I love the look of the widget however, every time I reboot my phone, the app is unresponsive for a minute or two. When it finally started working, it kept turning on and off, a delayed reaction from all the times I tried to turn it on. The lock screen widget will also not work after reboot until I have unlocked the screen. After that it works when it is locked. I have rebooted several times and it has done this every time. I'm on a Nexus 5.
Coming from a cyanogenmod 11 SGS3, the Google Play Edition M8 was sorely lacking in the flashlight department. I missed my in-rom lock screen flashlight but this a superior replacement. The configurable auto off timer saves your battery in case you accidentally turn it on. I bought the full version just to support the developer. Thank you.
If you have the app open and touch anywhere on the screen then it responds to your touch. It gets really annoying (REALY ANNOYING) when using your phone for a light. Especially if you don't want to have to lock your phone to use it as a flashlight. It would be better if the app had a switch in the middle of the screen instead of being so sensitive. Also, there were many times the app would lag and take FOREVER to turn on the light. When it's dark I need a faster response time.
Works but needs a critical improvement. It doesn't allow turning off the flashlight from the lock screen. You need to unlock the phone to do so. Dunno if the limitation is just for the free version. Tested on Moto X, G and E. Would gladly give it a 5 if this is introduced in the free app.
Must have tried around 15 different torch apps before I found this one. Just a simple on/off widget taking only 1 icon space. Exactly what I was looking for. Took me 1 minute to determine that this app is worth buying. Cheers, galaxy note
A nice flashlight with home and lock screen widgets. The auto shut off timer is a simple but clever feature. It also has Dashclock integration, but this forces you to unlock which makes this feature kind of pointless. (This is apparently a fault of Dashclock, however.) I use the lock screen widget instead. My only real complaint is that occasionally DashLight will become completely unresponsive. When this happens, a few minutes later it'll suddenly wake up and process all of the commands issued earlier.
This app is a bit buggy, which wouldn't be a big deal if there were only a few other flashlight apps. But there are tons of others, and most of them are better than this one. All you expect from a flashlight app is for it to turn the flashlight on and off. This app barely even does that.
I wonder why thingies like this aren't part of the vanilla android ((un)fortunately a thing like this is in CyanogenMod out-of-box). Great way to quickly activate the torch, in a small package, without all the nonsense other apps try to provide.
Sluggish under lollipop. Worked like a champ under KitKat. I'll raise my review once fixed. Otherwise just what I need.
Works perfectly, I just wish you could turn the light back off by tapping the light again from the lock screen. Doing it from the notification bar is still easy enough though.
Thought that it would work after purchasing, but this doesn't work on a Nexus 5. Waste of money.
Love the one tap on and off button on my home screen. You'll beat your friends to the torch every time
Always one of the first apps I install on a new device. The widget is perfect for what I need, just a small icon on my home screen.
Great, simple flashlight. If you're looking for a replacement flashlight function after switching from iOS 7, then this is what you're looking for. Add it as a lockscreen and homescreen widget and you'll never have to be fumbling in the dark again. And it's so simple and lightweight it's ridiculous. Fantastic app.
Sometimes I can't turn off the light. I've had to reboot my phone. It needs to be rock solid reliable in this regard and it's not.
Its very nice, navigating away from main scree & turning off screen can keep torch on+Have main screen widget.
Great app, just a bit laggy when toggling on and off. Sometimes I have to press it multiple times for the light to actually turn off
Finally a simple flashlight app that doesn't need to launch an entire window just to turn on the light. Needed one to replace the equally simple Touchwhiz light that came with my S5, this is it.
This app is very useful and the attractive thing is that this app is also run in phone lock mode and screen off mode also . This feature helps saving a battery of cell phone .
This tool works well on Galaxy S5. Turns on at nearly the same speed as the system light and has much better looking widget icon.
The app used to be amazing, but now I get an error message saying it can't access the flash. 5 stars once it's working again.
I used to love this app. Had it on my lock screen using Framework. But now that I'm on Lollipop that's no longer possible. And the app becomes unresponsive after turtling on the flashlight. Sometimes I even have to Force close it. Too bad .....
I give 3 stars because it can toogle ON with lockscreen widget but not off... You have to unlock the phone to turn it off. Otherwise great app.
I knew there had to be a way for my maxx to use the flash light like the iPhone can without unlocking. Of course I just had to look a bit and now it works even better than the iPhone.
I join the rest complain that the button does not turn on or off the torch on the Home screen when the screen is locked. I've paid money for the full version and still there is no difference between the free version and the one with money.
Simple yo use, I now have Lollipop so I won't need this app anymore. I will keep it on my other devices.
I have upgraded to have full access but their isn't any difference with the free version. Furthermore, it has been less than ten minutes ago since I have downloaded this app and its already crashing back to back. I would like a full refund. I'm also unable to set the tasker, widget on my screen. My purpose for upgrading was to use this as a flasher for notification calls or texts.
