of the better ones out there. Cons - * It's pricey, and you need the paid features for it to be useful limited account storage, can't sync across platforms and other key features are locked in free * It auto fills and tries to log in if there is a captcha * Sometimes stores the wrong login details * won't put login details on some apps, programs, an example its useless for runescape on pc. Id do more feedback but 500 is too short
Used to use this and it was great. But this time I tried to update a password on a site they had in their database. Show a neat graphic telling me what to do. Go to do it and the buttons they tell me will be there to generate the password are not present. I change the password and save it into Dashlane and the website tells me it is wrong. Try the old password and it does not work. Have to go through password recovery that takes 10 minutes. How is this saving me time and trouble? And now see below response. No help whatsoever! Clear from my post the issue was resolved, by me, but all they want is a support ticket so they can go - "Your issue is resolved." Odds on they saw one star and put the cookie cutter response in without reading the actual post.
Works perfectly, even with the free version I can feel very safe with this app Edit: recently there has been a bug where when I try to log in in my phone, and use the email security code, after putting in my password correctly, the screen will just say "error"? The only fix I've so far found is to completely reinstall. While it's rare, it has happened twice before.
It has become a nightmare to use. It's supposed to remember your password for 14 days but that doesn't work. I don't think it understands Google profiles. I seem to spend more time typing my master password than I spent entering passwords before, plus you have to keep reloading web pages until it eventually decides to kick in and enter the data for you. It's been getting progressively worse from update to update. I'm starting to think I need to find a better system.
This app is not reliable at all when it comes to auto fill passwords on login pages or apps on Android. I mean, Even default Password Manager from Google is better than this in terms of customer experience. Purchased premium but this app doesn't work well with apps when it comes to autofill username and passwords. Disappointed, Seriously.
As a free service, you can only use it on one device but I still find it useful as a tertiary backup for other password managers. The paid plan is absurdly expensive and the US plan in particular cost seems to cost around $20 more than anywhere else I checked.
Dashlane itself is great, but the bundled subscription to Hotspot Shield is abysmal. I deleted the latter because often websites and apps wouldn't even connect when it was on (and connected to VPN servers in my own city). I'll be looking at other security/privacy suite options once my subscription ends. I'd recommend to Dashlane that it hook up with an alternate VPN provider.
this app works well most of the time. it is a little annoying when it doesn't recognize a form. but 80+% of the time, it fills in the passwords with just a simple fingerprint scan. I wouldn't go back to a time before the password vault!
Started this on recommendation after horrible bitwarden experience but will b deleting & wont b opting for premium (which states for 1 month but started with 25 days). But it seems all password managers have same business model. No support whatsoever (still havent received any reply via Twitter DM). No dark theme overall on their web version for night users. No desktop client (deal breaker) so always go to browser. Categories are unnecessary. Doesnt work with Kiwi browser. Back to keepass XC.
Bought Dashlane Premium, have Galaxy S22, android 12. Autofill doesn't pop up at all. On line help useless as no information for android 12 only 11. Sorry I paid for subscription, more trouble than benefits far. Update: Have been working with Dashlane premium now for over a month both on android and a W10 PC When it works it is great but all too often it just doesn't. Often fails to pop up at all, frequently miss fills out personal details, and consistently messes up expirary dates of cards.
Mostly very good, but it works differently on some websites and can be frustrating. However great to have strong, different passwords all in one place and easily found.
it accumulates passwords each time you try - even when you entered the wrong one. you can go and edit your list as long as you know which one you don't want... it asks to save prematurely
Was much better until they got rid of the desktop client. I work in a secure facility that doesn't allow mobile phones inside. Thank goodness I had the web app... until suddenly there was no internet access for two days. How am I supposed to get my passwords under those circumstances?? Was not an issue when I had access to the desktop client.
Ocasionally asks for the master password even if fingerprint login is turned on. So you either have to keep your password on the phone or to keep it real simple of which both are unsafe. Additionaly, what is the reasoning behind that decision? If you login once as a non-owner (how?) you can steal passwords before software ocasionally ask you for a master password. Will consider changing the app.
The concept is great, but it keeps forgetting to save my passwords. I get to trusting it and stop trying to remember them and then lo and behold, dashlane doesn't have anything to offer when I go to login. this is not all the time, just enough to really be frustrating.
It's good when it works but often doesn't pop up to input a password and often doesn't appear in the keyboard to create a new password/Account (on Android). Overall pretty frustrating. If it's features just worked it would be brilliant.
I have been a loooongtime user of Dashlane. Getting rid of the desktop app is terrible. My Android app no longer logs me in. It simply says "Error". I must now use the browser extension which is only compatible with chrome, safari, Firefox, and Edge (I believe). I don't use any of those browsers. So I am screwed now. Terrible move for user experience. Now I must find something else that will work.
Not perfect by any means. It's a necessary tool to buy along with a VPN - if you don't want to live in a brightened State of fear. For the most part, they make it easy to use. The VPN that's included is whack. It's still rough seas out there and you don't really know what to expect, so if you're going to use the net - invest in a decent PW manager.
Could previously use dashlane on multiple devices without a premium account, was just unable to sync passwords and add more than 50. Now I'm being forced to unlink dashlane on 1 device to use it on another, absolutely dumb and completely unnecessary change that only serves to anger your user base. Edit: Idk what you consider a core feature or not but what I considered one was removed for no reason other than greed.
10/10 The best password manager I have ever tried! The free version is not limited to the point that you're being suffocated to buy premium and the pricing for the paid plans are also fair and affordable for most people including me as a student! (Not to mention the humongous amount of features associated with the premium plan) Thank you Dashlane for your excellent service! I hope Dashlane will continue to be affordable and convenient to use for our online safety😊
I've been using for a year+ and pleased with services. I was eventually able to navigate the learning process with help from CS, but now I really like it. I also upgraded to premium after a while because I saw the benefits, but it's worth it to me. If anything changes in the future I will update my review.
Every damn time I open the damn app it requires my master password. I have biometric unlock enabled but I guess it just ignores that. This is incredibly aggravating as I've now resorted to storing my password in an unsafe manner to quickly paste it in since I'm having to do that several times a day.
Very efficient and not as anoying as built in Auto-Fill features. I was able to create CVS File from Google passwords and Dashlane did the rest. The apps purpose meets needs, and don't demote efficientcy if you don't purchase premium. (But I recommend for once can't beat the price for the premium version!) ⭐ 10/10 stars ⭐
This isn't a surprise but I'd love an app for the console.dashlane experience. I hope one's being worked on. Setting up SSO for the first time is definitely a desktop kind of assignment, but regular admin tasks, adding/removing staff, sharing passwords and other daily meta-work (on the business, not in the business) on a console app would be 🤌🏻 beautissimo. Love you guys.
Honestly what is the point of having a pass word manager if you have to enter it's password everytime you want auto login to work? I don't get it. It'll work great for a day or two then I will have to get my password book (which I keep at home) for something I do not remember the password for and also so I can re-enter my dashlane master password for it to do what I pay them to do. Maybe I've goofed up a setting that allows me to have auto fill work for more than a day or two?
Browser extension was a terrible idea, bring back the full desktop app. ETA: I don't have hesitations, I've been using it since it launched. It constantly logs out even when I checked the box, fails to recognise and fill forms. I have to copy paste too frequently. At least the app didn't constantly require me to log back in and was easier to get around and manage. I would also like the option to export my data from dashlane.
