Very cool little device! Very accurate if you pick a flat smooth area to capture the sample from. I did notice whites are a bit harder for it to predict so area has to be very smooth. Not sure why people say you can't filter by paint decks, it's really easy, just read a color, select change at top and pick the brands you want to use. I turned off 3 brands that are not commonly used in Arizona. Paid $107 for the color reader tool at Dunn Edwards, so worth it, clients are always amazed by it!
Good device, limited software. It works and connects simply to the reader device & stores the readings. You can save color palettes & make notes on the colors. It is weak on translating the colors. RGB Lab & LCH are provided but, at least in Europe, you need RAL which is missing.
I have a OnePlus (android). The app works once, while registering the reader. Maybe. I have attempted to connect 3 separate units to my device and only the first connected for the first use, after that no amount of charging/fiddling/resets would allow my phone to 'find' the device. As other reviews have stated, this IS NOT a standalone app. It requres a device that you sync to your phone through the app, there are different models but they start at CDN$150.
Bait and switch! If you think this is a standalone app that will use your phone's, tablet's etc., built-in camera to capture, analyze and match the color, you're in for a surprise. It is NOT. It requires an add-on device you must purchase separately (the cheaper one sells for 99 dollars, and the pro version for 249 dollars US, and does not ship outside US). If you're ok with that, fine, but, if you can bring the item of which you want to match the color of to a paint department of your friendly Home Depot, Lowes, or any other decent paint shop, they will color match for free. I don't understand how so many reviewers here can sing the praises for this "app" and not mention the fact you actually have to pay a min. of 99 dollars to get anywhere with it. Shame!
I bought this device through Dunn Edwards, cool gadget, worth the price. Fairly accurate. If you find too much difference in the selected color, calibrate, or i like to scan five sections of a large area, and pick the 3 out of 5, because there are to many variables, dirt, light, coat thickness, etc
this app does what its supposed to perfectly. it isnt for your phones camera but as a concractor that doesnt need to keep going to a paint store for a match i save a lot of money. and yes you can change the fan decks.
Works great, connected my ColorReader EZ immediately after installing app. Reads and matches the paint brands available to me. (Ace, Behr, Benjamin Moore, PPG, Sherwin Williams, Valparaiso for me in the US). Gives RGB and lab colors (although not right from the scan, super annoying) For you less than intelligent cavepeople who give this low ratings that it requires separate hardware, learn to read (LIKE IT SAYS IN THE APP DESCRIPTION) and YOU DIDN'T PAY FOR THE APP ANYWAYS, IT WAS FREE.
works good with the sensor, but you can't select a specific fan deck. i want it to give me color choices specifically from Dunn Edwards but it won't let me choose it. has no problem in ios. Fix and I'll change my review, otherwise waste of money
Absolutely useless, won't be able to access all color palettes if the retailer won't allow it. Waste of money buying the equipment. Stay far far away
It works well but for some reason removes the time of the read in history! Leave the time.
Loaded the app and it would not connect. Not useful at all. Find another app that works.
Will not connect to the device. There are no instructions on how to connect it. I will be returning the debice immediately
Does not even come close when matching the paint color
Can't check the device's battery level. How hard would that be? Doesn't match Dunn-Edwards paints.
It works with the Samsung S9, but it doesn't connect to S21+

Far better than colour chips, but with a disappointingly low degree of accuracy/consistency (typically ~60% error rate), no option to choose the best single match from multiple reads in different positions, and a disappointingly low array of fan deck providers in EU/UK. App and partners need an update please! :)
